Lucifer's POV

I could distinctly recall that period, the time when my father claimed he was done with Set and me.

As per him, he had prepared us, and now it was time for a new era. Little did we know that he was referring to torture of a different kind for us.

We had no clue what he meant, not until we learned about Abaddon’s birth.

As per Aaron's disclosure, Amira was here in Enna somewhere around when Abaddon was born or was about to be born.

I hated revisiting my memories of that period, but even as I wandered through my recollections, I could not place any strange woman, especially the one called Amira.

No, no, it could not be. If she had been here, we would have known. We should have known.

‘Do you remember any other witches from that time?' I mind-linked Set, who looked as disturbed by this piece of information as I was.

‘Not that I am aware. But then, we never knew much then. We were dealing with our own set of issues.' Set linked me back.

‘Remember, Avo had mentioned t

Omerta’s POV Breathe, just breathe. One breath at a time. I told myself for the thousandth time. Breathe, count, and repeat—that was the mantra that I repeated over and over to myself as I absorbed the words that came from Aaron’s mouth, who was supposedly my cousin. That was what kept me afloat through all the well-guarded secrets and lesser-known facts that came to light one by one as he narrated the story. To say that I was overwhelmed was a gross understatement. A part of me was numb, while another was a volcano of emotions waiting to explode. Growing up, I cooked up many stories in my head about who my mother was and why she left. I had imagined a plethora of scenarios, ranging from her being a spy to an ideal daughter. But never in my wildest dreams, had I expected my mother to be a…..a witch. Witches. I could not even get myself to say the word aloud. My human upbringing did not give me a kind vibe about the whole concept, and remembering all the side remarks Lucifer had

Giovanni’s POV“Amira had told my mom that we would need to find that elder in Tirano once Omerta’s powers started showing,” Aaron claimed as we drove to Tirano.Avo had shipped both Omerta and Lucifer in a different vehicle altogether, despite Lucifer’s resistance. The rest of us were in this car.Aaron looked up at the rear-view mirror from the back seat, staring right into my eyes as he said the next words. “We will find some answers there, trust me.”Trust him? Wasn’t that the real problem here? That we couldn’t rely on him. How do you depend on a witch? Our lives had gone completely topsy-turvy in the last couple of hours as if there was not enough going on with the Vampires already. The biggest shock of them all was finding out that Omerta was a witch. I meant a wise one.Oh, boy! I did not see that one coming. I was sure none of us did.I had never come face to face with a witch myself, but I knew of their cruelty and greed because of Shahira. Had seen first-hand what they were

  • Promised to the Tyrant   The Ride

Omerta’s POV The strain at the back of my head was driving me nuts. I tried to ignore the heaviness, setting it aside as I focused on the thing that was bothering me, Lucifer. We had touched down at Milano Airport two hours ago and had been driving ever since, heading for Tirano. Lucifer and I had been alone in this car for those two hours, and yet there had not been a single word that he had not exchanged with me. During our car ride, I had made multiple attempts over the last three hours to start a conversation, but all I got in return were monosyllables. It was a no-brainer that he did not want to be here; I could see the resistance in his eyes even as Avo forced us to drive together. He had been avoiding looking me in the eye since Aaron’s arrival. And here I thought that after all that had happened between us, we had moved forward in our relationship. But with every step we took forward, we went three steps backward. I took a deep breath as I decided to give it one more sh

Lucifer’s POV I thought I knew pain; I believed I had seen it and experienced it all. However, that was nothing in comparison to the anguish I was in when I saw her convulse in agony right in front of my eyes, yet again. And all I could do was stand and watch as she twisted and turned, wailed, and shrieked. In the end, her body was completely battered and bruised, like she had been in a bad car accident. The fucking dream state, or whatever the hell it was those witches called it, had completely drained her of any energy; she could barely get a few words out of her mouth. Fuck! I hated this feeling. If the last time was bad, this time was fucking horrendous. "Brother, do you think we need to change our plan?" Set asked, referring to her dream, as he came to stand beside me. Right now, I could not care less about whatever the fucking plan was or what it had to do with that fucking dream. All that mattered was her. "Yes, of course, we need to follow wherever and whatever her dream

Omerta’s POV "How are you feeling now?" Giovanni asked as he brought me a steaming cup of soup. "Better," I lied, not wanting him to know that I felt like shit. My body was black and blue from all the collisions, and I had no energy to do anything. Physically, I had never felt worse. "That’s good to hear," Avo said as he entered the room, bringing back the memories from my vision to the forefront of my mind. One where he made Lucifer….. "If you are feeling better, I wanted to check with you if you remember anything else from your visions," Avo asked me as he came to sit on my bed. "It might help Lucifer and Set identify the person." "No, not really," I lied again. I so wanted to ask Avo more about the other vision of mine, about what Lucifer was doing there, and more about his past. But the warning from this morning was fresh in my mind; the one that I had received while still dreaming about Lucifer and Avo. I could still feel the dark, smoky fog that had covered my sight, as a

  • Promised to the Tyrant   Lucifer (2)

