Royal's POV

But to my surprise, the Alpha slowly released his grip on the dagger and took a step back. "Very well," he said, his voice laced with disappointment. "I had hoped you would be more loyal to your pack, but I can see that I was mistaken. It is in your nature as a witch after all," he snickered.

I took a deep breath and inquired, " Alpha, what is his offense?" I asked, staring at the man kneeling in front of us.

The Alpha chuckled loudly, and I could only stare. "Do you really claim not to know him?" He asked again and I shook my head.

"She never saw me Alpha. She was unconscious all through," the weak man said and I turned to him, looking confused.

"Have we met before?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yes Halfling, I was the doctor who treated you after you were found."

"Oh my….Doctor, what are you doing looking like this? What happened to you?" I asked as I rushed over to him, helping him to his feet and onto a chair.
