Moore.

I stared blankly at the papers thrown at me, my eyes watered and blinded by tears as I struggled to compos

e myself.

“I will go, Grey, but not without knowing the terms of this divorce,” I groaned, forcing the words out.

“I don't think you understand what you're getting into, Moore,” Nora spat for the first time since I arrived. I turned, my eyes glaring at her with a look of death. “Are you so clueless or just pretending to be ignorant? You signed some papers when you were arrested, didn't you?”

“And how does that relate to my question?” I asked, still in disbelief as I looked at her. How could I have surrounded myself with enemies?

“You're really clueless. You signed that no properties would be given to you after you returned. I mean, you weren't even supposed to return anyway,” she countered, with mockery in her voice. “I see why you got disowned. I would have done the same if you were my child.”

My eyes widened in shock. My hands shook vigorously as I stared at the papers in my hands. “You mean I am to leave here with absolutely nothing?”

“You signed it voluntarily,” Grey shrugged. “Enough talking now, just sign the damn thing. Your presence is already irritating.”

I nodded, fighting the urge to break down. “I'm not signing this. Never!” I roared, my body vibrating with intensity. “I'm going to sue you for this, I am!”

My outburst of anger only sounded like a joke as both parties snorted with loud laughter.

“Moore, look at you,” Grey said, recovering from the laughter. “How do you even expect to get yourself a lawyer? Your dad won't help you, he banished you, and don't forget you don't have any inheritance. You traded all that away to me.”

“Arrrgh!!” I screamed in agony, my nostrils unable to let in air. I clenched my chest, the pain reactivating and taking over my whole body. “You will never get away with this, I promise.”

“You know the best way to get revenge is by dying,” he retorted, picking up the telephone. “Henry, get your ass here. I need you to throw someone out.” He stared at me. I wished I could pick up a knife and push it into his wicked heart. I badly wished to see him die in my hands. I wanted to hear him beg for the life he so much took away. He killed Logan just to get rid of me. This man took a life!

“Signing that is just to let you know this marriage is over. If you don't know, I will have them force you,” he said, putting down the telephone.

“What have I ever done to you?” I asked, my gaze directed at Nora, my best friend since college. “What was my offence, Nora? What was it?”

“Nothing,” she breathed, her eyes smiling. “Nothing aside from being a constant reminder that with people like you, I'm a nobody who isn't recognized by anyone. You have been a thorn in my flesh, Moore, and I'm not sorry for seeing you like this. It's all I have always wanted.”

“You!” I spat, spurring up to her, but I was caught halfway by a firm hand.

“Behave, lunatic,” the voice ordered, pushing me roughly away, and I hit my head on the floor. He squatted down on me and grabbed me by the hair. I squinted in pain as I was being dragged out.

“Get your filthy hands off me!” I groaned, forcing myself off the stronghold of Grey's guards who were forcefully pushing me out of the room alongside my belongings. “Get your hands off me.”

“If you had signed as instructed and walked away quietly, you wouldn't be dragged like a lowlife thief,” Nora said, her voice resounding alongside her steps as she walked down the stairs. “You never learn until you're taught a really critical lesson.”

“Let her sign the papers and throw her out afterwards,” Grey announced. “You should try to live well. If you try anything stupid, I will eradicate you with no traces.”

“You will regret this,” I roared as I was forced to sign while he only chuckled before going upstairs with her, both holding hands.

The guards picked me up after I was forcefully made to sign and pushed me out of the building. I was out in the streets of Italy, wandering around with no destination in mind and left with nothing but the same bag I had with me from the prison.

With eyes blurry and my feet sore from walking, I sat devastated on the roadside, watching the cars go by while I reflected on my life.

Should I return home? Will Father, Emily, and everyone else in the house accept me back? How do I even go home!

I pushed my hands helplessly into my dishevelled hair as hot tears gathered, pouring freely as I buried my head in my hands. I was only thankful for one thing. The only person I could think of was Nicole. I pushed my hands into my jean pocket to retrieve the address she had given me.

She was probably resting, but I needed her help regardless. Thank goodness her home number was there. I walked over to the young man sitting a few steps away from me and requested his phone.

Luckily, he understood my plight and lent me the phone. I put a call across and whoever it was picked up almost immediately.

“Nicole?” I called before the receiver could say anything.

“Yes?” Her husky voice aimed out and a loud shriek of happiness escaped my mouth, my eyes filled with tears again.

“Nicole, it's me, Moore.”

“Moore, oh my goodness, is this your number? Are you...” she paused, I bet she noticed my silent whimpers. “Are you crying?”

“Nicole,” I broke into full-fledged tears. “Nicole.”

“My goodness, where the heck are you?” she asked, curiosity laced in her voice.

