"...so, these are our designs for our upcoming project. This time around, I think it would be wiser if we introduce our products in a reasonable price that can be affordable by all. That's my idea. Any questions, ladies and gentlemen?" I directed my attention to the people sitting in the conference room as I ended my presentation.

From my periphery, I saw a hand being raised followed by a gruff voice, "I don't think it is a wise idea, Ms. White. Eva's is a renowned brand all over the world because only a few people can afford it. It has a high class quality that screams money from a mile, which is the reason it is the dream of everyone and possession of a few. Then there is The Stones Inc. which is even more reputed than Eva's. So if this deal is finalized, we can be more powerful and our products will be sold for higher prices. There's no meaning of top brand if everyone can afford it. Common things don't attract attention."

I looked at the speaker and couldn’t say it wasn’t expected. David Cameron. He was a board member of my company and a complete douchebag. He always had an objection in any and every of my proposals. I believed it was due to a simple fact that there was a female holding a position higher than him. He'd made sure to express his opinion on that matter countless of times.

I fixed him with my strongest gaze and said, "That is where we have a difference in opinions, Mr. Cameron. A brand does not become top class just because if it's expensive and out of reach for many. It becomes a top brand when it is within the reach of every customer and has earned its customers' trust with its quality. So I want my customers to have a trust with the brand and we can only establish that trust if our products are affordable to every people regardless of their status, without any deterioration in its original quality and excellency. That's all. Any more queries?" I turned to all the people in the boardroom, assessing their expressions.

All I received in reply was silence. Complete and utter silence. Until it was broken by a deep voice booming with authority.

"I wholeheartedly agree with Ms. White. It is, indeed very important that we reach every people through our products and not only the higher classes. It is the ultimate goal of my company as well. So, I think Ms. White has made a very good point in bringing the middle class people in light to our upcoming business strategy. I highly respect her decision." Mr. Adrian Stone said giving me a look of admiration, respect and something else I couldn't figure out.

Up until now, I had been trying my best to ignore him and I had been successful to do so once I'd started the presentation. But now, I became acutely aware of his presence directly across me on the other end of the table. His words, along with his look filled me with a kind of warmth I hadn't experienced before.

Mr. Stone then directed his gaze to other members in the boardroom and raised an eyebrow as he asked, "I’ve got no issues with the idea. Does anyone still have any doubts or disagreement in the matter?" He made sure to give a pointed look to David Cameron at the end, who mumbled a small 'no' and shook his head. Serves him right. At least the man had a decency to look embarrassed.

As everyone stated their agreement, Mr. Stone redirected his intense gaze to me and walked towards me with sure and confident steps. Once he reached in front of me, he brought his hands to his pocket and said, "I am thoroughly impressed by your ideas and the progress reports of this company, Ms. White. I am positive that we can further benefit each other through this business deal. I therefore propose our partnership in the production and marketing of our products. What do you think?"

I was actually surprised by this. When I'd heard that The Stones Inc. wanted to have a business deal with Eva's, I'd thought it to be a minor deal between one of our branches, not the whole production and marketing. It was really a good proposal and would benefit both of our companies tremendously, undoubtedly mine more so than his. But still, I didn't want to take any decisions right away because as I said, Eva's was everything to me and I didn't want to lose it with my rash decision, no matter how good it seemed at present. I needed to think on the long term basis.

I looked up to the electric blue eyes regarding me patiently with a hint of curiosity and held my head high as I said, "I do agree that it is a very good proposal and has the best interest of both of our companies, Mr. Stone, but I'm afraid I can't give you an answer right away. I need to give it more thoughts and come up with some clauses of my own if we are to have this deal. That being said, I would appreciate it if we were to have this discussion some days from now."

He looked a bit taken aback from my answer but soon composed his expression and returned into his usual cold one. "Of course, Ms. White. You can put all of your thoughts into this. I'm not in such a hurry. However, I would appreciate it if you make up your mind about this sooner rather than later because we do have lots of other companies willing to accept this deal without any questions. But I admire your dedication to your work and hope you come to a decision by Monday. My lawyer here, Mr. Nathan Harrison will give you the papers and explain everything written in there. I look forward to seeing you more often. Good day, Ms. White."

With that, the arrogant brute walked out of the room with a brief nod to the board members, leaving my jaw hanging. That arrogant, self-centered, big headed son of a... Not only did he not have the decency to wait for me to end the meeting seeing as he was the guest in my office, but that conceited idiot automatically assumed that I'd accept the deal when I had specifically asked for time to think. God, how big could a man's head get?

