CHAPTER 5

Mitchelle's POV

I groaned against the sheets. My head hurts from the hangover. I stretched my hands and woke up drowsily. My eyes fluttered open as I realized that I was naked.

I sprang up immediately, moaning in pain. I looked around the room and I saw the unmade side of the bed, which meant that someone must have been here with me. Under the duvet.

I sighed and clutched my head. I searched around for my phone and found it inside my purse. I found another thing though; some cash and a business card on the floor.

I laughed in unamusing. I felt pain throbbing between my thighs as I forced my brain to register what happened. That I was raped by a stranger who leaves a wad of cash and a business card on the floor. Who the hell does that?

I whimpered in pain and cursed him in my heart. I pick up the business card which reads "Yates Company," and throw it in anger.

I pick up my phone and type a number I know too well. "Hi, Chole. Where are you?" I asked.

"My goodness, Mitch! Where have you been? Where are you? Are you okay? I've searched all over for you. You got me so worried."

I could imagine the look on her face. "I'm fine. I'm still in the club you know?" I said throaty.

"Wait what? What are you doing there and where exactly did you spend the night?" She asked bewildered.

"It's a long story girl. I'll tell you when I see you. Just come pick me up, please?" I asked with a pout.

"I'll be right there, stay where you are okay?"

"Okay, mum," I said attempting a laugh. I felt bad that I got her so worked up.

I managed to wear my clothes and pack my bags, putting the business card along with it.

"What happened to you girl? Why are you in a huge room all by yourself?" She asked immediately she got inside.

"Relax, I'm fine. I'll tell you about it when we get home," I said, walking towards the door.

"Why are you limping? Let me help you walk down the stairs," she said, holding my hand over her head.

We walk downstairs until we get to the taxi. She helps me inside and the taxi starts moving towards our house.

"Can you tell me what happened now?" She asked.

"In a random taxi? Nope. Not yet. Let's get home first."

"Whatever," she said, giving up.

She helps me get inside the house until I'm inside my room. Sensing privacy, my tears poured down immediately. I cried until she cooed me on her shoulders.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. It's fine. You'll be fine Mitch," she said patting my hair.

"I was raped, Chole. By a stranger!" I said, finally getting my voice.

"Wait, wait. Hold up. You were what?" She asked with widened eyes.

"He dropped a business card and some cash like I'm some cheap prostitute. I can't even remember what happened, but I feel the pain between my thighs. It hurts so much." I said again, beginning another marathon of tears.

"Sorry, Mitch. I'm so sorry. I never should have taken you to that party. Please, forgive me." She said.

"I can't remember anything though. What happened? Why did you leave me?" I asked.

"I didn't leave you, Mitch, trust me, I didn't. You were so drunk that you left me to dance with others. I went to refill my drink and you were gone. I asked around and you seemed to disappear into thin air. I searched everywhere for you, I really did. I couldn't find you anywhere, I'm sorry." She said, breaking down in tears. I hate to see her cry.

"It's okay Chole. From everything that you've told me, it's clearly not your fault. It was that bastard's fault. I will kill him." I said with anger

"Please, can you make me some soup? I have a hangover and I'm really starving," I asked.

"Sure! Anything for my best girl." She said, delighted to help.

"I'll go get a couple of drugs from the store for the pain," I say, not including that I will get pills also, just in case anything funny happens. I'm not ready to bear a child for anyone, especially for a random bastard.

"No, I can go to the store after making your soup," she said.

"it's just a small injury on my thigh, Chole. Stop overreacting, I'll be fine. I'm 25", I say limping towards the door.

"Be safe out there Mitch," she said before shutting the door close.

The pharmacy is two streets from ours. I tried to walk well to avoid attracting attention and entered the store.

"Please, give me "My way", I said to the elder woman who owes the store.

"For you? The pills, I mean," She asked.

"No, of course not. It's for an aunt," I answered with a pained smile.

She eyes me suspiciously before turning to search for the drug.

"Here you go. Cash or card?" She asked, handing the drug to me.

I realized immediately that I was with neither of them. "I'm sorry ma'am, left my card at home. I'll go pick it up." I said as she withdrew her hand from the counter immediately.

I sighed annoyingly and walked back towards the house.

The front door is open. I remember Chole shutting it close. I frown in confusion as I see a keypad on the table.

"Lucas?" I whispered inaudibly. I remember his car now, packed across the street. But what was he doing here? He always calls before he visits. Or did Chole tell him what happened to me? Dread washed over me as Chole's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Oh, I love that," I hear Chole's giggle from the room.

I heard my heart beat against my ribcage as I walked towards the room and opened the door.

"Chole?" I scream in wide eyes.
