"Who are you calling?" Desmond asked.
"Why are you asking me who I'm calling? I'm no longer your wife. Who I'm calling is none of your business."
"She must be calling her poor friends." Bella mocked.
"Mind how you talk to me, Bella. I'm never your mate. Though I don't blame you. I blame myself for reducing myself so low that you can talk to me anyhow you want. If not for the fact that I married your brother, you are not qualified to talk to me. People like you run errands for me."
"Stop blabbing. It won't help you. You are leaving, and you are not coming back." Bella waved a mocking goodbye as Anabel made her way to leave with a small bag.
"Don't come back begging, Anabel. I won't listen to you. You have the privilege to stay and be our house help, other than going out to perish. All of us know that you don't have anywhere to go. I'm giving you a chance." Anabel heard Desmond speak from behind. She paused and twirled her head towards him. "The last thing I will do is to become your maid. I'm going, and I will never come back begging; you will be the one to do that." With that, she sauntered out of the room.
"Who does she even think she is?" Bella said as the door closed behind Anabel.
"She's nothing. The foolish woman thinks she's walking away with her head held high." Mrs. Elizabeth said with gleaming eyes.
Bella snorted, "After everything that my brother has done for her, she has the nerve to threaten him?"
"Threats from a scorned woman mean nothing. She'll realize soon enough she can't survive without Desmond's wealth and influence." Mrs. Elizabeth added.
"You think she'll come crawling back?" Desmond asked, and her mom nodded. "She'll beg for forgiveness once reality sets in. Mark my words. But we won't let her in.
"Yes." Bella's eyes sparkled with malice. "I'll make sure she regrets ever crossing us."
They were still talking when they heard a car approaching and went to check through the window. They were surprised when they saw the car stopping by the gate.
"Is that not the latest version of Rolls-Royce? That car worth millions of dollars." Desmond exclaimed.
"Is that the person she called? Is she going to enter that car? No way!" Bella couldn't believe it.
As Anabel approached the car, they saw the car door opening. They were shocked in disbelief when Anabel got in and the door closed black.
"Mom, she just entered the car!" Bella exclaimed.
"I said it. Anabel is a whore and a gold digger. She had already hooked up with a very rich man. No wonder she wasn't crying when she was signing the divorce paper. This must be the reason she wasn't bothered with the money. She may think she's about to enjoy life, but she's just getting close to her destruction. They will use her and dump her."
"But how did she land someone like that quickly?" Desmond asked.
Bella snorted, "She must have been playing you behind your back."
"Let's forget about her and focus on our future and the baby. I think we need to celebrate this precious soul growing inside of me. "A little party won't be bad." Daniella said, trying to draw all attention back to her.
"Yes, it deserves to be celebrated. You put smiles on my face in less than three months, unlike the barren slut. I don't regret hooking you up with my son."
"Thank you, Mommy. I'm going to give birth to a beautiful baby for your son." Daniella purred.
"Yeah, you are beautiful, and my brother is handsome. I won't be surprised if you give birth to an angel." Bella said.
"So, Honey," Daniella wrapped her arms around Desmond. "What will you gift me?"
"What do you want?" Desmond asked.
"I want a brand new Rolls Royce. The latest version." Daniella answered.
"I have up to five expensive cars parked at the garage. You can take any of them anytime you want. What is mine is yours."
"I want my own. The one bought in my name. I'm carrying your baby."
"Son, Daniella deserved the best. She's about to give you what Anabel couldn't give you for two years."
"Yes, brother." Bella chimed in. "She's carrying your heir."
"Okay, fine. I will buy the Rolls-Royce for you." Desmond finally agreed, and Daniella squealed. "Thank you, darling. You are the best."
Daniella's eyes gleamed as she hugged Desmond. She had him right where she wanted. The Rolls Royce was just the beginning.
