Simpler but elegant

Around one o'clock in the afternoon, Jake decided to finally take Claire out on a real date. They both took their bikes outside to go riding around town. At first, they just rode around aimlessly for a good half hour.

But when Claire started feeling bored, they decided to find a nearby cafe to spend some time inside. They ordered coffee and a couple of sandwiches that they each got themselves.

While they ate, they talked and caught up on everything that has happened since they last saw each other. They talked about what they've been doing for the past couple of months.

They talked about how their siblings and Jake's parents had done in the past three months; how the business had been doing, the wedding preparations, etc. Jake had been so busy that he hadn't seen his sisters since Christmas break.

Their mother had decided that they would all get together to celebrate Christmas tomorrow with Jake's father and sister and he and Claire agreed that they'd all go out to lunch and dinner
