At Marie’s Home
.
Just as soon as Delilah rushed to open the door when the doorbell rang, she was feeling satisfied to a different level. That was only because she read Marie’s diary and had a point or two to put her down by confronting her. Even though Marie was supposedly her step-daughter, Delilah never treated her such. She had an internal grudge against her for whatever reason that played in her head.
Her heart was throbbing with excitement. Delilah was a mean lady for wanting to trouble the little girl intentionally. Marie had never interfered in anything that her step-mother did and yet her step-mother had nothing else to do other than not just interfering in Marie’s doings but also spoiling things for her either by talking about her to Mr. Jones behind her back or by being successful in her filthy plans to make Marie look bad in front of everyone.
The minute she opened the door to welcome both
As Marie complained to her father about her step-mother reading her personal diary, she started crying before she completed her sentence. Her hands held Mr. Jones tighter now, which made it seem as if she was broken down and scared to leave him. The father-daughter bond was still very much intact despite Delilah’s constant try to break them apart.Mr. Jones widened his eyes as he heard his daughter tell him that. He did not have any other option because the last thing that a father would like to see is his daughter in such a condition. In fact, not even the last thing because that is something no father will ever want to see his daughter in such a critical condition; emotionally broken down.He immediately looked at Delilah who was still seated on the couch and was making faces at Marie even though she was not looking at her. She was a weird lady who did not have any feelings for her step-daughter, and she was too afraid to say that. A
The next day was Saturday, and Mr. Jones was off from work. Morning rituals were just like any other day that started with the morning coffee and then freshening up, followed by breakfast while the news channel that played each day on television was on. After all, the tasks which happened daily were done, Mr. Jones walked in the corridor that led to his daughters’ room and knocked on the door.It was surprising to him that Marie, who generally woke up after he left home for work, had already taken a bath and was completely ready to begin her day.“Good morning, my girl!” Mr. Jones greeted Marie.“Good morning, dad,” Marie said as she hugged Mr. Jones.“What’s my girl up to?”“Dad, I need your permission.”“Come, sweety. Let us sit together for a little while. How about we go outside to the lawn?” Mr. Jones asked making it seem rhetorical.
As Marie and Mr. Jones were having a friendly talk, Mr. Jones was left confused on what would be the most appropriate way to answer the question that his daughter asked him. Even though Marie was not that grown-up, her father was confiding in her and seeking her support in something not very right that he was doing. Instead of giving a proper explanation to her, he rolled his eyes as he mentioned, “Don’t you know your mother?! Especially the things she says?!”“That I understand, but had you not told them yesterday that you were expecting a guest, it would have been easier for me to take them away by planning to go to watch a movie in the movie theatre with them. And you could have given us some excuse,” Marie replied.“Whoa! My daughter has grown up to be so smart!” Mr. Jones complimented. In the meantime, Marie asked, “Who is this lady, dad?”Wanting to make things clearer
Walking back into the house after having such a friendly conversation with her dad, Marie was on cloud nine knowing that she had grown up and earned her father’s trust. Otherwise, there was no possible reason for him to tell her all the things which he did. Somewhere down in her heart, Marie was inquisitive to actually meet this lady who was her father’s friend because never until now had Mr. Jones been this friendly with any female. She was not even feeling a little like the way that she would feel for her step-mother. Delilah’s vibe made Marie feel insecure, low on self-esteem, somewhat jealous, and every other thing which was not healthy. The relationship with her step-mother was toxic. All this was not because she did not want to see her father happy. It was only because of the nasty things which she would say to her behind Mr. Jones' back.Delilah not only had issues with letting the father-daughter bond grow, but she
Marie and Rebecca along with their mom headed straight to the market. For every little thing, Marie pointed it out as if it was something big enough to deserve attention. She was doing that on purpose in order to make the whole process of shopping slow as a snail. She was also pointing out even the things which did not interest her at all. Before they could reach the main market, but soon after they crossed just a few shops at the beginning, Marie had to rub her eyes in order to believe what she just saw. Jean was wearing a black shirt and blue denim Bermuda shorts and was walking in all her glory with an ice cream cone in her hand and relishing it.They had not exchanged any messages and neither had they spoken to each other on call in a while. So, they were not aware of the other person’s plan of action for the day. In fact, Marie had not even told her about the sleepover planned at Jean’s house which her dad allowed her for, a
As the girl gang started walking after Delilah, Jean got in between Marie and Rebecca. She did that on purpose so that Marie’s sister did not feel left out had Jean been busy walking on the other side and talking only to Marie. After all, it was Rebecca who agreed to Jean joining them in their shopping task. So, Jean was considerate enough to make Rebecca feel a part as much as Marie was. The smile on both the sister’s faces was broad enough to safely assume that they were happy. They entered the main market and Marie spotted the video game gallery.“Rebecca, see there!” She pointed and said, “You will get your video game CD in that shop. Let’s go and ask them.”Delilah was the first to start walking in that direction for obvious reasons. Rebecca got a little excited and overtook Marie and Jean to walk with her mother as she was the one who was going to buy her the game she had been wanting.