“Somewhere here in Venice. You can trace me with the phone, I'm too disoriented to know,” I replied, turning apologetically to the gentleman whose eyes bore extreme pity for me.

“Good!” She snorted. “Stay there, I'm coming.”

Moore"Moore," Nicole called, running towards me and engulfing me in a swift hug. "My goodness, Moore, who did this to you?""Nicole," I replied, my voice hoarse, as I turned to the gentleman who bid me farewell and went on his way. He had been kind enough to wait until Nicole arrived."What happened?" she asked, disentangling from the hug. I stared at her in shock and admiration. Just a few hours with family, and she looked way better.I couldn't say anything. I just held her hands. "I want to go home," I whispered. I didn't care what they thought of me; I just needed to be home. "I must return home to my family."Nicole nodded. I believed she knew I was too depressed to speak. She pushed me gently into her arms, and I whimpered silently."Let's get you out of here first. Then you can tell me where your family lives," she said softly.I nodded and followed her silently to a red sports car. She had always told me she missed racing, and I could tell she was a good car racer from her ch

Lucien.Six years ago, at the vibrant age of twenty-six, I was rejected and publicly humiliated by nineteen-year-old Lady Moore Quinn, the extremely beautiful daughter of Lewiston Quinn.News, billboards, and even gossip had taken over the humiliating rejection for years until this present moment. Not even the news of her imprisonment could wash away the vibrating anger surging through me every damn day her name was called. I wasn't satisfied she was punished, obviously for a crime caused by her husband, the peasant beggar she rejected me for.And each day, I dreamed of nothing but giving her a taste of her own medicine. I had to take her out of jail to quench that hunger. She was obviously not how she used to be six years ago. Her family owed me, even after her father asked me to take her little sister, I refused. It was her I wanted! I wanted the world to know she's at the lowest after the chronic humiliation. No one was allowed to make her suffer. I was so angry I decided to punish

Moore.“I can walk!” I yelled angrily at the man carrying me on his shoulder as I was roughly shoved into the car parked in the parking lot.“You behave or the Boss will have you whipped,” the big guy with a tattoo ordered, causing more fear in my already shaken self.I let out a dry laugh. “You don't think this is the '70s where I get beaten for trying to protest? I'm not frightened by your mere sleazy words.”The big guy glared, his eyes shooting warnings at me to keep my mouth shut. He didn't immediately close the car door, leaving it wide open. I knew trying to dart out of the car would be pointless, but I still did it. I couldn't let them think I was some stupid submissive.“I see you only act on impulse, young woman,” the tattoo guy said, catching me and throwing me back into the car. I yelped in pain as my head hit the other door of the car.The windows were tinted, so I couldn't see where Lucien went. They had two cars with them anyway.“Moore,” my sister called, and I raised

Lucien. The car pulled up, and I walked upstairs, choosing to follow the steps rather than use the elevator.Lillard opened the door wide enough for me, and I walked in, Athena sitting pretty on the couch, obviously waiting for me.She stood up, her hands wide as she pushed herself into my arms. “Where have you been, huh?”“I'm getting married to Athena,” I blurted, patting her backside, but she shoved herself away from me, her eyes boring into me with disbelief.“What?”Now that's what I hate most. I can't possibly repeat that when I knew she heard me vividly. I sighed, feeling extremely tired and repulsive. A feeling I had with me the very minute my eyes met that of Moore.Without replying to her, I dismissed Lillard and Damian and carried my steps through the stairs. Whenever I'm tired, I tend to do that to regain more energy and think with a clear head. But I regretted immediately not going through the elevator as Athena followed suit, anger emitting from her.“What did you just s

Moore.“Good Heavens!” I blurted, hurrying back to my room. Did I just see a naked man?I'm not new to such sights. I used to be a married woman before the unfortunate events that led me to this pathetic situation. And now, to make matters worse, I had been too impatient to wait for him to open his door before barging in.I had wanted to talk to him, to negotiate. I couldn't accept this fate because of a mistake I made years ago. I wanted him to do me a favour, but now it seemed I couldn't ask for anything after barging in on a naked man who I believed hated to see me around. The pretty girl had shown me to my room, which was the least luxurious I was expecting. I couldn't settle in. The pretty girl, whose name I didn't know, had mentioned that his office was adjacent to mine. Being extremely restless, my survival instinct pushed me without thinking towards the forbidden room. And now, of course, I have seen what I shouldn't have. Before I could think of a way to remedy my carelessnes

