MIRABEL POV

“Why didn't you tell me earlier?” I asked my voice barely above a whisper.

He smirked “Eat up, the foods are getting cold” he said

I nodded and continued eating, As I savored the last bite of my meal, Raymond's gaze lingered on me, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. I felt a flutter in my chest, unsure how to react to his intense attention.

"Thank you for the dinner," I said, breaking the silence.

He nodded, his voice low and smooth. "My pleasure."

As the hotel staff arrived to clear the table, I excused myself to shower. The warm water cascaded down my skin, washing away the fatigue of the day. Suddenly, the lights flickered and died, plunging me into darkness. I let out a startled scream.

Raymond burst into the bathroom, his voice laced with concern. "Mirabel, Are you okay?"

As the lights flickered back to life, our eyes met, and I felt a jolt of electricity. He stood frozen, his gaze roaming over my wet, towel-clad body. I felt exposed, vulnerable.
