A week later, Noah had gone through the entire field behind the mountain and planted the crops. All that was left was to go into town to look for work.

"Jane, rest here at home. If it gets too stuffy in here, get Mom to go outside for a sunbath with you. We are living in the mountains, so it's nothing like living in big cities like South City, you might not see another soul for a whole month," Noah said to Jane as he was heading out.

Jane grabbed onto him. "I'm not afraid of being alone, Noah."

Noah looked at her.

"I was once locked into a dark room for years, so I'm used to loneliness. I just want to go look for jobs like you. I want a job of my own, so at night, we can come home together. I want to provide my child with an extra layer of assurance," she pleaded as she stared eagerly at Noah.
