Linda was speechless.

She couldn’t believe her own ears. In fact, she even started to regret having bad-mouthed Sabrina to Daniel during their entire journey to the hotel. Since Linda had used words like ‘gold-digger', ‘fraud" and "prisoner" instead of Sabrina’s actual name, it hadn’t occurred to him that she was actually talking about his good friend. Furthermore, Daniel had even defended Sabrina so openly.

Linda felt as if she had just been slapped on the face. None of the attendees, including her, could have expected such a turn of events.

Yet, Sabrina's expression did not change, even after seeing Daniel. She didn’t suddenly become happy just because someone had come to her aid.

Not at all.

After all, she was aware that she had been sentenced to death, so why bother involving other people? Furthermore, this young man was an architect with a promising future. It would be a pity if he lost it all here...
