Chapter 364 Determination

As Horace changed Lambert's IV drip with practiced efficiency, he spoke, "I already knew without you saying. Heard you caught Odelia and are planning a press conference. Your dad found out, right? Honestly, Lambert, even if this is what you intend, you shouldn't handle it so recklessly."

"No time," Lambert replied curtly.

"Come on, Lydia's been misunderstood for days. What harm could another day or two do? Besides, talk to your uncle first; once he's on board, the rest will be easier."

Lambert closed his eyes slightly. Horace had a point; he could afford to proceed cautiously.

But he knew his father well.

Since his mother's death, all warmth within him seemed buried.

He resented Odelia, blamed Lydia, perhaps even blamed himself.

If his father knew Odelia was in his hands, he might not agree to reveal the truth, perpetuating the rumors forever.

Wasn't he gambling now, hoping his father still had a trace of compassion left? It seemed he was losing that bet.
