Hermes was parading around the whole room as he tried to keep his nerves in check. The meeting with the investors was about to start and he already knew that this particular meeting was going to be quite a tough one. His reemergence into society had come with a lot of heavy costs, costs which he had not completely thought out and now had to bear the consequences.

When he had taken his break, he had cut off a lot of people including a lot of the investors. He had disappeared without reaching out to them, he had only told them he was going away for a couple of months for a bit to conduct a solo research which would in turn help the business grow more. He couldn’t possibly tell them that he was running away because he had gotten a tip that people were after him. There was no way in hell the investors would keep up their trust in him if they knew there was any heat on him at all, given how sensitive the work which they were involved in was.
