I had been working like a madwoman for hours, arguing with one intern after another with whom I got along very poorly, as there was always the arrogant guy who thought he was right and desperately sought to contradict my instructions. Unfortunately, all they achieved was to annoy me even more, so I ended up piling even more tasks on everyone without exceptions.

So, exhausted by so much tension in the air, I ended up escaping from the emergency room to walk around Lucila's room and make sure of her condition.

However, before that, I stopped to buy coffee for myself and for the blonde, who I was sure wouldn't get any sleep all night, especially now that Cody didn't seem to have the courage to show up after learning that Lucila was his daughter.

Seeing me arrive, Victoria got up from the chair where she had been silently crying while her daughter slept peacefully. She wiped her tears with trembling hands, and I handed her the coffee with a faint smile, which she returned gratefully.