"Excuse me, Ms. White." I looked up to find a young man about a couple of years older than me staring at me in amusement. Maybe he was saying something that I didn't hear as I was too absorbed in pointing out the faults of that brute in my mind.

"Oh... Pardon me, I didn't quite catch that. Can you please repeat it, Mr...?" The good man just smiled at me and shook his head. "It's quite alright Ms. White. I'm Nathan Harrison, Mr. Stone's personal lawyer. Here are the papers he told you about. All the terms and conditions of the deal are written here if you decide to accept it. Should you have any queries regarding it, you can either contact me or Mr. Stone directly." He said giving me a file and his business card.

I took them with a small thank you and then turned to the board members who seemed to be waiting eagerly for the meeting to end. I couldn't blame them since I, myself, couldn't wait for it to be over. I quickly thanked everyone for joining the meeting and dismissed them.

Finally, everyone had left and I went to my office but before I could start anything, my cellphone vibrated showing an incoming call. It was Allie calling to remind me about the party. I'd completely forgotten about it up until now but I assured her that I'd pick her up at 8 and ended the call.

I quickly finished my work and left after giving some instructions to Leah. Once I reached my apartment, I took a shower and started getting ready for tonight.

I put on a V-necked red dress and paired it with black knee-high boots. I simply applied eyeliner and mascara and finally with a soft touch of blush and red lipstick, I was ready. I left my auburn hair down with a few curls bouncing in the end. Satisfied with my look, I grabbed my purse and with a short text to Allie, I was on the way.

After nearly 20 minutes of ride, I reached her driveway and honked my car horn. Soon she came out looking beautiful in an almost see-through black V-necked dress.

"Wow! Allie-Ballie, you look hot!" I gave her a brief hug once she got in the passenger seat.

"That was the point!" She giggled. "By the way, so do you. And I hope you're ready to party all night long because that's what we're going to do. Party, party and more party!" Allie squealed in a high pitched voice. But I could see she was just trying to fool me because she was clearly upset over something. And I had no doubt it was that idiot Mike. Mentally making a note to talk to her about that later, I rode us to our destination. Hopefully, what I had planned would make her feel better.

I was anxiously looking at the entrance of the bar with a soft drink in my hand while occasionally looking out for Allie who hadn't stopped dancing from the moment we stepped in. I could see a lot of guys dancing near her and some trying to get closer than they already were.I saw one of the hands traveling down her back lower than what was customary for dancing. I stood up from my place, ready to intervene but then I saw Allie get closer to owner of the wandering hand and say something on his ear. By the looks of it, it wasn't a pleasant invitation to grope her as the guy had thought. His gaze changed from lustful to fear and finally indifference as he pulled away from her and walked to the other side. I believed that the guy was one of her high

I sat in front of the bar and as usual, Terry, the bartender gave me a wink as he asked took the order for my drink. SinceRed Diamondswas our favorite club to hang out at, both me and Allie were quite familiar with Terry who just so happened to have his shift almost every time we come here.Terry, although his real name was something else but apparently he didn't like it since he thought it wasn't as cool as his personality (his words, not mine), was in his early 20s, studying photography and in his sophomore year. He had blonde hair with green eyes and a friendly air around him that made you want to talk to him. However, there were some instances when he tried to get a little too friendly with hiscoolsuggestive innuendos that made me want to whack him upside his head. But apart from that, Terry was a bubble of excitement that was contagious to anyone close by.I smiled at him and asked for a soda while he raised an eyebrow. Th

I sat on my desk, rubbing my head as I thought once again if accepting the deal with The Stones Inc.would be a good idea. It was Monday today and I'd spent the majority of last night going through every detail of the contract, afraid that one little mistake from me and the company I built through my hardships will be down to ashes.I stayed with Allie for the weekend as she was upset about her now ex-boyfriend. We didn't do much, just hung around watching movies and Allie pretending that she was alright even though it was clear that she wasn't. I'd never seen Allie this upset before and it just ignited that rage in me towards that good-for-nothing scum.Jake came over on Sunday to check up on Allie and apologize about his "parents-sharer" as he described Mike although Allie repeatedly assured him there was no need. Other than that, my weekend was as normal as it could be with a best friend in her recent breakup phase, an out-of-touch until-last

