~Justin~ We watched David work his way into panic mode. His mind was reeling on its own, and we allowed it. The good thing about Aristocrats is that they always ensure their family members are educated. David was well aware of the law when he committed the said crimes. He wouldn't be going free. At least, not that I know of. Everyone was silent, allowing David to stew in his fear. I caught a wif of urine and figured the guy might have pissed on himself. I couldn't believe Jewelles wanted to settle for this piece of shit. She might have had her reasons, reasons that Jacob had somehow wiped off. "We could try to get you a reduced sentencing. This means you won't be hanged with the others if it ever comes to that. All you need to do is give us something important so we can go easy on you, David," Sebastien said, even though it seemed like the guy had given up everything he knew. David had literally spilt his gut, and Sebastien was letting him know it wasn't enough. We still had the
~Harper~ Watching everyone leave from my window gave me a longing. It would have been nice to go on the mission with the others, to fight beside Adrian and prove my worth, but my mission was important, too. It would bring an end to the human trafficking trade, and it was an honour to be entrusted with such a huge task. It seemed it would be difficult since it would just be me and Lily, but I understood this was an opportunity for me to prove myself as a leader. I was sure Lily and I would be able to do a good job. Our parents finally had a suspect who they believed was the head of the trafficking ring. They knew the person was a woman, but the talk of the person being from Kaizen or Braile had thrown them off. David's interrogation had somehow made them narrow down their suspicions. It was someone who wasn't on Sophia's List. Ashley Nelson Dimitrov. There was no way her brother was that deep in the operations, and she wouldn't know. Her husband was an aristocrat, so for Timothy t
~Harper~ Lily and I met in the foyer by the entrance. My father and Uncle Theo were there. Uncle Theo was unstable. We had cheap coats on so they wouldn't see the clothes we had underneath. "Are you sure we can't send Kappas instead or recruit someone else?" My father said, and I shook my head. "You have always handled business yourself, and that has kept your people loyal, knowing they are not indispensable. Allow us to follow in your footsteps. We will protect your interest better than anyone, and we cannot be turned against our family." I said, and my father nodded, but worry still danced in his eyes. "Don't worry, Uncle, father. Harper and I won't be heroes. We won't try to save the girl at our expense. The instruction is clear. Once in, we bite the false tooth to send a distress signal. The signal will show you our location. We won't engage in battle," Lily promised, and her father pulled her into an embrace. Our mothers and aunties joined. They were more worried for us than t
~Harper~ "Strip,” Ashley ordered, and I was in shock. I wasn't expecting her to say that, but anyway, it was okay. I was grateful our disguises were foolproof and mainly on the face. False nose, contact lenses, thicker eyebrows, and different hair colours. We did not look like ourselves, but the false addition looked like part of us. We slowly took off our clothes. We had cotton underwear on, nothing expensive or over the top. She nodded in approval, seeing us in our underwear. "What kind of work did you do in Pridewood?" she asked. "We served at a Tarven," I said, and she laughed. "And you think you have what it takes to serve me?" She asked, almost as if mocking us. Lily and I looked at each other, and she snapped her fingers. Immediately, Silver was clamped on our wrists. And we were forced to our knees. "Two Delta wolves far away from home. What Noble family do you belong to?" She asked, walking towards us where we knelt. We acted as if we did not know what she was talking
~Adrian~ A feeling of unease washed through me as we headed to arrest Timothy, Gary, and Ethan. I should have been excited about it, but I was the only one that did not have my mate on my team. I didn't like that. I didn't like the fact that I wouldn't have eyes on Harper, and the fact that she was going to go on a mission without me made both Drake and me uneasy. I had so many things to say and do to Gary, but it would have to wait. Once we catch them, I would have to rush back so I could be part of the rescue team that would go get Harper and Lily. The idea seemed smart when we came up with it, but I spent the entire night pleading with Harper to decline. It seemed Harper had the need to prove herself, and I didn't want to be the type of man that would hold her back. Had I somehow made a mistake? Lord Albert had done me great service when he loaded the tracking app on my phone. The moment it begins to blink red, I plan to abandon whatever I am doing and head for Harper. Lo
~Adrian~ The rhythmic hum of the van's engine reverberated through my bones as we sped toward the airport. Liam and Oliver exchanged worried glances. The Kappa driving the van, pushed the vehicle to its limits. Our hearts raced, mirroring the urgency of the situation. Liam reached out to their father. It took a moment before the King responded, but it was crucial that they were informed, just in case they weren't actively checking. While I was confident they were keeping an eye on things, we couldn't afford to be careless. "Father, are you en route to Harper?" I overheard him inquire of his father. "You need to hurry; we're on our way there. They mustn't let them board a plane, or we might not locate them in time," Liam urged, voicing my concerns as he waited for a response. "Very well, that's good. But we're on our way. Halting all aircraft from taking off isn't sufficient, Father. These people have no regard for the law," Liam asserted. "Okay, we'll see you there," he told his
~Justin~ There was long gloom in the Estate. The fact still remained that we almost lost Harper and Lily. The onslaught of brutality was much. Was it that they always had goons at the hangar? Unfortunately, the listed owner was Alester Dimitrov, and even though we knew he knew nothing of his wife's escapades, our parents had no choice but to issue his arrest. Ashely was arrested for kidnapping Harper and Lily. I have yet to get into the details of things, but we will find out what we need during their trial. Tandy was picked up, too, by Beta Casper. Just as in the past, the Alpha of Hayland was aware of her crimes and secretly supported her. As things were looking, there would be an embargo on Hayland soon because they had produced terrible leaders so far. I felt sorry for whoever will be taking over the place. It won't be easy, but keeping that place in check was necessary. They seemed to allow all sorts of nonsense. Knowing how women find their way into working in a brothel, the
~Liam~ Things had gotten crazy since our trip to Lumas, and everything seemed to escalate. Yes, we were fitting the pieces together, but we still had to figure out what happened in Lumas. While sitting in the lounge past midnight at an impromptu meeting called by my father, I could not shake off the fact that I had almost lost my cousin and sister. The dead wolves we found upon arrival at the airport scared the shit out of me. I was hysterical, but Adrian had lost it. I imagine Josephine in that state, and I would have gone crazy, too. It was easy to judge Harper and Lily and say they shouldn't have engaged in a battle with the criminals, but had they boarded the plane, I doubt we would ever see them again. They had no choice but to fight, and they gave them a hell of a fight. They would have been victorious if those things had not been drugged out and too many. I was grateful to Uncle Leo for what he did for Adrian. The meeting was eventful, I must say. I had never seen Justin g
