I closed my eyes shut as my heart raced with fear, Lady Loretta swiftly slashed the blade across my palm, causing a sharp pain to shoot through my hand. I winced, feeling a warm trickle of blood seeping from the wound.

"Mother, have you lost your mind?" Rico exclaimed and banged his hand on the table causing all the food to fly up and scatter.
