The room fell completely silent, that the sound of a pin dropping would have literally echoed throughout the entire hallway. Ezekiel and I exchanged quick glances, no words were said, but we communicated through our eyes.

His eyes then flickered to Eggust for a brief moment. Something about the way they stared at each other, made me feel certain they knew about grandfather’s dilemma.

I mean, Eggust was a total control freak, so he definitely kept tabs on his grandfather periodically. He thinks it’s his way of protecting his family, but that’s just a way to trivialize how much of a control freak he is.

Eggust wouldn’t send some random men to tail his grandfather, and that’s where Ezekiel comes in. They had definitely processed the news before the rest of us got a chance to- something about it made me feel unease.

Why didn’t he tell me? Or at least give me a hint?
