Hundred and Sixty Seven

DAMIEN’S POV

I honestly don’t take her for someone who would bluntly ask a question and she proved me right immediately after asking. When she realized that she had probably spat out her inner thought, her hand immediately jolted toward her mouth and she covered it as if to take back the words that were already in my head.

“Your Highness, I deeply apologize. I am sorry. I do not mean to…. I have no intention of asking you that. You don't have to answer. I am apologetic, you shouldn't answer that” She blabbed while trying to somehow justify her sudden outburst.

I chuckled at her confused state and focused my attention on the laid-out bamboo bed behind her for a while, my thoughts bumbling back to how we ended up here. It wasn't far-fetched and I see no reason to keep it away from her when they were made to believe that we were dead. I understand her confusion and curiosity.
