Three

MIA'S POV:

The doctor walked out of the lab with the test results in his hands. My heartbeat rapidly increased when he gave the test result to Liam who took a while before reading what was written on it.

I could see the shock on his face when he read the test result making me wonder what was written on it. I was about to ask him what was written on it when his mother spoke first.

"So doctor, what's written on the test result?" I heard her ask in anticipation.

"Congratulations Ma, you are going to be a grandmother" the doctor replied with a small smile.

"What? How is this possible? How am I pregnant for this man?" I yelled in shock as everyone weirdly stared at me.

"Just kidding, I mean I can't believe I'm really pregnant for Liam," I said with a nervous laugh to cover up my mistake.

Suddenly, we all heard a loud thud. I quickly turned and found Liam slumped to the floor looking like he just saw a ghost.

"Doctor, are you sure of what you saying? I haven't even met this girl before talkless of sleeping with her. I'm a married man and I love my wife so much, I… I… I can't cheat on my wife. Never" I heard him explain in despair as he broke down surprising everyone.

I felt pity for him as I approached him to maybe talk to him, only to get yelled at. I slowly retreated. I was about to leave the office when the next word I heard from him stopped me in my tracks.

"I'm impotent" he declared in tears.

"I can't impregnate a woman. Right doctor?" I heard him ask the doctor.

"There's no way I'm responsible for that pregnancy," he said as he looked at my tummy.

"Mia listen, you have to go out there and find who impregnated you because I'm not the one responsible for it because I'm impotent. Do you understand" he said as tears trickled down his face.

I was at a loss for words as everything seemed like a dream to me. Could this day get any worse? I wish all this would be a bad dream that I would wake up from.

"I'm sorry Mom for not being able to provide you with grandchildren. This is the reason why I've always avoided meeting you because I know that you will ask me for grandkids" he said amidst tears as he stared at his mom who was at a loss for words as she stared at her son, eyes wide with shock.

"Doctor, don't tell me that what I just heard is true," she said as she looked away from her son without saying a word to him.

"Why are you not saying anything? You are our personal doctor, right? So tell me how all this is possible" She let out her thoughts as she stared at the doctor who was mute.

"Don't you hear me Mateo?" she yelled as she finally broke loose.

"Actually, I have a confession to make" Mateo finally spoke up.

"Liam isn't impotent," he said with his head bowed.

I saw Liam's head shot up at Mateo's utterance. 

"What did you just say? You were the one that declared me impotent two years ago when I came for a check-up with my wife on why she hadn't conceived yet. So what are you blabbering on about now?" Liam asked all at once.

"I'm sorry, please forgive me" Mateo pleaded while on his knees.

"What are you apologizing about?" Liam's mom asked yet again.

"I… I faked the results" Mateo finally confessed and everyone gasped in shock.

"You what?" I heard Liam's mom ask as she advanced at Mateo and grabbed him by the collar.

"How can you joke with such a trivial matter? You are a doctor and you are supposed to be busy saving lives not busy faking results." my mom asked as walked close to Mateo and glared daggers at him.

Mateo was about to talk when he received a resounding slap on his cheeks.

I gasped in shock as I wasn't expecting him to get slapped by Liam's mom who finally let go of his collar.

"How dare you make a fool out of my son? You could lose your license because of this. Who paid you to do this? How much were you paid you motherfucker?" Liam's mom flared up in anger as she cursed and glared daggers at Mateo who was still on his knees.

"I didn't want to do it, but I was threatened and I had no choice but to do it. Please forgive me. I don't want to lose my license" Mateo pleaded in tears.

"Who the fuck threatened you to ruin my son's life?" Liam's mom asked in hatred for whoever planned to ruin Liam's life.

Mateo remained mute. He seems to be hesitating to speak up. Looks like he was really threatened.

" Don't waste my time young man. Speak up before I teach you a lesson you will never forget." she exploded as grabbed his hair and attempted to pull it out.

Mateo yelled in pain as he finally decided to speak.

All this while, Liam has been sitting on the floor and looking like all that was happening was a huge joke to make him feel better. He didn't seem like he believed that his trusted personal doctor could do this to him.

"It..it..it was Mrs Riley that threatened me to do this" Mateo finally confessed with his head lowered.

"Be specific young man, I know too many Rileys. Which of the Rileys paid you to do this?" Liam's mom warned.

"She held my wife and kid hostage and threatened to get rid of them if I didn't fake the result. Please forgive me, I don't want to lose my license" Mateo begged as he clasped his palm together.

"And I'm still asking for the identity of the person. Who the hell is this "she" that threatened you to ruin my son's life?" Liam's mom asked growing impatient.

"Mrs Riley Macdonald" Mateo revealed as he took in a deep breath.

"I was threatened by Mrs. Riley Macdonald to declare Mr. Liam impotent" he disclosed in one breath.

"What? Liam's wife?"
