Chapter 0005

{Arthur's pov}

"what do you do?" she asked, what am I supposed to answer?

I kept my gaze fixed on the road as I drove her home. Her question about my job caught my attention, and I decided to answer her.

"Business," I replied, my voice low and nonchalant. "I'm a businessman." She nodded on the response before saying, "you must be rich then," her voice was laced with admiration and her eyes were fixed on the road.

I couldn't help but smirk at her comment. She wasn't wrong. I was richer, richer than she could ever imagine. But I kept my composure, not wanting to come off as arrogant.

"You could say that," I replied, my voice casual. "I've made quite a few successful deals in my lifetime." She nodded and her face turned in my direction, "business of what?"

I wasn't sure how much I should reveal. But something about her curiosity and innocence made me want to tell her the truth.

"Property, mostly," I replied, my voice low and guarded. "Real estate, development, finance..." her face laced with a smile, she seemed interest in business. the way she was curious.

"You're awfully curious about my job, aren't you?" I asked, my voice a mix of annoyance and amusement. "well sitting in a Rolls Royce, everyone will be curious about what the owner does." she shrugged off and again shifted her gaze from me towards the window.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her response. She had a point. Not many people had the privilege of riding in a Rolls Royce like this.

"So you're impressed by the car, not the driver?" I asked, a hint of smugness in my voice.

"you were trying to impress me?" she questioned, her eyebrows narrowing, I chuckled again, enjoying her sassy attitude. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and it was refreshing.

"Maybe I was," I replied, a smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth. "Is it working?" she scoffs before speaking, "definitely not, Yeah but I may say I am thankful that you saved me thrice by coincidence." she stretched the word coincidence.

"you don't believe me?" I questioned, the way she stretched the word showed she wasn't buying the excuse of coincidence. "if you say so." she replied.

I smirked under my mask at her response. She was skeptical, but she didn't press the issue further.

"You know," I spoke, my voice low. "You have quite the feisty attitude for someone so innocent."

"who is innocent here?" she asked, her face laced with a frown and Disbelief. I chuckled again, enjoying her defiant attitude. She might have the body of an innocent, but her mind was sharp.

"You, sweetheart," I replied, my voice firm. "You're innocent. Fresh. Untouched."

"what do you mean?" her expressions turned into a serious one, she stared at his face.

I could feel her gaze on me, studying my face, even though she couldn't see my eyes. I met her gaze, my face stoic and masked.

"Exactly what I said," I said, my voice gruff. "You're innocent. Untouched. You have the body of an innocent woman, but your mind is sharp as a knife."

"how do you know? that I am untouched?" Her reaction didn't go unnoticed by me. I could see the fear flicker in her eyes, but she was trying her best to hide it. I leaned closer towards her, my voice low and dangerous.

"I can tell," I said, my voice low and gruff. "It's written all over you. You're untouched, pure, innocent in all the ways that matter."

"it's here," she pointed out completely ignoring my statement and looked at her house.

"And you work two jobs, just to survive in this place?" I asked, my voice gruff and full of disapproval.

her eyebrows squeezed as she looked at me,"Pardon?"

Her surprise at my question only added fuel to the fire. I clenched my jaw tighter as I looked at her in disbelief.

"You heard me," I repeated, my voice gruff. "You work two damn jobs, yet you live in a dumpsite like this?"

"Excuse me? just because you helped me doesn't mean that you can say anything about my home. it will be better if we never cross paths again. I and you are from completely different societies. Goodbye and thank you." She stepped out of the car and walked inside the house leaving no chance for me to reply.

As I sat there, watching her small, run-down house, I couldn't help but feel a pang of concern and anger. She was right, we were from different worlds, but that didn't stop me from wanting to protect her, even if she didn't want me to.

{Luna's pov}

I walked inside and Immediately locked the door, Through the window I looked at him who was still sitting in the car staring at the door. I flinched by the sudden voice and turned around just to witness my dad there.

"what happened Luna?" he asked, and I immediately shook my head as in no indicating that nothing happened.

"you look tense, whose car is that?" another question from his side came, I could feel his protective side taking over, "Just a friend Dad, let's go I will cook something for you." I tried to Change the topic and succeeded. as I glanced at the window I witnessed the car was gone. A sigh escaped my mouth as I pushed my father's wheelchair towards the kitchen.

"Luna," My father called while chopping the vegetables as I was boiling the noodles, I hummed indicating him to speak further.

"Stay away from rich people, you never know what they can do and what power they hold." a frown made its way on my face. and then I realised why he was saying that, because of the car.

"sure dad, I will make sure I stay away from them." I spoke and he smiled at my words.

after Having dinner with my father I walked towards my room just to witness one of my plushies fallen from the shelf, assuming it happened because of a mouse or wind I kept the plushie back, as I turned I witnessed that the window was open. as much I remembered I closed them last time when I left my room.-Maybe dad opened it.

shrugging I Walked inside the washroom to take a shower, I was very exhausted and weak.

{Arthur's pov}

"Thank God I stepped out at the right time or else I would have been caught by her." I watched from the shadows, hidden from her sight, as she walked over to the window and closed it. She looked tired and weak, probably exhausted from working two jobs.

I knew I shouldn't be there, lurking like a creep, but I couldn't help myself. I wanted to know more about her, to make sure she was safe and far away from any harm.

As she headed towards the bathroom, I saw my chance. I quietly slipped into her room, the room where she slept, and began to set up a small camera, to give me a view of her room.

{Luna's pov}

I walked out of the bathroom wrapped up in a towel and sat on my bed, my eyes fell on the window, -oh! I forgot to close it.

getting up from the bed I walked towards the window and closed it.

walking towards her closet she took out an oversized shirt and slipped it onto her body and once the dress covered her body she threw the towel on the chair.

throwing her body on the bed she took out her phone and started scrolling it.

{Arthur's pov}

I watched from the camera as she walked out of the bathroom, her body wrapped in a towel. My breath hitched at the sight of her bare skin, but I quickly pushed the thought aside.

She walked towards the window and closed it, and I couldn't help but smirk at her naiveness. Little did she know, the camera was already set up, giving me a view of her room, giving a direct view of her bed.

I watched as she slipped on the oversized shirt and threw the towel onto the chair, giving me a brief glimpse of her body. My eyes widened with excitement at the sight, but I kept my composure, reminding myself that I was here to keep her safe, not to ogle at her.

I watched as she fell asleep, her eyes closed and her breathing steady. The shirt she was wearing hiked up a little, revealing her slender legs.

I had to remind myself to keep a cool head, to not ogle at her like some creep. But it was difficult, especially when she looked so innocent and vulnerable in her sleep.
