Kiara turned to face the mystery man. She didn't know what she was expecting but seemed to forget that this was a masquerade party. She couldn't see his face, because he had a green masquerade mask on that complimented his pretty eyes. He was dressed in a black suit with the usual red tie. He was extremely fit, she could tell, and all it did was want to make her take him to the bedroom.
“Why, thank you,” She responded, bowing her head ever slightly, trying to dead the nasty thoughts that overtook her mind. All of a sudden, she felt nervous. Not knowing who she was talking to was a huge game changer for her, since she wasn't used to it. But, it was just for the night.
What could go wrong?
“I spotted you from across the room, you looked absolutely ravishing, I just had to come over and say hello. So, hello.” He offered a warm smile and bent to kiss her hand. “And who might you be?” His eyes traveled over her, from her hair to shoes. She was curvy and he loved that, it would give him something to grab on when the fun starts.
“Well, it's a masquerade party for a reason. You might never know,” Kiara whispered, chuckling. “Are you a stakeholder of sorts? Or are you passionate about Charity just like I am?” She asked, taking another sip of the wine.
“Well, yes. I've worked with multiple charities and NGOs including the Make a Mark movement, free food trucks, and book donations for the community. So, I would say I dabble a little.” He shrugged like it was nothing.
Kiara’s eyes lit up as she listened to this mystery man go on and on about how he helped out in the community, as well as outside it. She loved that he was just as passionate about it as she was, and that was a good telltale sign.
“Yeah, well recently, I also went on an expedition to Jamaica ato provide free water amenities for areas that needed them. The kids loved it,” She grinned sheepishly, “I might go back soon for more projects, I loved seeing the smiles that I put on all the children's faces.”
“That's wonderful.”He replied, fully engaging himself in the conversation. He couldn't help the fact that his eyes kept trailing over her plump, puffy lips. “Damn.”
“What?” Kiara asked confusingly.
“No, nothing. I'll stop by later to have another chat with you before the night ends.”
“Okay.” She raised her glass, watching him move further and further away from her. When he left, she started to walk around engaging in conversations with others, some long and some short. There were quite a handful of people who revealed their identities to her, which resulted in them swapping contacts for future purposes and future projects.
Needless to say, by the end of the night, she was fatigued and her legs began to grow weary, so she decided to take a breather in a corridor before going back out to call for her father. She pressed her back against the wall, breathing in and out slowly. In the corridor, the same man she had been talking to earlier showed up.
“Fancy meeting you here again beautiful. What are you doing away from the crowd?” He asked, observing her face. He didn't know what exactly he was searching for, perhaps a hint of emotion.
“I just needed a breather.” She stated, smiling weakly. “I'll be on my way home very soon.”
“Aw, so soon? That's too soon for my liking,” He sighed, stepping closer to her. He smelt freshly shaven with a thick manly scent surrounding him. His cologne overwhelmed her senses, as they filled her nose quickly. He glanced down at her lips, swiping his tongue over hers. She nodded affirmatively, agreeing to whatever it was that he wanted to do.
Then, their lips collided in the best way possible. His soft lips danced against hers and the mystery man grabbed her face, as he slid his tongue into her mouth, sucking on hers before they fought for dominance. His hand crept up her neck, making her wet to the core. Her breathing became shallow and rugged as the kiss intensified. He kissed down her neck, tempting her to go farther. But, she couldn't.
Kiara pushed him away breathing heavily. That was one of the best kisses she had had in her entire life. “Goodnight.” She hurriedly said before she slipped out of his arms and back into the crowd.

It had been almost a week since the Charity Gala, and the one thing that had been stuck on her mind since that day was the intense make-out session that she had with a man that she didn't even know. She enjoyed it and she craved for more, but at the same time, it also felt very stupid. She hadn't collected his number or any of his social media, and she didn't ask either, so she wasn't sure she was ever going to see this man again.
