Chapter 426 Verna’s Dilemma

In the days that followed, Lambert became unusually cooperative with his treatment. It was as if he had completely come to terms with everything, regaining his usual cold demeanor, though now with an added sharpness.

During his hospital stay, Verna came by every day to bring him food, to the point where even Horace knew that Lambert had a new admirer, who seemed to be a rather nice girl.

"Lambert, you really are lucky. Girls just keep flocking to you, one after another. Not like me—I'm rich and handsome too, but no one seems to like me!" Horace joked, clearly in a good mood seeing Lambert’s recovery.

Horace immediately panicked. "No, please don’t! My parents are already nagging me about getting married. If it weren’t for my busy work schedule, my mom would never let me off the hook."
