I was absolutely stunned by Mike’s comment and confession. I knew he was struggling and wasnt connecting with his son but to outright decide to give him up? I just couldn’t understand it. How could a father do that?

…and then I realized. He wasn’t a father. He hadn’t bonded with Jenson. Looked after him, loved him. Hell, I was more of a father to that boy than he was… and then the pain of losing him set in. I had grown really attached to him in the time he had been living with me and Peyton, before then even.