Omerta's POV I was transported to an unknown location—a dark, windowless hall that could have been a basement for all I knew. The hall was divided into two parts. On one side there were a series of small cabins, and on the other, there was a circular training space. One with floors made of clay, providing a firm yet forgiving surface for physical combat. The training ring was surrounded by an unruly crowd of oversized and rowdy men, who could easily pass for wrestlers. Amidst the chaos, right at the center of the ring stood Lucifer, who looked just as young as he did during that tyre practice session, though his face had hardened from the last time around and his eyes seemed gloomier as if they had lost hope. My heart sank at the thought that Lucifer was going to fight these men. He was just a child; he did not even reach their waists, for God’s sake. How did they expect him to fight them? Soon, I discovered that I had never been more wrong about anything. My ability to guess th

  • Promised to the Tyrant   Traitor

Lucifer’s POV It was hard to believe that she had these visions, and they were so damn accurate. But the proof was sitting right in front of me; her visions had led us to this traitor. Rudo Luciano, the alpha and head of the New York family. The same fucker who had sent Stray as a tribute to us. "Why can’t I move?" Luciano screamed as he struggled against his limp body. "What have you done to me?" I rolled my eyes. This time it was not my doing. It was that witch boy who had rendered Luciano’s body immobile using his powers. "Got to say, you do come in handy, Aaron. Won’t you say, brother?" Set complimented Aaron. "Remind me to get you some brownie points with Giovanni; the Goddess knows you need them." "Not now, Set," I snarled at Set. "Why not, brother? I think this is the time for our dear Luciano to enjoy some hospitality from the witch here." Set taunted Luciano. "Witch, but he is a b.. boy" Luciano stuttered as he absorbed the witch part. "I know; this is new for us as

  • Promised to the Tyrant   She Knows

Lucifer’s POV "I know you have great senses," that witch boy said, "but maybe, just maybe, you should think about driving a little slower." He was referring to me zigzagging through this sea of vehicles, from left to right and right to left, without warning, not paying attention to all the honking and curses that followed. Like I gave a fuck! We had been in the middle of a very interesting session with Luciano when Avo called a couple of hours ago. All he said was one sentence. One sentence had me packing Luciano away in the trunk of the car and driving like a maniac to reach her. She was back to having another one of those episodes again; that was all that Avo had said. But the concern in his voice had me more worried than his words. Something was not right; I could feel it in my gut. And I needed to see her for myself sooner or later. Half an hour later, we were already at the hotel. Right before I entered her room, I was expecting the worst. However, never in my wildest dre

Omerta's POV"I am no father of yours." My father shouted."Don't you call me that?"I would be lying if I said that I did not wince at the words which he had repeated a million times growing up. But this time, they drilled deeper, making me realize how true they were.He was not my father; surely he never acted like one.And in that very instant, the man standing in front of me went from being my father to just Lucio Romano.Lucio sounded right; it definitely sounded more apt than Father.I was still deciding on the nomenclature when the phrase 'puta' made its way to my ears."Must have become their puta," Maria muttered under her breath, disgust written all over her face.A loud growl erupted from behind me, silencing the entire room, but before Draco could make another move, I warned him off, not wanting him to get involved. I did not want anyone to fight this battle for me; that was the whole reason why I had not brought Lucifer with me. "Again, I am not sure why you are surpris

  • Promised to the Tyrant   New York (1)

Omerta's POVI had that same vision again and again for the last thirty-six hours, so much so that that was all I could see, hear, or think about. It marred every breath of mine.I knew something bad was going to happen. The voices in my head were restless, though they were not very helpful either. All they told me was that what I had seen would become reality soon enough—not now, but soon enough. However, they were not able to flush out any details other than that. Which meant we had to travel to New York. That was not a problem since we were already due to visit New York to meet with my father, especially after we met with Sameera. My premonition had just preponed our plans. So, the very next morning, we took the very first flight out to New York. I was nervous as hell about this trip. First, the constant buzzing in my head because of the vision had me on edge. I was worried about my mother and eager to meet her. But the thing that had eaten me out was coming face-to-face with

  • Promised to the Tyrant   Normal Couple

Omerta's POV "And now I am going to fuck you so hard that you will not be able to walk for weeks." His words did it for me, sending me over the edge and making me come apart as I tainted the whole room with the scent of my orgasm. The delicious knot in my stomach burst in one go. My muscles contracted and relaxed at the same time as my body savored the experience of a ballet of tension and release surging through it. My eyes fluttered shut, unable to contain the buzzing that was radiating through my body. I was exhausted and energized. It was like I was in heaven and hell at the same time. And I knew he had only just begun with me. Locking his eyes with mine, Lucifer ran his thumb over the smooth skin around my bikini line once again, sending sweet tingles to my sensitive core and my heart into overdrive. I could not decide if it was his look that had my panty wet or his touch. Every nerve in my body was on fire, yearning for more. And I literally lost my head when Lu

  • Promised to the Tyrant   I love you!