Moore.A slight knock on my door woke me from my sleep. I rubbed my eyes, trying to make sense of my surroundings. The knock persisted, causing a slight murmur and an intense headache. I groaned as I sat up, my memory slow to grasp my new surroundings. The knock came again with a slight push, and Emily and Madam Isabel entered my room."Goodness, Moore, you didn't even change out of your dress. Did you cry yourself to sleep?" Emily asked.I squinted. God, where the hell am I?"It's late already, and Mr. Giordano will be upset if you keep him waiting. It's not good to delay a groom," Emily continued."I know you don't want this, neither of us do, but there's absolutely nothing we can do about it," Madam Isabel added."Wedding?" I asked, surprised at how lovely Emily looked in a white floral dress."Don't tell me you're still this slow-witted after all these years, child," Madam Isabel chimed in.I'm always like this—slow to remember things whenever I just wake up, especially if I had a

LucienI walked past her door. As much as I hated her, I still wanted to watch her cry and beg in anguish. Those were my reasons for having her room next to mine.Any random person would be upset at my deadly hatred for her. Why did I harbor such resentment? She's the one person I swear to inflict as much pain on as possible. She isn't meant to be happy, and I'm committed to showing her what real pain is.I walked down the stairs to pass specific instructions to my workers. As I entered the room, they, twenty in all, bowed to me.I don't like many people in my space, but over time, I’ve needed to keep the house clean. I dismissed the staff whenever I saw fit, but knowing I have visitors from time to time, especially family who visit without notice, I can't have them leave the house a mess. But today, none of them will be available; Moore will do all the cleaning after everyone is gone."Good morning, Mr. Giordano," they all chorused, bowing respectfully. It’s my wedding day, and I bet

Moore. The car surprisingly didn't take the route leading to the church. I glanced at the driver, but he had the same mean look as the other guy from last night. After what seemed like forever, the car pulled over at a resort. I was shocked. Why was Lucien giving us a fairytale wedding? This had always been my dream—to take my vows with the love of my life in an open space. Grey had called it shallow back then.I stepped out just in time to see my father approaching, forcing a smile.I smiled, not at my father, but at the fact that I was doing this again, both times with the wrong partners."Ready, Moore?" Father asked, extending his hand. I nodded, taking his hand as we walked through the crowded people.I marvelled at the crowd. For heaven's sake, this marriage was supposed to be discreet."Did you know about this large turnout, Dad?" I asked, feeling sceptical as we walked down the aisle. The venue was beautiful, surrounded by tall pine trees and a waterfall just before where we we

Moore"You should have stayed home. I swear Mr. Lucien only invited us to humiliate you. You should’ve hidden your face in shame," Nora sneered, her words dripping with malice.I turned, my lips pressed into a thin line.It had been almost a month. A month of silence, of swallowing my pride, of pretending their betrayal didn’t matter. But standing here, listening to her spit every cruel syllable, I realized something.I didn’t need to be ready to put these people in their place.I didn’t need to prepare to bring them down. They deserved to be beneath me, and I would make sure they learned that.I shifted my gaze, meeting Nora’s brown eyes first before flicking to Grey. His eyes, black or whatever dull shade they held, were nothing but amusement, the kind that made my stomach twist. Not in anger. In disgust."You even went ahead and married someone who hates you, just to get back at us. How petty," Nora continued. She must have been holding that in for a long time.I almost wanted to l

MooreI stepped away from Lucien, feeling his gaze burn into my back as I made my way toward the wine cellar. The weight of the room's attention pressed against me. Men, women, and every other guest had their eyes locked on me—from the moment Lucien and I walked onto the podium, through his flawless speech, and now, as I moved through the grand hall. It was as if I had become the centerpiece of the evening, an unspoken statement that demanded attention. What had shocked me the most was Lucien taking me on stage in the first place. What was he trying to prove? He was never one to flaunt anything, least of all, me. And yet, there had been something deliberate about the way he did it.Then there was the ring.Lucien's wedding band had been firmly in place.I could swear I had never seen him wear it. I don't even think he had one with him just as much as I loothe putting on mine. I have never worn it before, and I didn't tonight. He wasn't even there while I exchanged vows with his status

Arthur“What a pretty property you own there, Lucien Giordano.” I said, stepping closer to the man of the hour, whose beautiful wife had just left him.It had been a long time since I last laid eyes on Moore in person. Six years, maybe. But tonight, the moment she walked down the podium with Lucien, held like some trophy wife, I nearly laughed.Wasn't she the same woman he had married to uphold his status instead of him? Lucien Giordano never failed to amuse. One moment, he was cruel. The next, impossible to read.Lucien turned to face me, the faint scent of his cologne shifting with his movement. His lips curled into a smirk that made my skin crawl. This was the first time in seven years I was in the same proximity with him.“I buy things worth it with my money, Arthur Lumberton.”He wasn't different from Lucien of seven years ago. The proud, arrogant and full of himself man that had stared deep into my eyes with no warmth and called me a thief.I felt disappointed at the fact he re

