Alexa:
I try to hide myself in the dark because I knew I would be in deep trouble if Talia finds out about what I had done. But, I was too late already.
Talia found me, and when she saw her sister laying on the floor in her own pool of blood, she screamed out loud. Her screams caught the attention of so many people in the mansion.
The Alpha came rushing to us when he heard his daughter scream, and I immediately fell on my knees. I wasn't ready for what was going to happen next.
"What have you done? What did you do to my daughter?" He yelled at me.
I watched some maids take Tasha out of the room, and when she was lifted up, I could swear I saw a smirk on her face. I did not understand it at first, but when he landed a resounding slap on my face. I fell on the floor and suddenly knew what Tasha was trying to do.
This wasn't just a simple payback. She was trying to kill me
"Call the auctioneer, we need to get this witch out of here immediately."
I fall on my knees and grab his feet, begging not to be sold. I knew exactly what I was doing, and getting sold was the best option. I simply had to pretend I didn't like it in order to push him further to do it.
I had always dreamt of leaving the mansion, and getting sold was the only way out.
Two men came towards me and dragged me away from where I was seated, and I was taken to the storage room and locked up.
There, I shut my eyes and decided to fall into a deep sleep. I wanted to be in my own dream, and I wanted to see him again tonight.
I figured out I always had realistic dreams about a man. I could vividly describe him because it always looks so real whenever I'm in that dream, and there isn't a moment of pain in my life whenever I'm with him.
I call him, my knight in shining armour.
I huddled myself, waiting patiently for the sky to be bright once again, and a new buyer would arrive to take me away.
I silently prayed it would be the man I see in my dreams everyday, and even when I shut my eyes and fall into a deep sleep, I still found him in my dream again.

"Take the forest part Alexa, it's the only safest place around here."
"No father. Don't leave me behind."
"Alexa, no matter what, you have to run and stay safe." He handed a pendant to me which I was reluctant to collect. "Keep this. Do not let anyone know who you are." My father told me.
How could I understand what he was trying to say to me when I was just 10. "Where's mother?"
Instead of providing an answer, he pulled me into a tight hug. "I love you my angel." "Father, wait. Father, where's mother? Don't leave me father, don't please I'm begging you." It was already too late. He took off running and slowly began changing into his wild form.
I watched in horror as he tore into pieces the people who were standing right in front of him, and those who were blocking his path. I was scared of everyone and everything so I shut my eyes in horror. From behind, I felt a hand grip me, but then I screamed out loud.
"Let me go. Father, they're taking me away. Fatheeeeeerrrr!!!" That was the last I remember because when I woke up, I found myself back in the mansion where it had all started.
*****
"Fatheeeeeerrrr."
It was only a dream, and I was sweating profusely. I tried not to be scared because I had only myself in the entire world. No one wants to have anything to do with me after my father and mother's death.
I had no idea how my mother died, but I did know how my father died. I am always all alone in the scary room with no one by my side. I try to stand on my feet, but a heavy force pull me down and I am unable to resist.
My stomach was hurting so bad because I had nothing to eat since. Just as the grumbling sound came again, I huddle myself in the dark room waiting desperately for when the door would be open and I would walk out
"Hey… come out." I heard a deep loud and manly voice say to me.
The mansion guard came towards me and pulled me up on my feet because I was too weak to even stand up. He dragged me out, but I didn't fight back and I wasn't going to fight back.
He continued pulling me till we got out of the mansion. I was forced to get into the car.
Sitting alone, a tear fell from my eyes. I knew my life would surely take another turn entirely if I'm sold, but I didn't know what was awaiting me out there.
We soon got to the auction house. I could hear the loud voices of strong Alphas, betas and powerful people. I became scared all of a sudden. Living in the mansion was enough misery, but then it might get worse if I'm sold.
I was forced into the house and made to go on my knees behind the curtains. Neither my uncle nor his daughters were here.
I silently waited behind the curtains, expecting to be called anytime soon, but no, it wasn't happening. Just when I had given up all hope, the curtains finally opened.
Everyone was staring at me, and the once loud chanting crowds became quiet once my face was showed to them. I could hear their endless murmur, until it became louder. They were calling me all sort of names. They were angry, they called me beast, witch and every name that I didn't deserve because of my past.
"Now ladies and gentlemen, you don't wanna miss out on this one."
"Bring someone better lady." I heard an old alpha say. I was simply disgusted.
"Listen to me everyone. She'll only be sold to the first person that steps out here in 2 minutes for only 500 hundred dollars, so who's in. Whoever takes her had the free will to do anything to her."
My heart began thumping so hard against it's ribcage. Whoever steps out in the next two minutes would become my master and I would be left to serve that person probably for the rest of my life. I didn't know what to expect, but even for suck cheap price, no one was forthcoming.
