Her inference was that it was Ivory that must do them, but they were too far beneath her. So here was her mother in all her glory, looking down her nose at Ivory like she smelt something bad. Ivory was her only pup, and she’d always been her favourite person. Even her father played second to Ivory, which was greatly to his disliking.