The slit on the left side revealed her long, smooth leg with every elegant step she took. For a minute, despite not showing it—I felt lost. And then, for the first time in my life, I felt something else.Jealousy.The thought alone burned through me like wildfire. What if someone else was staring at her right now? What if some bastard in this room thought they had the right to admire what belonged to me?My fingers curled at my side as my jaw tightened. Why did my heart feel so constricted? Why was I this angry?Moore stood before me, Lillard standing a step behind her, while she simply stared at me. Her eyes. Those deep blue eyes that I had tried so hard to forget since we arrived in Thailand held something I couldn’t quite place. Shy, yet bold.It did something to me. Something I would rather die of than admit. She was beautiful. I had known that from the moment I first

MooreThe moment we arrived at the grand hotel, I braced myself, expecting to see Lucien waiting for me. My heart pounded, and I adjusted my top, mentally preparing for whatever confrontation awaited me. But instead of being led to him, I was directed to a lavish suite, too large, too beautiful, and clearly meant for me alone.I exhaled a long, shaky breath, unsure if this solitude was a blessing or a curse. The suite had everything my room back home didn’t. Luxury wrapped in every corner. Yet, despite the elegant furniture and breathtaking view, it oddly reminded me of Lucien’s room. Memories of my brief encounters in his space rushed back. The first time was on our wedding night, when I walked in on him with Athena Fucking. The second, when I saw him stark naked, every inch of him burned into my memory before I could turn away.My face flushed with embarrassment. Gosh, that was beyond humiliating. I remembered how he had stormed into my room moments later, looking like he was ready

MooreThe kitchen felt heavier today, the usual warmth replaced by an unsettling silence. Sam stood by the counter, stirring a bowl of batter absentmindedly, her face drawn and her shoulders tense. She barely said a word since we started cooking, and the air felt extremely thick with unspoken thoughts.I glanced at Loretta, who met my eyes with a knowing look. We both knew something was wrong. Sam wasn't the type to stay quiet for this long, Ever since I got accepted by them, she was more eager to talk as her curiosity will make her ask questions upon questions. But the way she sighed every few minutes was enough to make anyone worry."Alright," I said finally, wiping my hands on a towel. "What's wrong, Sam?"She shook her head quickly, a forced smile tugging at her lips. "Nothing, I'm fine."Loretta snorted. "That’s the worst lie I’ve heard all day." "I can attest to that fact myself. I know a terrible liar when I see one.”Sam’s shoulders slumped, and she let out a shaky breath. "

Lucien “I don't need to further stretch this out. Tanaka will address this, since it was under your watch something destructive as this happened.”The conference room in Bangkok was suffocating with tension, the kind that made men shift uneasily in their seats despite the frigid blast of air conditioning. Twelve days. Twelve relentless days of chaos, and now it was coming to an end. I had come to Thailand believing whatever this is will take nothing less than two days to get over with. The companies associated with the leaks are more than three, something that made my men and I worked tiredlessly on paperwork alongside the Authorities to be able to eventually get a hold on the companies involved. But then, something as that will not happen if people within my company aren't involved. And those are the one getting judged today. The investors sat rigidly in their seats, their eyes flickering between the large screen displaying the final report and the two men standing by the door

GreyThe numbers on the screen blurred as I stared at the financial reports spread across my desk. My hands trembled slightly, the weight of my losses pressing down on me like an anchor. The red figures seemed endless—debt upon debt, losses piling up faster than I could even attempt to salvage anything. My company's shares were in freefall, and with every passing hour, the damage only grew worse. The phone on my desk buzzed relentlessly, but I ignored it.I had been subjected to monitoring things from home as the company is a shadow of itself. And seating right here in my study, sweating profusely only meant that I'm screwed. At first, it seemed like Lucien had eased his grip, giving me room to breathe. I was wrong. He had only stepped back to strike harder. Now, every shareholder had withdrawn their investment, products were being returned in bulk, and staff were quitting in droves. I couldn't even keep up with the outdated debts; I had been forced to take out loans, using my house

AthenaI was still in shock, my hand held up in midair, stopped just before it could land on Moore's cheek.Lillard's grip was firm, not rough, but tight enough that I could hardly move. My nails curled into my palm, a slow burn of frustration simmering under my skin."Let go of me," I hissed, jerking my arm in an attempt to free myself, but he didn’t budge. His face remained impassive, as if he was just carrying out another mundane task."Miss Faris," Lillard said in that annoyingly calm voice of his, "I apologize, but I can’t let you hit her.""Can't let me?" I echoed, my voice dripping with incredulity as I shot him a venomous glare. "Who the hell do you think you are?" “Those are Mr. Giodarno's orders. No one touches her except him.” He replied.I scoffed. When did Lucien ever made such rule?Moore stood behind him, her lips curving into that insufferable smirk that made my blood boil. She crossed her arms, watching the scene unfold like she was enjoying a private show., though