She couldn't deny how he made her feel. Sexy, hot and bothered. She crossed her legs, squeezing her thighs gently, and bit her lips as her mind recalled the make-out session.
“Kiara,” a voice boomed from inside the house. She scrambled up, hoping whoever it was didn't see her display of lewdness just now. “Y-yes?” She responded, moving closer to the source of the voice. It was Luca and he was with a bag and suitcase in hand.
He had probably come for a sleepover, so she carried his things to the guest room and rolled the luggage bag to a corner, before tossing the other bag onto the floor. As it landed on the floor, something peeked out. Kiara moved closer to the bag, it reeked actually. She couldn't quite make out what it was, but she had to open the bag fully to see.
Her eyes widened, “What the f*ck?!”
Kiara’s shouting made Luca run to the room. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” He worriedly glanced at her, before redirecting it to his bag.”Why the hell is my bag on the floor, Kiara? My laptop is in there!” He spat, rushing to pick it up.Kiara could barely speak, “N-no, you tell me what the fuck this is right now!” She shouted again, waving the mask in the air. Luca’s eyes finally landed on the masquerade mask in her hand. Her hand was trembling, she didn’t want to believe it. No, not yet.“Did you attend the Charity Gala, Luca?” She asked, a bit calmer now. She steadied herself by taking three deep breaths in, anticipating his answer. “Yes…I did.” He confirmed as he stood back up, towering over Kiara.“Oh my God, I can’t believe this,” she said, waving the mask in her hand, “I can’t believe I kissed you! You!” She threw it onto the bed, running her hand through her hair. So, he was the cause of her sleepless nights and wet dreams? She groaned, wanting to smash her head into the wall.
“You what?” Kiara said, backing up a bit. He couldn’t possibly be serious, right? “You heard me right…I love you.” Luca repeated himself, his gaze moving to her lips once again. He wanted to kiss her again, test the waters. See what they could become and where they’d land.Kiara’s heart rate soared, as her skin became flushed with a light shade of red. His hand moved to her waist, while the other cupped her face gently, lovingly. “Do you mean it?” She breathed, looking up at Luca.“Every damn word, princess.” He said, as their noses bumped together. He brushed his lips against hers gently, creating tension between them. Kiara’s heart was pounding, her mind was hazy and all she wanted to do now, at this very moment, was to give in. “I want you.”Luca kissed her softly and tenderly with more passion. She had missed this feeling so much, she didn’t want it to end. His lips danced against hers in perfect unison, as he slid his hand down to her ass. He squeezed gently making her giggle int
Kiara had the best sex of her life 2 days again. She couldn’t get it off her mind. Anytime she thought about it, she always felt giddy, like a high schooler falling in love for the first time. Since he stayed over the weekend, they exchanged a lot of glances, with unspoken words communicated through their eyes. She got up from her bed, around 9 A.M., and decided that she wanted to make some iced tea in the kitchen. She originally wanted to pay a visit to Luca in his room, but upon realizing that his door was locked, she postponed it till later and decided to make breakfast for him.Meanwhile, Luca was in his room, talking with someone over the phone. “Just do it and make it snappy too,” he yelled, bringing his voice down to a hushed whisper, “Remember you can’t let anyone see you, okay?” The foreign voice over the phone gave an affirmative reply, which made Luca hum in satisfaction.“Damian mustn't know about this either, otherwise it’ll all be screwed up,” he reminded, making sure t
The person who had barged into Damian’s office was Luca. He held up his phone, signaling that there was video and pictorial evidence. Killian froze like a deer caught in headlights. Luca moved to Damian’s table, swiping through his gallery and showing him the surveillance videos and pictures of him transferring the money into a briefcase, before heading home. Damian’s eyes flickered from the screen to his accountant as he was rendered speechless.Damian banged his fist on his desk angrily, standing up, “Who are you doing this dirty work for?” He fumed, pointing at Killian. “Do you want to destroy my company, huh? Do you?” He sneered, shaking his head. “You’re fired, get out of my office,” he said calmly now, his voice low. “I said NOW!” He yelled as Killian scrambled outside. Damian sat back in his chair, running his hands through his hair frustratedly. Thankfully, the accountant had managed to take only 250,000 dollars out of the company’s bank account. It wouldn’t leave a dent, but
