Aira’s POV

As soon as Alexander left the room, I was overwhelmed with emotions.

Too many things had happened in such a short time, and my heart was swirling with mixed emotions, confusion, relief, and maybe even a hint of fear.

I tried to gather my thoughts while resting on the bed, but my moment of peace was interrupted when the door suddenly opened. Four guards entered the room.

“From today onward, you are free to leave this room,” he continued. “However, as per Alpha’s orders, you are not permitted to go beyond certain areas. We will be accompanying you at all times. If you need anything, you must inform us first. You are not allowed to make decisions on your own without consulting us.”

My jaw tightened. So this is how it is?

Alexander had finally allowed me to leave this room. He was no longer keeping me locked away. However, there was a price to pay.

"Where is he?"

“The Alpha is currently occupied. If you require anything, we will be stationed outside your door.”

Aira’s POVAfter spending the afternoon with him, we finally returned to what I assumed would be our shared room.“You’ll stay here for now. I’m going to take a shower,” Alexander said in his usual calm and authoritative tone. Before I could even respond, he turned around and walked straight into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.Left alone in the silence, I took a deep breath. Why did he bring me here? What does this mean?I reminded myself of the truth I had already accepted. I was just a breeder to him. That’s all I ever was.I forced myself to sit still, trying to shake off the uneasiness settling in my chest. The sound of running water from the bathroom filled the room, but my mind was too preoccupied to find comfort in it.Then, all of a sudden, the door creaked open.Startled, I jumped from where I sat, my heart hammering against my ribs. My gaze immediately darted to the doorway.W-What is she doing here?Standing at the entrance was Cassandra. The last time I saw he

Aira's POV"Hmm,” he hummed after I lied, looking at me in the eyes. “You can rest here," he suddenly said, his voice calm yet firm. "Don’t go back to the other room where I usually have you stay."His words confused me. I didn’t understand why he suddenly wanted me here, but I didn’t question it. Instead, I simply nodded and followed his lead. Once I settled on the bed, exhaustion took over me. As I was about to close my eyes, I felt the bed shift beside me. My breath hitched when I realized Alexander had also laid down next to me.My heart started pounding rapidly in my chest.I felt his arm wrap around me from behind. My body stiffened as his warmth enveloped me, his strong grip pulling me close. His breath was hot against the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. Then, his deep voice whispered near my ear."I want us to go to the healer’s territory. You need a prenatal check-up."I bit my lower lip, feeling a mix of emotions swirl inside me. Aira's POV I cried so much last night that I didn’t even realize I fell asleep. When I woke up, I found myself lying on the cold, hard floor.A sharp pain shot through my head, making me wince. How did I even end up here? Then, it all came rushing back. Last night, after everything that happened, I had come to this room, slid down onto the floor, and cried my heart out. I must have cried so much that exhaustion finally took over, and I fell asleep right here.Glancing at the clock, I noticed that it was already late. That was strange. Usually, by this time, one of the maids would have brought food to my room. But today, there was nothing. Was this because of what happened with Alexander yesterday?I shook my head. No matter the reason, I couldn’t afford to skip meals. I had a child to nourish and protect. I got up, dusted myself off, and straightened my clothes. After fixing myself up, I stepped out of the room and made my way to the living room. A voice suddenly called out, stopp

Alexander’s POV“Alexander, we need to talk!” The door to my office suddenly burst open.Cassandra stood there, her face tight with anger. I let out a deep sigh. I had just finished dealing with the situation with Aira, and honestly, I was still drained from it. Our conversation had exhausted me. And now, without even a moment to breathe, Cassandra had stormed in.She stood stiffly in front of my desk, her eyes burning with frustration."My father has left," she said flatly. "He's gone back to our village."I nodded, unsurprised. "I know," I responded calmly. "I gave orders to Kyros and Lucius to ensure that he left safely."She fell silent for a moment, her lips pressing together. But I knew that wasn’t the real reason she had come here. There was something else.I leaned back in my chair, exhaling slowly. "Just say it, Cassandra," I told her, my voice firm yet resigned. "Whatever it is that’s bothering you, just get it out."She clenched her fists at her sides, her breathing uneven.