Omerta's POV My emotions were running all raw and bare as I ran up, taking two stairs at a time. Sameera's words kept playing in my mind over and over again. He was created so I could be born. I was the trigger for those inhuman experiments that Lucifer and Set had to go through. Another stream of tears trickled down my cheeks as I recalled what they had to go through with Shaira. The ear-shattering screams, the anguished expressions, and those blank looks haunted me. He probably hated me after knowing all this, and he was not wrong. I would hate me too. I did hate myself. I was at the center of all his pain. Not only that, I was at the center of everything that was going wrong. I couldn't help but feel a heavy weight of responsibility on my shoulders. The realization hit me that I had unknowingly become the catalyst for all the chaos that was unfolding around us. Another sob left my mouth, and I lept toward the bed, lying down on my stomach. I clutched the pillow to m

  • Promised to the Tyrant   More from Sameera

Lucifer's POVThis witch continued to spew nonsense regarding the origin of Lycans, but I could barely keep up. All my focus was on my Stray. Her racing heart, ragged breath, and the sweat that had broken through her skin were proof that she was not taking this well.I could taste her fear, her anxiety, and the fuckton of negative thoughts going through her beautiful little head. Wanting to soothe her nerves, I wrapped my arms tightly around her, pulling her close while my fingers drew circles on her arms. As I held her against my chest, I could feel her relax a little in my arms, but she was still too tense. Her emotions were still all over the place. I knew she was completely overwhelmed by the whole prophecy sh*t.To be fair, it was fucking too much, especially for a girl who had no clue about this world until about three months ago. And now she was being thrown headfirst into this fucking chaos.Truth be told, I did not give a flying fuck about any of it. Avo had tried many t

  • Promised to the Tyrant   What Sameera Knows (2)

Omerta's POV I could feel my heart in my mouth as Sameera's words sank in. My legs wobbled from the pressure of whatever was yet to come. The message that my mother had left for me, about the darkness within me came to the forefront of my mind. Only the darkness within will set you free. Embrace it with all, as you embrace thee. Was the darkness within me the cause of all this? I just had a bad feeling about this. For a minute, I regretted coming here at all. Why was it important to get more answers? Lucifer and I were together; why did we need to complicate things more? I knew it was a naive outlook, but I would have preferred being with Lucifer somewhere, instead of listening to all this. Any day, I would take denial over the weight of her words, and the misdeeds that were happening around me. "It all started with the goddess Athena, right about the time when the blessed ones were formed. And while I am sure that Augustus knows this story better than I do, as my prerogative

  • Promised to the Tyrant   What Sameera Knows (1)

Omerta's POV All of my anxiety about sharing a room with Lucifer amounted to nothing, at least not on our first night. Lucifer did not come back till late; in fact, I had no idea when he came or when we went in the morning, because he did not tell me either of the times. All I knew was that something warm and hard was wrapped around me for most of the night, but it was gone by the time I woke up in the morning. There was no Lucifer and no note. It was like I had the whole room to myself. My deep-rooted insecurities started making their way to the surface. I could feel the negative thoughts skirting around the periphery of my vision, but I was adamant not to let them get to me. I reminded myself again that he was just stuck with the stuff going back to Enna. He wanted me here He had moved me into his room. And like he had said, we were in this together, and we were in it for life. Quickly getting ready, I headed downstairs with the book Aaron had given me. It was the one t

  • Promised to the Tyrant   Living Together

Omerta's POV "Don't even fucking think of lying to me, Stray!" Lucifer warned me as he stood all tall and large in that tiny washroom, fuming to fury. He was beyond upset. "You were here with her. Fucking all alone! Do you even know what she could have done?" Lucifer continued, scolding me as he took my hand back in his, pulling me out of there. Alright, he was worried, all right, and he had all his reasons. "I am fine; it was nothing. She did nothing." I tried to calm him down as I showed him that I was unharmed. "You have no idea what they are capable of. All witches are not like that fucker Aaron." It was good to know that Lucifer had let go of some of his inhibitions concerning Aaron, especially since Giovanni had marked him. When we stepped out of the restroom stalls, Avo and Aaron were waiting for us outside. So this is how Lucifer knew about her. Did the wise one know that Aaron would come here? She was super precise about Lucifer's timing as well, which meant

  • Promised to the Tyrant   Her Words

Omerta's POV "So, what is the plan?" I heard Aaron asking when I stepped out of the guest house. "We will start from where we left off yesterday," Avo said calmly. "She was at the fair yesterday, and she made that known, so that is where we start from." After I had spotted the wise one yesterday, we systematically scanned the whole area, only to come up empty-handed. After sundown, Aaron and I could not even feel her presence anymore. We thought it would be easy to scout her out, especially since the one quick glance I had gotten at her told me that she was the spitting image of me. It was almost like looking at my own reflection in the mirror. Maybe I was confused; maybe she just had red, curly hair and green eyes. One thing was sure, she barely looked like an elder. Truth be told, the possibility that it could be my mother had crossed my mind. I had never seen my mother's photograph, but I knew she looked like me. "Is Lucifer not coming?" Draco looked at me, expecting me