“Kiara,” Luca said, dressed in a shirt and joggers. “Hey, how are you doing?”“I’m talking to my precious babies right now, leave us alone. They want to spill the beans,” She giggled, turning back to Katie and Sam. “So, Zach Mclaughlin got caught by the teacher, looking into a girl, Amanda's skirt. So, basically they like suspended him for a week because of his provocative behavior.” She laughed, shaking her head, “On the other hand, Sarah and Jack were caught holding hands during recess, and now everyone thinks they’re dating when they aren’t. Sarah also told me that she’s scared that Jack has cooties.” She rolled her eyes.Kiara talked and talked with Katie and Sam, learning about past events that had happened in school amongst other gist. Katie glanced at the clock on the wall beside her, before looking back at Kiara. “Well, Sam and I have to go. We have a picnic to attend,” she stated happily, “Sam, get up!” She nudged him gently.“Oh, where?” Kiara asked, ruffling her brows. It
“I don’t understand…what do you mean by that?” Kiara stepped back, her feelings hurt more than ever. She felt like a total fool, standing here before him, venting and crying. Only for him to blatantly deny her.“No babe. That’s not what I meant,” he facepalmed, feeling very stupid, “I mean, since it triggers you so much, we don’t have to label it. We can just leave it as/is. We don’t have to be boyfriend and girlfriend if that bothers you too much to think about.” Kiara’s eyes softened, he was so caring towards her. She felt really lucky to have Luca right then and there at that moment. A sense of relief washed over her as she was pulled closer to Luca with his arm around her waist. “Been waiting for this moment,” he groaned sniffing her. He missed her smile, her laugh, her scent, her body, everything about her. He felt like the luckiest man alive to have the Kiara Lux in his arms. Then, finally, his lips brushed hers, soft and tender. The sensation sent a shiver down her spine, awak
Kiara looked around the living room, confused as to what was happening. Her parents seldom fought, so this was an odd sight to see. The whole area had rubbish strung across it, a vase had been smashed against the wall, which left a dent, and scattered into bits on the floor and her parents were fuming. It was as if they didn’t even notice her entry because they just kept on arguing. “No! No! You don’t get to tell me that bullshit, Damian. What the hell’s wrong with you?” Maria put her hand on her forehead, feeling queasy. The whole argument was making her feel sick to her stomach.Damian scoffed, his fists clenched, “Do you think I wanted to fire him? Do you?!” He paced around the room, “I was presented with evidence, valid evidence and you’re telling me that I’m in the wrong? You must be crazy.” He vehemently said, stepping closer to her.“I refuse to believe that, Damian! For God’s sake, why on earth do you think that my nephew of all people would abscond with your money? I’m 100% c
Maria frowned, her voice quivering as she pulled the shard of glass out of her daughter’s hands.“Baby girl, please.” She pleaded, her eyes bloodshot red. Damian pocketed his hands, pursing his lips as he observed Kiara. She was an absolute bloody mess and guilt washed over him as he stepped closer to him, concern filled in his eyes.“You’ve hurt yourself, darling.” He mumbled, rushing to the cabinet to grab a first aid kit. He quickly took out absorbent cotton and placed it on her palm.Kiara fell onto the chair behind exasperatedly as she groaned. Her hand ached badly and it was still bleeding a lot.She pressed cotton wool full of spirit on her palm, wincing as the alcoholic liquid seeped into her cut. She was now just realizing how stupid her reaction was. It’d take a while for the wound to heal, but she had no one else to blame but herself. It really peeved her whenever her parents fought, she absolutely hated it.This time around, they weren’t even listening to her. It was as if
