Malvolio's mother took him with her, and was even planning on buying a smaller house after maybe a decade and after she had earned some money. That way, both mother and son would have a place to live again. They were very optimistic about their life in the future. However, as an orphan and a widow, they were always bullied by others. It was particularly so for Malvolio, who had been naughty growing up. He had suddenly lost his father, so when he was bullied, he would not accept defeat and had always wanted to fight back.