Midway during the dinner that same day, Jethro cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention.“I have an announcement,” he said with an exciting smile, and the room fell silent. Stacey smiled, knowing he was about to tell them about their engagement."I don't want to hear it." The mom said, thinking he was about to announce his engagement with Stella, not knowing they had broken up and he had engaged her favorite girl. The girl he had wanted her to marry."Are you sure you don't want to hear it?" Jethro asked with a smile. "It's not what you are thinking."The mom stopped eating and looked up at him. "Didn't you propose to her? I told you she's not good for you, and you went ahead and proposed to her." "I actually went to propose to her and caught her cheating on me." He stated, and both parents looked up at him."You deserve it. Yes, you deserve it. We have told you this several times. I'm happy you caught her red-handed. Sh
"You think you are dealing with me, but you are shooting yourself in the leg. My mom warned me about you, but I continued to swim in our love." "We are done talking, Jethro. I want you to get out of my room right now. We need to continue from where we stopped, or do you want to watch live porn?""Young man she said you should leave. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" The man asked."You are the one who is supposed to be ashamed of himself." He turned to Stella. "I will leave, but remember, if you ever come back to me again, I will never accept you back." Jethro said."The last thing I will do is to come back to you, begging. I have everything I want now. I don't need you.""I will go, and soon, you will realize you lost everything." He picked the flower and left the house. He could hear Stella laughing behind his back....Jethro drove into the garage slowly, his hands gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. The engine hummed quietly as he sat there for a moment, staring
"For your information, this is not the first or the second time. All those things you were suspecting were true. But you caused it. I loved you so much, but you made me change my mind.""How? What did I do to you?" Jethro asked in confusion. He couldn't remember doing something terrible that would warrant the current scene. "Why will you cheat on me with Stacey?" Stella asked. "You think I'm not aware?"Jethro's mind flashed back to the period Stacey visited. But he was alone with Stacey and Anabel. Did Anabel tell her? He was sure she couldn't do that. Besides, he only kissed Stacey."What are you talking about?" Jethro asked."Stop talking as if you are innocent. I saw the text when you told her how you missed her. You have been seeing her at my back, and you think I will not find out?" Stella said, and Jethro replied. "I've not been doing that. Who told you I'm seeing her?""I don't need to ask anyone. You are a cheater, so I decided to show you how to cheat properly, and this is
The next day, Jethro got prepared. He got the diamond ring and a very expensive flower bouquet. He was wearing a blue suit. He considered that day a special day.He texted Stella he was coming and checked himself in the mirror. He was satisfied with who he saw in the mirror. He tugged his tie and made his way out to the house. He got to the garage and entered one of the keyless cars. He was very happy. He can't wait to see how she will react. He drove off and headed straight to Stella's apartment. He got to her apartment and got down from the car. He took the flower and the ring and moved into the apartment. It was a very big story building. As he was coming closer, he began to hear faint moans. The lady was screaming, but he could barely hear it."How can someone be screaming this loud?. Crazy people." He murmured, but as he was getting closer to her room, he began to hear the moan growing higher and higher. "Stella must be very angry by now. Why would this lady be disturbing the bu
Everyone turned to him with curiosity. "What is that?" The mom asked.“I’m proposing to my girlfriend tomorrow.” He answered and the room fell silent. His mom's smile faded instantly. It sounded like good news, but to her, it wasn't. Rather, it was bad news. A very bad one. “You are what?”“I’m proposing to Stella.” Jethro repeated, still smiling. “I’ve made up my mind.”Sir Orton set down his fork. “Jethro, we have talked about this. We have told you several times that she is not fit for this family.”The mom shook her head. “So this is the good news you wanted to share? That’s not good news, Jethro. We have told you again and again—Stella is not the right girl for you. You have complained that you suspect she's cheating on you. Now you wanted to marry her. Has she bewitched you?"She asked, but Jethro’s expression hardened. “I'm just suspecting, but I don't believe she's actually cheating. She can't cheat on me. Not after all that I've done for her. I love her. And she loves me. Tha
After ending the call with Desmond, Anabel sat on the edge of her bed for a moment, smiling to herself. The warmth of his voice still feels alive in her ears, and the memory of their evening together plays over and over in her mind like a favorite song. She stood and walked to her wardrobe, pulling out a soft cotton robe and a fresh set of nightwear. As she changed out of her dress to a towel, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror—her cheeks still slightly flushed, her eyes brighter than they had been in months. Love had a way of softening even the hardest days. She made her way to the bathroom, the soft click of the door behind her muffled by the quiet hum of the night. The moment the warm water from the shower began to fall, she closed her eyes and let it cascade over her. As she lathered her skin, her thoughts drifted back to Desmond—his smile, the way he looked at her across the table, the way his lips felt in hers when she kissed him. The way she felt when he was th