Luca’s eyes darkened as the table crashed to the ground, spilling its contents in a noisy heap. His jaw clenched, and a vein throbbed at his temple. The air in the room seemed to thicken with tension as Sam stood frozen, her small hands trembling at her sides."You clumsy little brat!" Luca bellowed, his voice echoing off the walls. "Can't you do anything right?"Sam’s eyes filled with tears as she stumbled backward, her small frame trembling. "I-I’m sorry, Dad," she stammered, her voice barely audible. "I didn’t mean to... I promise I’ll fix it."But Luca wasn’t hearing her. His rage blinded him, fueled by his own frustrations and fears. He took a step forward, his injured hand throbbing but forgotten in the storm of his anger.“Sorry isn’t good enough!” he roared, raising his uninjured hand. Before Sam could react, the first blow landed—a harsh slap across her cheek that sent her sprawling to the floor. She whimpered, clutching her face, her tears streaming freely now.“Get up!” he
Meanwhile, back at Luca's, it's been turmoil. He had been on the run, unsure of what his fate would be. He has been hiding away, scared that the police are looking for him. When he realized that there had been no search or warrant for him, he decided to return to his house. "That betrayal must have gotten away with Kiara. If they are unable to find Kiara, they might never find out that I've been the one behind the kidnapping all along." He thought. However. That afternoon, word came from one of the boys he forced out to find Kiara, that Kiara had been found and, as in fact, been discharged from the hospital and now home with Damian. Luca stormed into his room, his injured hand hastily wrapped in a bloodied cloth. His face was a mask of fury and frustration as he paced back and forth. He couldn't even go to the hospital to have proper treatment. The faint smell of antiseptic from his poorly tended wound mingled with the scent of whiskey he had poured himself moments ago. He gulped
Well, that’s because he might be a culprit,” Harrison declared. “What?” “We’ve traced the missing funds from your accounts—millions of dollars—directly back to him.”Damian’s eyes widened, and he swung his legs over the side of the bed, fully awake now. “You’re saying Eric embezzled the money?”“Yes,” Harrison confirmed. “He used sophisticated software to launder the funds and make them untraceable. We were just about to bring him in for questioning when we found his body.”Maria sat up, her expression a mix of confusion and alarm. “What is it?” she whispered.Damian held up a hand to silence her, his focus still on the call. “Tell me you’re kidding.” “I’m afraid it’s the truth, Mr. Lux.” Harrison continued. “The missing papers have also been in his possession. But the mysterious thing is, not a dime is missing from the money. It was a new account he opened. He kept the documents also, under the same name. I don’t think he saved the money for himself.” “Do you think someone else w
Maria stood at the edge of the room, her face pale but resolute as she watched Damian absorb her words. His expression hardened, and his jaw set tight like a coiled spring.“What do you mean Luca called again?” Damian asked, his voice dangerously low.“He called to check on Kiara,” Maria replied cautiously. “That’s what he said. He added that he was relieved to hear she’s safe.”“Relieved?” Damian scoffed, his tone bitter. “That snake doesn’t deserve to say her name. He’s no friend of mine. My daughter was kidnapped, and he did nothing.”Maria sighed, stepping closer. “Darling, he called several times you were away, he called to check if we'd decided to hand over the company to them as they demanded. He said he couldn’t reach you. He even pleaded with me to convince you to do as they say so we can get Kiara back safely.” “Oh really? What a wonderful job he did. Giving a piece of advice from the comfort of his home when in reality he did nothing. If you don’t know, that amounts to not
"Kiara?" Maria whispered, stepping closer. But Kiara's gaze was distant, unfocused. She opened her mouth as if to speak, then closed it again, turning her head away."She's still processing," the doctor said gently. "Give her time."Maria placed a hand on her daughter's arm, tears in her eyes. Damian nodded, his expression grim but resolute.Harrison stepped back, his presence no longer needed in the emotional moment. As he turned to leave, Damian held his arm."Detective, what happens next?""We will analyze the evidence we found at the guest house," Harrison replied. In the meantime, keep your family safe. Whoever is behind this won't give up easily."Damian's face darkened. "Do whatever it takes to stop him. I don't want to live in fear anymore."Harrison nodded. "We'll bring him down. Count on it. We will also be sending some men to your house to ensure extra security.""Thank you, detective, for all you have done for my family," Damian said, holding Harrison's hand. The moment H
