Meg and I have joined Luna Sara at one of the training sessions that she runs for some of the younger girls. It is not as much as fight training as a self-defence course. The group ranges in age eight to twelve.

“So what made you start this group?” I ask her.

“When I first met Graham there wasn’t much of any kind of training done with the girls. Graham never thought that it was right and had tried for years to get his Dad to start training the females the same way the males are but he would never go for it. Graham’s Dad was old-fashioned in his thinking. He didn’t see the point in using his men to train women who didn’t need to fight in the first place. So as soon as Graham took over as Alpha we set up this program. We knew there would be some pushback from some of the older members. You know how some of the older generation is about change.