Aira’s POV“Please… tell me, what do I need to do?”Cassandra smirked at me, her eyes gleaming with something I couldn’t quite place. My heart pounded erratically, an unfamiliar mix of apprehension and anticipation coursing through me. I didn't know why or what had gotten into me, but one thing was certain—I had no other choice. She took a step closer, her gaze raking over me from head to toe before she finally spoke.“There’s a party tonight,” she said smoothly. “It’s the three-month celebration of my marriage to Alexander.”Her words hit me like a brick wall. My breath caught, and I swallowed hard, my mind reeling. Three months. It had already been that long.Three months since I had been brought here.Three months since Cassandra had arrived. And now… three months since they had been married.I should’ve felt something—heartbreak, devastation, anger. The old me would’ve been a wreck, completely lost in a whirlwind of emotions. My chest should’ve been heavy with pain, my mind drowni

Aira’s POVAs soon as Alexander left, I rushed to the window and sat on the ledge. A deep sigh escaped my lips as I rested my chin on my knees. At that exact moment, heavy rain began pouring outside, drumming against the glass like an unrelenting storm. It felt as if the sky itself was mourning with me, matching the weight of the emotions suffocating my chest. My thoughts spiraled back to everything Alexander and I had been through—the pain, the betrayals, and the fleeting moments of warmth that I once clung to.I still couldn't shake off the fear that Alexander intended to kill me once I gave birth to his child. The thought alone sent a cold shiver down my spine. And yet, another question haunted me—was Cassandra truly helping me for the sake of her future child, or was this all a selfish scheme for her own future?Doubt clouded my mind, but in the end, I made my decision. I would take the risk. I would escape.Memories of Alexander resurfaced, refusing to fade despite my desperate a

Alexander’s POV“Alexander, isn’t this great? Look at them—they’re all enjoying themselves. They look so happy at our dinner party!” Cassandra said, her voice high with excitement. Her bright smile barely hid the way her eyes sparkled with pride. She had been saying similar things since the event began, often pulling me aside to gush about how perfect everything was. It was as if she had orchestrated every single detail for the benefit of the pack and to showcase our union. The guests, dressed in fine attire, mingled around the feast, laughing and enjoying the evening, but I felt none of the joy that she radiated. Her words repeated in my ears, but my mind was elsewhere—on Aira.I couldn’t stop thinking about her. My heart had not calmed since our last encounter. The way she had looked at me, almost as if she were hiding something. The way she’d hesitated when I asked her questions, avoiding my gaze like she was trying to hold something back. I had gone to visit her earlier, but as

Aira’s POVI forced myself to keep moving despite the burning ache in my legs. Every step felt heavier, my breath coming out in ragged gasps. The abandoned road stretched endlessly ahead, and the darkness around us only made it worse.“W-where are we going?” I asked the maid, my voice barely above a whisper. I was struggling to keep up, my vision blurring slightly from exhaustion. But she didn’t answer right away. Instead, she glanced at me over her shoulder, her expression indecipherable, and then she shouted.“Just keep running!”I tried to push forward, but my legs wobbled beneath me. My entire body felt like it was shutting down, the weight of exhaustion pressing down on me. Panic gripped my chest as I instinctively placed a protective hand over my stomach. My baby. I wasn’t just running for myself—I was running for the life growing inside me. But I could feel it—I was reaching my limit. If I didn’t rest soon, I would collapse.“There!” she suddenly pointed, her finger jabbing th

Aira’s POVI watched Ezekiel quietly as he rested, recovering from the healer’s treatments over the past few days. His face was still pale, and the faint traces of pain lingered, but he looked better than before. I felt a mix of relief and worry as I observed him in silence. He had fallen asleep before the healer came back. He had regular check-ups to make sure his wounds were healing properly. My eyes stayed on him, but for some reason, a heavy feeling weighed down on me as I stared at his still form. The healer stood up and turned to me, giving me a reassuring glance.“His condition looks good now,” she said. “Just call me if the pain worsens or if the ointment doesn’t work.”“Thank you, always, for your help,” I replied to her. She nodded and left without a word.Once she was gone, I sat by the edge of his bed, unable to take my eyes off him. All I could do now was wait for him to wake up. But it wasn’t long before I felt my eyelids growing heavy. I could barely keep them open.“I

Panic was etched into his face. But I was done listening. Fury clouded my thoughts, drowning out reason. I yanked my wrist free, “Get lost!” I shouted, my voice trembling from the rage surging through me.I turned to Ezekiel, ignoring Alexander’s broken expression as I reached out to help him. Ezekiel grunted, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip.“I don’t ever want to see you again,” I spat, my words aimed at Alexander like daggers. My pulse raced as I watched his expression crumble.Alexander’s eyes widened, disbelief washing over his face. For a moment, he was utterly still, the weight of my rejectio