Detective Harrison sat in the passenger seat of the lead car, the tracking device clutched tightly in his hand. The faint signal beeped steadily, growing stronger as they neared the guest house on the outskirts of the city. His radio buzzed to life, an officer’s voice crackling through.“Sir, we’ve just received a call to the emergency line back at the office. They said an anonymous tip-off claims Kiara Lux is being held at a guest house. When we checked, it was in your vicinity.”Harrison’s heart leaped. “Does the location match the tracker’s signal?”“Yes, sir. The description aligns perfectly.”“Alright. Move fast. " No mistakes this time,” Harrison ordered, leaning forward as the vehicle picked up speed. The guest house came into view—a decrepit structure with peeling paint and an air of abandonment. Harrison’s instincts screamed caution. “Park out of sight,” he instructed. “We don’t want to alert anyone inside.”The team disembarked quietly, their weapons drawn as they fanned ou
Luca gritted his teeth. He clutched his injured hand as blood seeped through his fingers. His face contorted in a mix of pain and fury. “What the hell is going on?!” he roared, his voice echoing through the factory’s cavernous space. Before he could issue any orders, he noticed that the papers were now missing too. “What the fuck? What are you idiots doing? The masked man who had stabbed him was already sprinting toward the exit, Kiara in tow. She stumbled, but the man kept a firm grip on her arm, pulling her along.“Follow him! " Don’t let him get away!” Luca shouted, but his men hesitated, their confusion evident.Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps broke through the tension as one of Luca’s guards burst into the room, his face pale beneath his mask.“Boss, we’ve got a problem! " The police are here—they’re surrounding the building!”“What?” Luca barked, his eyes narrowing. He glanced toward the exit where the masked man had fled, then back at his remaining men. “How the hel
Hours later, Callyer stood outside Damian’s office, clutching the completed power of attorney papers. His concern for his friend hadn’t lessened, but Damian had made it clear that further questioning would only create tension. He knocked lightly before entering.“Here’s the document you requested,” Callyer said, placing the papers on Damian’s desk.Damian looked up, his face unreadable. “Thank you, Callyer. I’ll handle it from here.”Callyer hesitated, wanting to say more, but Damian’s tone left no room for discussion. With a curt nod, he turned and left the office. The moment the door closed, Damian reached for his phone and dialed the number he had been dreading calling. The line connected after the first ring.“Do you have what we asked for?” The voice on the other end demanded, cold and impatient.“Yes,” Damian replied, his voice steady despite the storm raging inside him. “I have the papers." Where do you want me to bring them?”The kidnapper gave him an address—a secluded wareho
Callyer shook his head, his expression equally perplexed. “Of course not. Damian, you know I’d never betray your trust. But this just confirms what I’ve been saying—you’re not telling me everything. If the police are already involved in something, you’d better let me in on it now.”Damian exhaled sharply, forcing himself to stay composed. “This has nothing to do with what I asked you to do. Stay out of it for now.”Before Callyer could press further, Damian signaled to the employee, “Tell the receptionist to let them in.” He turned back to Callyer, “Give me a moment,” he said, grabbing the clothes the employee had left and heading to the restroom attached to his office.Minutes later, Damian emerged, dressed sharply—with a few points of dressing perfection—but still carrying the heavy air of a man under siege. He adjusted his tie as he settled in his chair. As if it were calculated, there was a slight knock on his door. They saw Harrison standing by the door. “Come in.” Detective H
