CHAPTER 29

"Could you please focus on the food in front of you, honorable Mr. Antony?" rebuked Ruby, who was annoyed that Victor kept staring at her with the sound of forks scraping against plates. The screeching sound annoyed her.

"Don't mind me. Finish your meal; do you want more?" said Victor. He placed the fork in his hand and leaned back slightly with his arms crossed.

Ruby also put down her spoon and fork. She pulled out the glass and gulped down all the water in the glass. The more Victor's eyes looked at her, the more Ruby misbehaved. Ruby was still keeping her pregnancy a secret from Victor, giving the excuse that she had a history of stomach ailments, making him stare at her relentlessly.

"Why did you stop? You said you were hungry? There's still a lot of food you haven't eaten," Victor said, pointing at the untouched plates. Victor couldn't believe Ruby's voracious appetite; the pile of plates almost filled the round table that could only accommodate two people.
