The finals are taking place in forty minutes. Are we all riled up, eager to get on the ice and kick some ass? You bet we are. I’ve never known us to be so excited for any other game. Not that all the games aren’t important to us because of course they are, they define our season, but tonight is special. It is the Stanley Cup Final game and Minnesota is in the running.

I want this more than anything. I’ve been gearing up for this night it seems ever since I was about five years old with my first hockey stick in my hand, smacking a puck. The long, hard days of training and practice when my friends were out playing, climbing trees, camping. Not that I didn’t have any of that of course I did, we had family holidays, camping trips, over seas trips but always around my schedule. After school training, sometimes before school training as a young kid, then when I got into High School and college the serious stuff started.
