Chapter Hundred-One.

Emily’s fingers swiped across the dusty surface of the table, on which she leaned the several photos that she’d lifted up. The whole house was eerily silent since Isabella walked out the front doors with her coat.

And although it had been several minutes, Emily still wanted to talk.

She drew towards the kitchen tap, running her hands beneath the water and wiping it across a napkin. But all of a sudden, there was a shrill scream that alerted her from outside the windows. Immediately, she lifted her gaze, throwing it back at the door Isa had walked through.

“Isabella” Emily mouthed.

She charged towards the front porch, staggering her way down the steps and seeing a car pull away in the distance. Em halted, filling Isabella’s footsteps in the snow with hers and there was an uncanny feeling that immediately dawned on her. She searched her pockets for her phone but that was until she saw Isabella’s lying in the ground.

It seemed like she was on a call which immediately hung up.
