Chapter 69: Feeding Him

It was clear that Antoninus' words had piqued Chris's interest.

"My classmate also has a gun," Chris said, his eyes wide and innocent, a familiar trick he used whenever he wanted something. Instead of directly asking for it, he would drop hints.

Sure enough, he continued, "His grandpa gave it to him! He said the gun is over a hundred years old but still looks brand new! It even has gold patterns on it, very, very beautiful!"

"Chris!" I couldn't help but remind him, "Don't forget what you promised your mom."

Chris turned to me with a pout, his deep blue eyes swirling with charm. He always had me wrapped around his little finger. "Mom, you have a gun too!"

I was taken aback for a moment. Antoninus, slow as he might be, had surely caught on to Chris's intentions by now. So, he leaned in, forehead to forehead with Chris, and indulgently asked, "Do you want one too?"

Chris cheekily chuckled, "I listen to Dad."

"Alright, Dad promises you."<
