The disgust I felt at the sight of the woman that ran the orphanage and the Alpha was unexplainable . She smelled disgusting , I had never been to this pack before and I doubt  I would be back . Driving through the pack was definitely an eye opener . This Alpha , is clearly loving his riches decked out in the best of clothes yet his pack looks like it's falling down the buildings are in a bad state .

My beast is unsettled , I could feel him trying to come forward . I was just thinking of going back to the car when she appeared . She was slightly taller than most she-wolves , her hair as white as snow . It's her eyes that have me staring , she has two different coloured eyes , both green but one an olive and one almost mint both bright . She must have noticed me staring , I have no idea why but she looked pissed at me .

Then i fucking insulted her , mentally slapping myself when she slapped me across the face . I was so shocked that she had slapped me I just stared at her for a moment . She had no fear in her beautiful eyes , no she would have ripped my throat out if she could . Telling me to know my place .

Nari,  her name was Nari, what a lovely name but the look of shock had me burst out laughing . Slapping me , then making me say sorry, I step back . It is only then I catch the stench of blood , her blood . My beast is almost uncontrollable as I step towards her , I then notice a few small droplets of blood on the ground beside her . Lifting her arm it takes all not to step away as I feel the faint tingles rush up my arm , she felt it , I saw her take a sharp intake of breath as I noticed four angry looking puncture wounds on her arm .They were fresh, the blood was still dripping from then , my beast wanted blood for this .

“ Who did this to her ?” I ask with a voice mixed between mine and my beast . After a threat she answers but looks at the fat horrible woman as she talks .

Her voice is laced with hatred , I know that voice I have used it , many times . I smirk as I watch the colour drain from the face of the woman at Nari’s words . It is only when a small girl takes Nari’s hand that she moves and drops her arm out of my touch , I almost growled but the sight of the small girl crying has me moving back to my fathers side .

I feel confused by my Lycans reaction to her , he never shows any interest in the females i spend time with . I could feel her hesitance as we got into the car. I need to watch how I talk to her. I know she is feisty but she is innocent in many ways . Telling her I didn't bite has my beast flashing all kinds of ways to and where to bite her . She sits beside me but squashes herself into the corner as far from me as she could , trying so hard not to touch me .

‘ You seem to like this one .’ My fathers voice floats into my head through our link . Giving him a look of warning , he just smirks at me .

I watch Nari from the corner of my eye. She looks amazed , as we drive through the border out her pack lands . ‘ Father , did you get her file? Has she ever belonged to another pack ? .’ I don't even look at him , I am stuck watching her as she drifts off to sleep .

‘ According to the Alpha she was abandoned as a baby . Why?’ . Sighing, I drag my eyes from her. ‘ She just looked amazed by the landscape .’ My father just gives me a small smile .

It doesn't take long to get back to our pack , I almost feel guilty waking her up but I do feel lifting her is inappropriate . Giving her a small shake , her eyes fly open and she looks panicked .

“ Hey , it's ok , we have arrived at the castle .” She blinks a few times before gathering her barings .

“ Ok, thank you .” I frowned at her “ For what ?” I can't help but notice how cute she looks when she's just woken up . “ For letting me sleep .” she says as a pink blush creeps up her cheeks , making her look even cuter .

I have no idea why but I don't want her to go to the servants quarters like the others . I decided to take her to the room next to me . I mind-link my father and tell him . He turns and gives me a smirk , I then link Anna the head maid and tell her to have the room ready with everything I think she might need including some night wear . Knowing it will take Anna a little while to have the room ready , I decide to show Nari around .

“ Would you like a tour ?” . Nari looks at me in shock but nods her head .

I feel so confused by my own feelings and reactions to her . My beast definitely is not helping the inner turmoil . I am so lost in my own thoughts , I am caught off guard when she touches my arm . Looking down at her small hand , her porcelain skin against my golden brown skin . She is so different from the other girls I have ever been with , looking up to her crazy but beautiful eyes .

“ Are you ok? .” she asks me as i am still staring at her . “ Yes sorry , where would you like to go first ? .” She smiles but doesn't take her hand off my arm .

“ Do you have a library ? I love to read , the cook would sneak me books .”

I frown at her sneak , why would someone need to sneak books . Noticing my frown she removes her hand from my arm , I hold in a growl at the sudden empty feeling at the loss of contact .

“ Why would someone have to sneak you books ?” . She looks down, dropping my gaze . “ Mrs Lightly wouldn't allow us anything like that . Travis, the elder of her sons, burnt them if they found them .” She says with a shrug , still refusing to look me in the eye .

I am actually gobsmacked at her answer , I feel like I really need to talk to my father about that pack . Both our attention is drawn to the squeaking she-wolf that is approaching us , I can feel my beast getting angry . The she-wolf in question is one of the wolves gifted to me from one of the other packs . She is far too loud for my liking , she seems to think being gifted means we are a couple , well news flash we are not and never will be .

Stopping in front of us she looks Nari up and down with a look of disgust “ And who is this ? .” she asks in her overly high pitched nasal voice .

Nari turns to look at me with a confused look . “ Nari , this Frah . Frah this is Nari .” She just makes a noise and puts her hand on her hip . “ Excuse us, Frah , we have places to be .” I take Nari’s hand and walk away trying not to give her a chance to say anything .

I was trying to stop my beast going back and ripping her throat out for her disrespect towards Nari . Nari squeezes my hand , drawing my attention back to her .

“ Are you ok Prince Kurat ?” . Looking down at her concerned face I stop “ Yes , sorry I didn't like her disrespect . Come let's go to the library , and it's just Kurat please just call me Kurat .” She nods , I take her hand again and continue to the library .