2 minutes passed, and it turned into 5 whole minutes, but no one wanted me. My uncle had said he would kill her if I returned back home.
I was about to be dragged off the stage, but then there was a loud voice.
"I'll take her." He said.
His face, I couldn't see his face before I was being dragged away ready to be sold to him. To the beginning of my misery.
ALEXA:Not long after, I was forced into another car. I desperately wanted to see the face of the man who had bought me, but I simply wasn't allowed to see his face. The car continued moving and for a very long time, it didn't stop. I had no idea which pack or which place we were heading to, but I had a bad feeling that it wouldn't be somewhere good. A few more hours time, I was allowed to step down from the car.I did so and was lead to a very huge mansion which was more like an estate to me. The house was magnificent and it had so many maid working in it.I didn't spare any one a glance for a second time but continued walking and walking till we got into the house. I was led to a room and forced to go in.It was dark in here. I could absolutely not see or hear anything, but then my heart nearly jumped out from it's ribcage when I heard his voice."Come closer." He said.I froze at my spot, unwilling to move or take a step towards him. Besides, how was I supposed to move further if
LEVI:"Sir, the shipping of the goods has stopped. Alpha Xavier demands for even more than you offered him earlier." I halted the moment I heard him. I turned around to look at Aiden who was my best handbag. He was the closest to me and he was my beta too."Why?" I questioned."I have no idea. That greedy bastard always wants more from you."I heaved deeply, tucking one hand into my pocket. I simply hate being tested, I hate being made a fool of, and I hate being given instruction. "Tell everyone to back down. I'll go there myself.""But, it's fucking dangerous. Xavier knows you'll come and he had his men on the look out for you. It's simply a trap.""That's why I wanna go, because it's a trap. It's time to show that motherfucker who's boss and who to mess around with."I continued walking, heading straight into my Mansion. I'm Levi Grayson, 25 years old and the next capo di capi of my organization. 15 years ago when I was 10, I lost my father to the cruel hands of Alexa's family.
ALEXA I felt a stinging pain on my ass and yelped in shock, my eyelids fluttered as this most certainly was the last thing I wanted. Was he going to molest me again? The question flashed across my mind, the truth was I didn't know if there was a way to react to this man, for at that moment only one thing was certain in my mind he was a devil from the pit of hell. The tiniest flicker of disdain intertwined with lust passed through his eyes and I knew I was right there In a mess, he looked at me with that same disdainful look. Whatever emotions I was feeling at that moment, it was hidden by one —pain. I could tell this had a lot to do with pride, he was such a man that he wouldn't want his ego bruised and yet it looked like I wouldn't want to give myself to if he asked. Even though it was far, far from the truth, it was sort of admirable and I couldn't help that sick feeling. It was like I wanted to throw up; it was the only thing I had in me at the moment. “So, don't just stand
ALEXA I might not have the right to hate him at the beginning of all of this but at this moment if there was anything that I hated it was definitely this man, he had to be the devil in wolf flesh, and after meeting me, after he had taken advantage of me, and after what he had just done moments ago it left me with no choice. As it was at the moment I had every sensible reason to dislike him— A knock came from the door and as I opened a maid walked in with what looked to be the silliest of dresses. It was black as I had always thought but too small to fit and short at the same time but not wanting to make him angry, I put it on anyway. For some minutes, I stood right there In front of the mirror staring at myself. Bracing myself on the edge of the mirror, tears trickled down my eyes. I thought to myself why everyone was being unfair to me, there had to be a reason why. Standing there not able to wrap my fingers around anything, I thought to let myself go with the waves of fate a
LEVI I stood, and before I even knew it was in my hand, a glass was shattering across the wall of the room. My chest heaved heavily in rage as I was pissed at how my body acted whenever I was with her. It shattered with a crash that shook the entire room. I took a deep breath and shook my head, i was certain She definitely heard my rage though had the doubt that that he knew it he reason why. My gaze paused on the trail of white alcohol trailing to my feet from where it had broken. If there was one thing I could not get off at the moment it was most definitely hate, try all I could it was hard to get over that sick feeling at the back of my head each time I looked into her face and I hated myself for it. For start, I was just learning how to let people into my life after staying all to myself for a long time and as if isolating myself wasn't enough, I had to deal with her too. I resented parents who killed my father and most of my family, though that was years ago the nightma
