Ruby kept humming a song that she had heard on the radio while going to the maternity classes with Luke. They have been attending the classes together religiously and made sure to implement it in their lives. Luke dropped off Ruby at the entrance of the apartment and left for work soon after since he had an important meeting to attend.
Ruby exited the elevator while still humming the tune of the same song. She came to a halt when she noticed someone standing in front of the penthouse door. She squinted her eyes to get a better look of the person but she could not recognise.
"Excuse me," Ruby said hesitantly to grab the attention of the person.
A tall, slim and gorgeous looking girl turned around to face Ruby. Even Ruby could not ignore how outstanding this girl would be if she were in a crowd.
Ruby got a little freshened up before she and Luke went to the living room. The living room was buzzing with people. Mia was in the kitchen munching on some food. Gia and Sunny were having a chat on the couch while Gabriel and Leo were checking something on Gabriel's phone. "Come on, guys, let's have lunch," Luke announced, catching everyone's attention. "Oh.. here is the precious star," Gabriel said, smiling widely at Ruby. He quickly dropped his previous action and hugged Ruby. "How is my little nephew?" He asked rubbing her baby bump. Ruby chuckled at his nephew's comment, "The baby is doing good and we don't know if it is gonna be a boy." "Of course, it is gonna be a boy," Gabriel argued and was faced with an argument from Leo, "I feel like it is a baby girl. I w
Anna woke up earlier than usual today as she had some plans. She did not bother informing her husband about going out. She had more important matters to take care of.She was driving on her own since it was a personal matter. She drove into the basement of a building. She halted the car only when she spotted Mason standing in the corner."Where is the other guy?" She asked impatiently.Mason pointed his head to inside the car and Anna was quick to grasp it. She got into the back seat of the car."Any news yet?" She asked. Anna could not wait to know who sent the threats. She was on the edge of losing her mind. She could barely spend her days and nights carrying on with daily activities. And thinking about other things was out of the question.
Anna had a confused look on her face while Leo sipped some coffee that was freshly served. Her son did not help her in any way and she kinda knew he would not."Kicking them out of the house? Who are you kicking out of the house?" Anna asked impatiently.David smiled at her again, "Leo and Gia."Anna’s facial expression changed from confused to perplexed, “What?”David got back to checking the papers, “You heard me correctly. I am kicking out Leo and Gia.”Anna alternated looking at her son and her niece, but neither of them were looking at her. They were all concentrated on the paper in David's hand. She wondered what the papers were. Oh shit! Did that threatening bastard send her past in a deta
Anna dragged her brother, Robert away from the living room. They had much more important things to take care of right now. Anna was having contemplated thoughts about telling Robert about the handwriting test results. Would her brother betray her at any point? Despite putting himself at stake? She had no idea.“Where have you been, Robert? You said you would come back soon but it took you one whole month to come back here,” Anna asked. She purposely began the talk with casual things. She heard Robert sighing behind her, “Ask me about it. One of the shipments at the west coast got seized. We had some internal connections there. But that officer was abruptly transferred to a different base and our shipment was seized by the newly appointed officer. It took a lot more work and money than I expected to get it cleared.”Anna frowned at the ne
From not knowing who is the father of Gia’s baby to not figuring out how Robert's handwriting is involved in the threats that they received, Anna had been feeling torn. The next few days went by very badly for her. Her husband has been completely ignoring her and barely gives her a nod whenever she asks something. And since her son has been living separately, she has not been able to talk to him and get to know about what projects are happening at the company.Right now, she was just sprawled on the couch and scrolled through her phone. The senior butler of the house noticed her and came to ask, “Maám, would you like to have anything.”‘I would love to have all the wealth of the Sawyer family.’ She thought in her mind but voiced out something else, “No, Orlando. I am going to meet Leo. Pack some of his favourite cookie
Anna just realized that she was the only woman of this family to not get involved in the Sawyer Corporation. The founding woman was an integral part of the company and the next woman, Andrea was also part of the company and the future woman, Ruby is also getting involved in the company even before marrying Luke.“And why was I not allowed to be involved in the company?” Anna asked. “I don’t think I have to be giving an explanation to you or anybody for that matter. This is my family’s company and I have all the right to hire and fire people,” David gave a stern answer. He was pissed off at Anna for what she made Gia do and ruining that young girl’s life.Anna was fuming with anger by now. She threw the package that she was holding and stormed out of Luke’s office.Davi
Ruby tossed and turned on her bed. She could feel that the morning had arrived since there was a fresh breeze coming through her window. She turned around and grabbed her phone to check the time. The clock showed 8:30 AM. She rubbed her eyes and rechecked the time and it still showed the same. She was confused because Luke usually woke her up at 7:30 in the morning everyday. But he had not today. He had tucked her into her bed last night securely and went to his room. She wondered what he was doing without waking her up yet.Ruby slowly and carefully got out of the bed and freshened up and went to Luke's room."Luke….. Luke…." Ruby called his name as she entered his room. She noticed that he was still on his bed, wrapped in his blanket.Ruby sat on his bed and pulled the blanket from his face, "Luke,"
Leo helped Ruby to get into his car and settle in her seat. He even strapped the seatbelt, which made Ruby frown, "You know, I am not disabled. I can strap the seatbelt on my own," Ruby said when Leo was in the driver seat and started the engine. Leo smirked at her words, "I know. I know. But my brother seems to not know it. He literally told me 'Don't make Ruby do any kind of work. Not even strapping the seatbelt. You better be careful as if you are carrying a precious porcelain'."Ruby groaned at the cheeky sentence Leo just said. "I am sure that Luke did not say those words."Leo pretended to be hurt by her words, "What? You don't believe me?" Ruby shook her head, "Not even a bit."Leo continued to show his disbelief, "Fine. You can ask him when we go home.""I plan t