Seeing her step-mother hugging a tall, handsome, well-built dude raised Marie’s curiosity to another level. He did not seem very old. Instead, he was just about the right age according to his body, and that piqued her curiosity as to who this man could be. Never had she ever seen him around, but then she remembered that she was not at home most of the time, and she could never really guess what happened behind her back.It was a given that his step-mom would be the happiest not to have Marie around because from her behavior it seemed like that almost every time. But something like what was happening in front of Marie’s eyes was difficult to accept, especially from someone who had always spoken ill about friendships between the opposite gender. Something which Delilah revolted was being followed by her, and hypocrisy was shining bright.Marie stepped out of the eatery without worrying about being called at the counter once her ord
Listening to her step-mother shouting from the other end of the little place to eat, Marie set her act right and straightened her back immediately. The smile on her face dissolved in the worry of having been exposed with Jean in front of Delilah in a not very acceptable position. The closeness of their bodies could ignite fire, and the place that they were living at barely accepted couples of opposite genders, so it was absolutely impossible for anyone to see two girls sharing similar vibes. Both the girls walked back decently to the table on which Rebecca was seated. Delilah also walked to the table. Jean and Marie kept the plastic food tray that they were holding on the table and sat down feeling highly uncomfortable. Without a word, the four of them had their waffles except for Rebecca who kept purposely talking about random things that were indirectly pointing at Marie to make her feel embarrassed.Seeing someone else happy and not disru
The silence after Marie’s question was killing. It took a little while for Jean to come back to the reality from what was going on in her mind. She was thinking about how she would cope with Marie being gone, and how they would keep in touch with each other. Primarily, the thing that was disturbing her was the fact that she would be left without friends again as other batchmates did not fondly accept her different likings. But because Marie had put forward a serious question, Jean answered, “Because you are going away tomorrow.”“I am here with you now,” Marie mentioned and asked, “Why don’t we make full use of that instead of getting upset over something which neither of us can change?!”It was a rhetorical question; Jean understood that, and she responded, “That is logical. I want to have the best memories with you.”“I am not dying; just going away,” Mar
Marie and Jean were lost in each other’s arms, and they had completely disconnected themselves with the world. They were involved only in the feeling that they were getting at the present time. It was a beautiful scenario which was sparkling with the freshness that their smiles were beaming out. If anyone were to see them, they would have agreed that beautiful was just an underrated word for that moment.Just as soon as Mr. Jones reached closer to his daughter, Marie and Jean got done with their hug, and they were letting go of each other. That is when Mr. Jones said, “Marie, won’t you introduce your friend to me?”“Yes, daddy. Jean, meet my father and dad, meet my best friend, Jean.”“Hello, sir!” Jean greeted him, and she initiated a handshake with him as she continued, “It is a pleasure to meet you.”“Likewise,” Mr. Jones responded and was impressed with
Marie woke up the next morning with a weird feeling. She was excited to meet Jean after the holidays in which different feelings were experienced between both of them. A few of the things that they had done were big enough to create a lasting expression for life. They were not the little things but quite a lot according to their age.Besides, they were both unsure of who they actually were. They liked being together but also to the level that they didn't need anyone else, and not just figuratively but also literally. Being with the boys stopped appealing to them even though their friends and other people their age were crazy about talking to the opposite gender and being friends with them.Marie was in the best school, and her parents pulling her out of it was not easy for either party. But because of the doubts that appeared in their minds about her liking some other girl, forced them to take such a step. The society wasn't really accepting
