STEVE'S POVToo much had been going on in my life, all in a short while of time that I had almost forgotten about the deal with the rouges. I think that was one of the most unwise decisions Micheal had ever taken. There were a handful of these decisions, but that topped the list. Before now, I could have never thought he would get involved with the rouges and even if he did, it wouldn't be as deep as he had let himself get in with them. And now that they were here to get what they were promised, I began to realize it had been nothing but stress and crisis since he got onto the throne. And the fact that no one was inclined to help willingly until they were asked to.It was as if they were literally forced to do something and if they had a choice, they would have gone for the second option. Working with them was tiring, and I had to always desk with the constant struggle of dealing with them. Not unless Micheal has learned to earn the respect of these people, leadership is going to be
MICHEAL'S POV"What are you planning on doing with them? You aren't going to just let them into the throne, are you?" James, who has been looking at me for most of the meeting, just staring and not speaking asked.I chuckled deeply, combed my finger through my silky hair, and veered around to address Steve, who was still standing by the door."Leave us, please" I instructed. He bowed respectfully and left, closing the door behind him."Why did you send me away, he knows every operation and deal that we do. There is no need for that I assume" James confusingly asks."Oh, there is a very hefty need for me to send him away at the moment. The less number of people you share your secret with, the more secretive it becomes" I responded casually."There is a secret to be shared?" James was still in the dark and needed me to put him through. James on a norm, prefers to stay within his lane. He doesn't get involved and doesn't ask unless it requires him to. I have been on a deal with the roug
NATALIA'S POVSince the last time I met Steve and he shared that piece of information with me, I have been extra careful in my dealings. I no longer wear that black signature clothes. Now that I even think about it, it was practically impractical since no one knew I was their mate only a few people. If I can stay away from such persons, I would be good to go. The only thing that black apparel did was put me in the limelight. And secondly, I tried as much as I could to stay indoors and only step out when it was utterly and completely necessary, one of those times being to get food. Apart from that, I was always cuddled up in a blanket and sleeping my life away. There were actually a lot of fun things to do around this house but I have been so fixed on loneliness that I didn't get to discover them. Now that I have my mind on really living here and making a life out of this place, I have begun to discover a lot of things. For instance, I found a stalk of different bird games in the kit
STEVE'S POVI don't know a lot of things about Micheal and James but I know for a fact that they trust me with every living fiber of their being. Michael especially so when he told me to love out because they were going to have a private conversation, it was a cause to worry. Either they were beginning to suspect me or they were planning something very nasty.I found out it was the latter because immediately after I closed the door behind me, I pressed my ear on it just to hear what they had to say. If they were planning something against me, I better not be taken by surprise. They have a plan, or rather Micheal has a plan. He was going to play the rouges in their own game and though it might get bloody at some point, he was ready to face that because he wasn't about to share the throne with them. At first, I didn't give much thought to the information and didn't really see any need for him to send me out when the information was of no use to me but after a minute or two of thinking,
NATALIA'S POVThree days later....For days I have been tied down to this chair, with no food, no water, and not even a space to move. The rope had dogged so deep into my skin that with each breath I took, the pain became even more unbearable. I couldn't take it anymore and all I wanted to do was to yell out to the universe to just take my life already, I was so fed up and tired of this. Why do all the bad things in the world have to happen to me? Why can't I live a life like any normal person and just be me? Why? Here I was thinking, my situation was the worst thing any person could find themselves in and then I ended up right into another trouble bigger than the one I was dealing with. The fact that whoever had me here had literally just forgotten about me was confusing, to say the least. The room that I was put into was literally empty except for the single armchair that was right at opposite of me and then the windows had dark blue curtains that made it so difficult for light to c
NATALIA’S POVWas I okay? I wasn’t even sure. I was so consumed by an immersed amount of shock that I had no idea whether I was okay or not. I was clueless as to how I was feeling. I swallowed loudly, the feeling so foreign to me after days of not being able to do that. My eyes trailed from one of their figures to another, trying to wrap my head around the fact that they were real and in front of me. Instinctively, I reached out to touch Kyle who was the one kneeling in front of me.My hand fell on his shoulder, a more confirmation that he was alive and in front of me. I wasn't hallucinating. Damn even if I was, why will I be seeing them of all the amount of people I missed. They were real. They were frankly genuine and were standing right in front of me. But the question that was stuck in my head was how did I not think about them all this while? How did I not remember and enquire about them? Now that my mates were no more, they should be the closest thing to a parent my kid would h
NATALIA’S POV“I thought you were dead at first and then news began to spread around the pack that the new leader was searching vehemently for you which was so confusing at that time. We searched too, hoping to reach you before any of them. We never gave up on our search and that faithful day we got you, it was purely coincidentally and you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. The news got to us that guards would be surveying this part of the pack today and we were out to keep watch so we caught you thinking it was a guard. It doesn't help that you were dressed in men’s attire” Kyle explained with the others sitting at each side of him.I, on the other hand, was sitting on the opposite side of them and listening attentively.“I don't understand, I thought you went out with them that night?” I asked, referring to my mates. Confusion setting in.“No, we didn't. No one did because they informed no one that they were going anywhere. It was all a work of Micheal to get them corn
STEVE’S POVI sat down at the single desk and chair in my room after I was done with my duty for the day. Making sure to lock my door first, I brought the pen and paper I was going to use to write the letter and placed it in front of me on the table.I wasn't sure what to write but I knew I had to write something very convincing if I really wanted them to believe my words were genuine and not just some created tales to come between them. Micheal is wise and would definitely deny anything of that nature has been plotted if they decide to approach him so I will need to come up with words convincing enough to make them just act and not go about asking.I twirled the pen in my hand multiple times for minutes on end, staring at the blank sheet in front of me and not knowing what to write. After additional minutes of silence and thinking, I finally came up with enough words to start up with. There won't be any need to greet so as they would know it was coming from someone from a higher leve
