Chapter Eleven.

Betrayal can cause a deep sense of mistrust and insecurity. This can be especially true when the betrayal comes from someone that the person loves and trusts deeply. This betrayal can cause them to question their own judgment and can be difficult to come to terms with. This can lead to feelings of guilt, anger, and hurt that can be difficult to process and can cause further pain and confusion.

“Good work, Beta,” the Alpha comments. “Where has Joy gone? We cannot afford to lose her.”

“Alpha, she will arrive shortly. She won’t be able to escape. We paired her with Lucas, after all,” he remarks.

This revelation takes me by surprise. I know Lucas isn’t a good one, and I’ve never believed he is Joy’s mate. But how did the beta accomplish this?

“As you know, Alpha, although Joy’s combat skills aren’t as good as that demon kid’s standard, I would still suggest we kill her in case she decides to take revenge for her family being slain one day.”
