Zander's POV
It took us some while before we pulled the car across Reyne's house.
Its wedgewood roof glowed in the moon light while the lamps igniting near the snow fence around the house made it look like a house as shown in a Disney movie.
The strings of my heart quivered as I saw the lights on the windows glowing. Something throbbed in my chest and for the first time I felt intimidated. Gosh, this was never in my nature. I never fretted but this girl and her aura... It is something else which I cannot restrain.
"Why did you stop the car, Zany?" My sweety blinked at me with her eyes as she sucked on her forefinger.
I gave her chubby cheeks a stroke and then smiled, "We have reached Reyne's house."
"We came already?"
"Yes, we did, baby. Now it's the most difficult part," I peeked out at the window of her roo
Night darkened outside the window. The clouds thickened as they sought to keep the moon astray like fog that does to a traveler on a lonely road. The noise of the night insects slowly reduced and it eventually vanished like they were never singing. All the birds that were quietly observing the unseen side of the world that was alien to the human gaze stuck together with their partners and babies in the nests for the view before them daunted each feather on their bodies. The lights Zander had narrated as an ignition by the side of the fence around Reyne's house were now flickering. Going on and off. On and off. Then on and off it continued with a wheezing sound as though the filament was about to heat up beyond the point it could take and finally burst.Amidst all the mishappening that was taking place outside the house, Reyne remained in her room with Zander on top of her while Milan tenderly snored next to t
94 Zander’s POV Across the canvas of my closed eyelids, I saw a face as bright as the morning sun with eyes glimmering as if diamonds under light. The lips were smiling at me softly making me feel warm inside. I had an urge to touch them with my own mouth and drink the glossy juice of red they were stained with. When the lashes of those eyes flickered, my heart skipped a beat as I gasped at the serene look of them. Those cheeks were red as beet. One could get a shade of it on their fingers if they brushed them on the curvatures of her facade. I had sought to do exactly the same when I lifted my hand. No sooner had I settled the tips of my fingers on her soft skin, she turned into a pack of butterflies and scattered everywhere around me, those later took the shape of smoke and draped me back and forth until I could see nothing but darkness. And then suddenly
"Milan, baby you're okay?" With his shoulder bleeding and painful cramps twisting his stomach where he was punctured by the Ifrit, Zander dashed inside Milan's special ward, caring least about himself. He held her close to his chest as his heavy breaths hit against her tender shoulder. He was shivering in fear. The tears of terror trickled below his lower lashes as he kissed her everywhere on her hair and shoulder. "Milan," His voice cracked, throat turned dry. Words got stuck in his dry throat and chest became heavy. "Zany, the monster hit me here, look." She stretched her little hands out for him to take a glance on her white soft skin. She was fine until she saw Zander and now her eyes were starting to get wet. His heart sank at the view. There were deep scratches and nail marks so deep they didn't look normal. Her arms were tiny hence the marks and scratches seemed extraordinarily b
The door behind Jason unfastened and Ryley appeared from it. He passed a grin of hesitation as he landed his eyes on his alpha father. ‘You must stay out of this, Ryley. I know it would be hard for you to follow my instruction as Zane is your friend but you will have to try. Not for yourself but the pack and for your mother. You are the future of this pack. I don’t want both the leaders of the pack falling into danger.” He recollected his father’s words from the other night that he told to him once they arranged to transport an injured Zane to the hospital. However, how could he not interfere in this matter? It was not just about his friend damn it… but also about being loyal to their friendship. No matter the time, situation, fights, or any other obstacle; Zander always came to his help. Last year when it was Ryley in this place, Zander did come for his aid even when he was not told about Valen being his mate. He was angry yet he ran side by side with him an
Suffocating atmosphere. Dark room. Pin drop silence. And a silent Zander laying on the hospital bed. He was covered with sweat from head to toe. The white thin mattress under him was a pool of wetness. Ryley's blood was showing its effect on him. While the dusky suffocating air became even worse, the cut on his forehead closed bit by bit until there was no opening nor scar left. The creases from his forehead, the tension in muscles as well as the soreness in his stomach subsided, making him feel subconsciously better. He was still faint yet he could feel himself in discomfort and draped in heat as sweat beads increased on his body. It was as if he just came out from a very hot shower and laid in a room sheeted under the hotness of a heater, amplifying his sweating. His muscles tensed again as the blood injected in his body was at the end phase of healing. Zander shook invariably as thou
Outside, the golden glitters of sun was draping earth in its cloak while here, inside, it was the rays of joy and hope creeping on Ryley's mouth. A few droplets of happy tears blurred his eyes as he pulled Zander into his embrace. "Dude, you do not know how much I missed you!" His voice showed his emotions. Although Zander was mentally yearning for one and only, his mate, Reyne; he was compelled to welcome Ryley's happiness. His own mouth smiled. Zander sighed near his shoulder, feeling his friendship yielding him more and more strength. "I miss her, Ryley. I want her." Unlike his actions, his heart addressed something else. Ryley broke the hug. He was still smiling between his emotional profile as he shook his head in agreement. Well honestly, Ryley missed Reyne too. Because she was his best friend's love and who could know better than him how it feels to have your love kidnapped and taken a
99Zander's POV'Control, Zander. Control.' With my fingers balled up, feet restlessly tapping on the cold floor and eyes staring nowhere in the air, I tried to keep cool.My head was a boiling volcano. I can feel the bubble popping in my skull and exasperation boil like lava in its mouth. Why? Because I was not being heard. These stupid alphas were not ready to listen to me. They drew their own stupid guesses while applying ever so bloody stupid logics."Gosh, I am telling you guys, let's just go and fuck that orc. I bet he'd spill out truth better than our stupid guessing." this was the third time I gritted and interrupted the alpha leaders between their conversations. They were generally discussing the statement in Hiatian language the army of green slimy morons had aforementioned across from me. The alphas had a big fat old book spread on the glass table in the middle of the
Dark Shine Pack's Prison, "Sir, please!" "You can't break the rules." A bunch of guards hustled behind us as they attempted to stop us from barging in the Dark Shine Pack's prison. We do not have underground cells any more. With modernization, our way of handling the rogues and other criminals also improved. Now we have a huge building aka a prison built for the guilty. It is located outside the residential area and under tight security. Ryley and I nonetheless broke it. We not just broke in using our car inside the gates but also slit through the wall of wardens trying to seize our movements. Yet, using our speedy inhuman run and wolf abilities we managed to invade our fathers' organized security. "He is held in the below-ground cell under a high-tech area." Ryley spoke as we continued walking hastily further and further.