ALEXA Levi had to be a total jackass for wanting to lift me out of the car like I weighed nothing— As soon as he had pulled out of his side of the car and yanked the door on my side open, I’d hopped out of the car. I had already been humiliated enough by the incident and the manner at which he was screaming at me and didn't want that to happen anymore. In a way I just wanted to forget about it and put it behind me. But I couldn’t do that, not with the manner in which he was looking at me. If anything could change, if I had it in me to stand up to him at the moment I lost definitely would. As it turned out to be at the end there would always be charred remains of myself —and possibly a part —reminding me that he was the only wrong person to that with. Sure, as it turned out he was a disgusting creep, but as it turned out to be I was enslaved to him and there wasn't much I could do. "Levi." It was the first time I was saying names and I wondered what guts I had to do so. At the
ALEXA "Why do you want to know?" He suddenly went defensive, whoever this lady was I was certain she had a lot to do with him. It was not mere coincidence that she Walked up to where I was, and it was not coincidental that she was acting this way too. "I don't know, I just feel—" His laughter pitched through the room till I felt embarrassed. "So, I take you out once and you feel all important." "It is not —" "Get away from me." He said with a growl. Perhaps, the name sparked off something in him. I was a bit surprised at the sudden temper but at that moment I knew the best for me at that moment was to leave. We stared at each other for another moment. He walked back to the dresser while I took a slow step back, before turning around and heading to the door. Stopping at the door, I turned— I stood there and watched him, as my mind Kept racing. I kept wondering if I could put up with all of this, a part of me hated all of this, I hated myself. He had to be the most devili
LEVI I spent all through the night tossing and turning on the bed because I was totally pissed at myself, the moment she had asked about Athena it triggered off something dark deep inside of me. For start Athena was a part of my past, a part I just wanted to scrape off and start all over again— As it turned out, seeing her at the party opened up that part of my soul I thought was buried,a part I so much wanted to get rid off. It turned out that Alexa didn't help matters as well. She was settled on uncovering every part of me that I thought was weak… I knew there was no way she would have known that we used to be together, yet the way she said her name, the way Athena rolled off her lips with familiarity made me almost crazy. It was as though she touched a vulnerable side of me, one that I spent most of the past trying so hard to bury. Aside from having to deal with the manner at which my heart was racing at that moment, she totally gave me a sleepless night thinking all through
LEVII shifted a little in my chair, impatient for the council meeting to get to the stage I had been dreaming about all these days. I looked around at all the pack members seated in the council chamber. All eyes were trained on the front of the room, at the round table where the men who would give fair judgment on who was to become Alpha, sat. I was not the only one stealing glances around the room. Zale, who was a claimant of the Alpha title sat at the end of the table also, opposite from me. It was obvious that he was in a state of barely suppressed excitement. His eyes met mine, and he smirked before looking away. I hid a grin. He was in for a shock even though he did not know it yet. There was a loud thump that echoed around the room. Conversation ceased immediately. One of the chief council members, the one with a grizzled beard slowly got to his feet. "Brothers of the pack," he called in a carrying voice. "You all know why we are here, to decide on who becomes the true Alpha
LEVI"It's your son, I can't find him anywhere!" Mia fidgeted, her eyes sunken with fear..I immediately stood up from my chair in a panicked state."Where was the last place you saw him?"I asked Mia, barrelling past her."In his room,I went downstairs to get myself a drink and answer a few calls then came back to find him gone." Mia rambled, following closely behind me just as panicked as I was.I tried to calm myself as I practically ran to the security room…I was still pissed about finding out that Zale was responsible for my father's death and now this!I needed to focus. There was no way my son could just disappear without a trace.I took in a deep breath as I got to the security room and sat down. I began to surf through the security footage, trying to calm my racing heart.Mia was right by my side, scanning the footage from between one hour ago and now. I could practically hear her heart beating her chest. She was afraid and normal I'd comfort her but I was just as panicked as
ALEXA As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I spotted Zale seated at a table at the rear of the restaurant, fidgeting and checking his watch. He looked around, but did not spot me at the entrance, as a couple of people were leaving then, blocking his view of me. He was obviously eager to have the ring in his possession, even though I was still five minutes early for our scheduled meeting. "Hi, Zale," I said as I lowered myself into the chair next to him. He started a little, having been engrossed in checking his wristwatch in what had to be the umpteenth time. "Alexa." His face split into a wide grin. His eyes danced with barely concealed excitement. "Just who I've been expecting. It's good to see you." He looked me over, his gaze lingering on the fitted dress I wore. "You look really good... Better than you looked at our last meeting."I shrugged. "I guess it's the satisfaction of taking my own pound of flesh.""Of course. Of course. I like the way you think. Only hypocrites