Aira’s POV‘Aira…help!’I jolted awake, my heart racing. My breathing was ragged as I struggled to shake off the remnants of sleep. Blinking rapidly, I realized I had fallen asleep on one side of the couch in the mansion’s living room. I quickly sat up, rubbing my face, and turned to look at the clock. It was already late at night.Ezekiel.A sudden wave of unease washed over me. I glanced around, searching for him, but he was nowhere in sight.“E-Ezekiel? Are you here?” My voice came out shaky as I pushed myself up.I moved carefully, my hands instinctively cradling my lower abdomen. I had to be extra careful for the baby. Taking a deep breath, I turned on the lights. The moment the room illuminated, my breath caught in my throat. Ezekiel’s POVI wasn’t surprised when I woke up and found myself in a dark, damp underground garage. The air was thick with the scent of oil and rust, and the cold concrete beneath me. And then I felt it—a sharp blade pressed against my throat. My breath hitched for a brief second, but I quickly regained my composure. My life hung in the balance, teetering on the edge of that very blade. Yet, I refused to show fear. The wielder of the weapon? None other than him.“Alexander,” I muttered, my voice steady despite the lethal situation. Our gazes locked. His expression was cold, his eyes brimming with restrained fury. But me? I smirked. I refused to let him see me waver.“What brings you here, huh?” I taunted, my voice dripping with amusement. “I knew I caught a familiar scent while I was resting. Let me guess—after Aira and I fell asleep, you made sure to drag me here, down to this underground pit, away from her eyes.” My smirk widened. “You didn’t want her to see what you’re up to, d

Ezekiel’s POV“Where is Aira now?” I asked the moment I returned to the mansion."She's upstairs, Alpha Ezekiel, in her room. Just reading her book," the maid replied respectfully."Does she ever leave? Has she disobeyed me?" My voice was firm, searching for any sign of defiance. The maid quickly shook her head. "No, Alpha. She never tries to escape. Ever since the security around the mansion tightened, she hasn't stepped outside. She stays in her room most of the time. When she does move around, it's only within the mansion—often visiting the nursery and the study room."I nodded, absorbing the information. Good. At least she was staying within bounds.Without another word, I ascended the stairs to the third floor, where Aira’s room was located—the place I always left her. My fingers curled tightly around the small velvet box in my hand. Inside it was a necklace—a gift for her. Whatever her reaction would be, it didn’t matter. I had already decided.Standing before her door, I knocke

Amelia’s POV“I need to leave. There is something I needed to take care of.”I didn’t wait for Alexander’s response, nor did I need his permission. I turned my back on him and walked away without a second thought.Something about him felt off. I had a nagging feeling that Alexander was lying to me. But if he was lying, he wouldn’t get away with it. I knew him too well. I had spent enough time by his side to recognize when he was hiding something. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.I had been watching her closely, waiting for a moment when she’d let her guard down. And that’s when I caught her.I overheard her speaking in hushed tones, her voice laced with urgency."I need to go to the pirates," Cassandra said.I edged closer, careful not to make a sound. My breath hitched as I strained to hear every word."Tell me, who were the people that came from the pirates?" she demanded.A maid stood before her, shifting uncomfortably. She looked nervous, her hands fidgeting with

Aira’s POV“Aira, are you okay?”I looked up to see Ezekiel standing in front of me, concern etched deep into his eyes. "Yes, I’m fine. Don’t worry too much about me. You should’ve taken care of your own business instead of coming back."He shook his head firmly. "I’ll stay here tonight. I want to make sure you’re okay before I leave tomorrow. You need to be careful." He reached out and cupped my cheek, the warmth of his palm grounding me. But despite his gentle touch, my thoughts drifted to Alexander.True to his word, Ezekiel stayed the night. I appreciated his presence, even if it made my heart feel heavy. By the time morning came, he finally left, and I couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt gnawing at me. I barely had time to gather my thoughts before Alexander returned. My cheeks burned as I invited him upstairs. I couldn’t hide my embarrassment, but Alexander just smiled, his eyes softening as he looked at me.“I wanted to surprise you first,” he said, taking my hand. Before I cou

Aira’s POVI had no choice but to accept my situation. Locked in this room, I couldn't go out anymore. Deep down, I knew it had something to do with the necklace. It was the only thing that made sense. Ezekiel must have picked up Alexander’s scent from it—after all, he’s an Alpha with heightened senses.A frustrated sigh escaped my lips as I tried to calm myself. There was no point in panicking. I needed a distraction—anything to get my mind off this mess. So, I made my way to the nursery room in the mansion. The workers were busy, expanding the room and making it more suitable for a baby.“How’s the arrangement going?”One of the workers looked up, surprise flashing across his face. “Oh, Ms. Aira, it’s you. We’re almost done.”I nodded, watching as they painted the walls a soft, calming shade of blue. The faint scent of fresh paint hung in the air, and I wrinkled my nose. The nursery was filled with baby supplies—clothes, toys, and tiny furniture. To keep myself from going crazy wi