A few weeks passed by and work resumed as normal with some exceptions of the works related to the production and marketing department. There were some changes now that it was associated withThe Stones Inc., but other than that, it was pretty much the same.I'd seen Adrian somedays here and there but we hadn't talked much except share a few greetings since we were both busy with our works. And besides, I was downright furious at him for outwardly denying my idea of organizing the event byEva's. The man wasn't even ready for joint contribution for the event."The event will have to be up to the standard ofThe Stones Inc.So I'm not taking any chances with my reputation." He had rudely stated his reasoning. I wanted nothing more than to remove the huge hollow thing covering his head and discover his pea sized brain so that I could pluck it out and crush it with my foot.Good Gods! I'm violent. The part

"May I have your attention?"Nate and I looked up to see Adrian standing on a dice now placed at the center of the hall. He had his right arm on the dice as he spoke with a charming smile flashed at the audience, "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! It's my extreme pleasure to announce thatThe Stones Inc.has partnered withEva's and Co. regarding our production and marketing department.”There was a series of claps and cheers that followed his announcement. He waited for the audience to go silent before continuing, “I'd like to thank the CEO ofEva's and Co., Ms. Evelyn White for the opportunity. I am certain that together, we can create a big impact in the business world. Now I'd like to request Ms. White to come up here and share her thoughts. Thank you. Hope you enjoy your evening." He ended with another one of his rare smiles and a huge applause sounded around the entire hall as people looked at my direct

Adrian's POV:8:00 am. The elevator opened to my office and I was greeted by my personal assistant, Ms. Natalie Carter. At least that's what I think was her name because I never called anyone by their first names unless they were family or very close friends.Well, there was an exceptionbut it was not for my P.A. It was for someone else. I noticed her flirtatious smile and her choice of wardrobe which said one thing- I wassupposedto notice that. I hid my irritation and with a curt nod, walked into my office.Ms. Carter had been providing these subtle hints for some time now and recently it was starting to be more blatant. I was considering firing her because I hated it when my employees forgot their place and the rules and regulations of my company. And most of my previous assistants were fired for the same reason. Ms. Carter was excellent in her job though which was why I was hoping it wouldn't come to that. I

Back to EvelynI finally ended the call and sat down on my chair with a small sigh. It was almost 3 PM now and I hadn't eaten anything apart from a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin Leah had brought when she arrived earlier. That was around six hours ago.I had a meeting with my team regarding the changes with advertising strategies and additional resources required for the company. The meeting was tiresome to say the least. When it finally ended, I had a video conference scheduled with an investor from Italy. He was not fluent in English at all and his thick accent made it difficult to catch a word he said. Fortunately, I'd learnt Italian and had been to Italy several times so we were finally able to come up to a common ground although my Italian was barely passable. And now I was just a second away from chewing my nails out while I waited for Leah to bring me the papers that required my signature. She was supposed to bring them ten minutes

Lunch with Adrian turned out be...nice, surprisingly. We talked about basic things about each other and he told me about Maggs, who turned out to be his aunt. He told me that she lived somewhere near the restaurant with her husband. She was his mother's elder sister and had a son who was a couple years older than Adrian. Adrian had a fond smile on his face as he talked about Maggs and it was clear to see that Maggs had the equal amount of love for him, if not more."Sometimes I can't decide whether to call her my aunt or my friend or even an annoying younger sister." Adrian shared with a hint of smile. It was a rare sight, Adrian smiling genuinely, not just a smirk or a mere amused expression, but a real genuine smile. It almost made me want to keep looking at him all day. But I did not. Because it would seem weird. And Evelyn White was not weird. We finished our lunch with light conversations here and there with him talking the most of course, and me co

I am honored to have such dedicated and smart people working with me to establish this brand here and I am very thankful for everyone. There were a series of claps as Eva shyly waved from where she was sitting.I continued. "There's another person I want to thank from the bottom of my heart for making this possible. Whoever said handling a baby was difficult, hadn't made the adult version of the baby named Adrian Isaac Stone."He better drink this or I'm going to kill him with my bare hands." I mumbled to myself as I opened the door to the hospital room Adrian was staying on. He was sitting up on the bed while his brother Aaron sat beside him. It had been three days since he'd woken up and the man had been complaining continually about having to drink soup every day. Granted, it wasn't not an ideal thing anyone would want to live on but still, there was no need to be so fussy. That wasn't even half of it. He had been throwing tantrums about everything. The bed was creaky for him- which it wasn't because I'd been sleeping in the same bed, the colors of the walls weren't to his liking, the hospital TV was dull, his phone wasn't beeping muc