LEVIIt was night time and Alexa was getting ready to go over to Zale's to hand him the fake ring.Despite the simplicity of the plan, I couldn't help but to be worried about her and the plan. I wasn't one to scare easily but when it came to Alexa's safety, I was.I watched her through the window as she walked towards the car that was to take her over to Zale 's place. I still didn't like the idea of her meeting him but in order for us to be able to trick him, she had to.The starless sky was not helping the niggling feeling I had at the back of mind either. I know why but I felt really off about the plan. Alexa had told me I was being paranoid when I had mentioned my concerns to her earlier and I had taken it as the reason but right now I wasn't so sure.As if she could sense my eyes on her, Alexa turned around and our eyes locked through the window and she frowned as she noticed the worry in my eyes. She tore her eyes off mine and quickly glanced at the driver to say something I cou
LEVII walked towards Mike who was making his way towards me.'How'd it go?’ I have a question. He heaves a breath and buries his hand in his hair, “Nothing out of the ordinary really,” he starts, leaning against a nearby wall, “They just went on and on about who the new alpha is going to be and how the choice is going to be made this year. Apparently they’re making special efforts to ensure it isn’t the same as the previous year.” He explains and I nod in understanding.“Makes sense. Did they mention who exactly who the competitors this year are?” I asked, taking the spot beside him.“To be honest, it wasn’t really clear, they didn’t state it plainly,” He scratches the back of his head, an apology in his eyes, “They however mentioned the top two contenders are you and Zale.” He finishes, his gaze studious.“That’s…good?” I muss, my hand rubbing against my chin, an impulse I had picked from Alexa. “And the supporters? Enemies?”“We actually have quite a number of people on our side,
ALEXAI told Mia about Levi's text and we drove to Levi's office. The traffic was on my side. It was light and we got to the office in record time. As soon as I pulled in front of the building, I looked into the rearview mirror, schooling my expression into the expected one of fury. Mia waited in the car. I marched past the smiling doorman, completely ignoring his greetings. The other staff scurried out of the way when I directed my scowl at them. "Where is he? Levi," I demanded of the receptionist. "He's upstairs," she said, wide eyed with surprise. "Up in the conference room."Without another word, I went upstairs, already muttering angrily to myself long before I spotted Levi. He stood with his back to the wall, sulkily regarding people who passed by him. "There you are, you piece of shit!" I screeched as loudly as I could. I pointed an accusing finger at him as I marched towards him. As I had hoped, every eye in the corridor became fixed on me. Levi gaped at me, his expressio
LEVIMy attention was half on what Mike was saying. I was lost in thought, thinking about what Mia had told me. It had come as a shock to realize that Mia had been under Ryan's thumb all this while, doing his bidding. I was grateful for whatever lucky chance had made Alexa eavesdrop and hear Mia's conversation. The sound of my phone ringing brought me out of my reverie. I started a little. "Alexa's calling," Mike said with a glance at my phone which lay between us. I grunted, picked up quickly. "I'm listening," I said as soon as I picked up the call. Mike leaned forward to talk to the driver, and I used that opportunity to shift a little to the far side of the car. This was not a conversation I wanted him to overhear. "You already left the house," remarked Alexa."Yes," I responded."I hope you still remember the plan.""Yes."There was a brief pause. Her tone was somewhat annoyed when she said, "Why are you answering me in monosyllables?" I swallowed, racking my brains for the b
ALEXA"Ryan?” I ask, trying to contain my anger.Mia’s stares at the flower arrangements behind me unwilling to meet my gaze.“I believe I asked you a question Mia. Why the hell would you do this to Levi?” “Answer me!” I snap.Mia fiddles with the hem of her dress, she opens her mouth to speak but no words come out. Alexa pulls her by the arm into an empty changing room, “Now we have some privacy. You better start talking.”Mia paced about the tiny cubicle. “I’m sorry.” “You’re sorry?” No no no! We haven’t gotten to that part yet.”“This is the part where you give me a damn explanation for why you’re stealing from your own brother.”“I..I don’t know. I just.. I mean its Ryan” Mia stutters,“I’m racking my brain searching hard for a good enough reason but nothing except its Ryan.” She huffs, “I never know how to act when it comes to him. It’s almost like I lose all self-control, like I don’t have a mind of my own. He asks me to do something, and I do it without question.I watch Mia
ALEXA"Alexa-" Levi murmured, then paused, gauging my reaction. With a sigh, I left our son's crib. I really didn't want to have the conversation he was sure to bring up right now. I needed time to process all he had said to me before. I left the nursery, hoping he would take the hint and drop the issue. I went to the bedroom, sat on the bed, but Levi was still right behind me. "We need to talk, Alexa. Please," he said. "You have already said everything there is to say.""But you haven't given me an answer yet.""Look, each of us has a lot to do today. So why don't we just drop this?" I suggested. "Both of us will function better today if you give me an answer. Let's leave the past behind us and face the future together. Marry me, Alexa.""It's not as simple as that," I grumbled. "But it is. The complications are all in your head."I bit my lip. Levi was wrong there. It was not that simple. I had been through a lot at the hands of Levi. There was an elephant in the room. Levi had