Listening to her dad, Marie felt a heavy lump in her throat. Unable to decide if she should be happy about finally getting to stay at home with her dad and the family after such a long time, or whether she should be sad about having to call off her friendship with Jean. Because the two things which Marie wanted for the rest of her life were not possible to happen at once. It was either this or that. For a young girl like her, it was a tough choice to make. She had always wanted to stay at home with her family just like the rest of her friends and everybody whom she had known. Youngsters her age stayed in the family and kept very happy about the little things which they got to do at home. During the time when they discussed such things, Marie dreamt if it was ever going to be possible for her to feel just the same and not be separated from her family members after a couple of days or weeks. But the depressing part about it was that even thoug
A couple of strokes that Jean was giving Marie on her lower back were making both of them wet. But because they did not know much about what had to be done, they were not doing anything more except Jean feeling Marie and Marie letting her touch the way Jean wanted. Marie had her eyes closed to feel the flow of Jean’s touch which was not very hard and yet not very gentle; just the appropriate amount of pressure Jean was applying to impart similar feelings that she was experiencing. In a little while, Jean brought her hands to Marie’s mid back and just as when she was moving her thumbs in a circular manner a little towards her spine, the rest of her palms stretched out on Marie’s back. Jean’s finger tips were touching Marie at a sensitive spot which was the part exactly under her small boobs. Marie was aware of that because of the way it was making her feel, but she still ignored it and did not say a word to Jean.On th
Tears rolled down from Marie’s eyes as soon as Mr. Jones placed his palm on her cheek, giving her a comforting touch. By this time, he had already made up his mind for what had to be done next to avoid Marie doing anything that would cause her trouble in the country that they lived in. But he didn’t deem it appropriate to mention it at the present moment.“Prepare for your sleepover,” Mr. Jones directed Marie only to bring a smile on her face, and a subtle smile showed up on her face. She walked to her room to pack all her necessary stuff. Perhaps it was important for Marie to take some time off from the environment at home, which gave time to her dad to plan everything out and maybe even execute the way out of the mess that was in line to happen. Hence, he lived up to his promise.“What sleepover?” Delilah asked as she took a step forward towards him.“Marie is going for a sleepover,” h
Mr. Jones was completely shocked and could not believe what he heard Delilah say out loud. He never thought of assuming that his very own daughter, Marie, would be in to people of the same gender to which she also belonged. He did not want to trust his wife and wanted to ask Marie, but at least for a second he failed to think of anything but his daughter not being accepted in the society that they lived in.Once he calmed himself down to give an appropriate reaction to that, he turned back to his daughter and asked, “What is mom saying?”“I don’t know what mom is saying. Jean is my friend and not only that, she is my best friend forever,” Marie responded and while she did, she also held Jean’s hand in both her hands and brought it up to her chest to show that she was serious about the thing she just mentioned and was not going to let go of their friendship whatever may have come.More than anything,
It took Delilah less than a minute to be shattered completely and to get a feeling to be on the other side. She certainly had her own reasons to have been involved with the handsome hunk from the neighborhood, but that was only because Mr. Jones was always at work. Delilah’s age was such that her hormones had been bursting to flow out, but Mr. Jones never really cared.Maybe that was because he never really loved her and married her for mutual understanding. Seeing that reason failing in front of his eyes, possibly he could never give her the attention she wanted. Mr. Jones must have had a grudge against Delilah for the separation she caused between him and his daughter because no father will want to stay away from his own daughter whom he brought into this world.Had Rebecca also been sent to the hostel, it would have been a separate thing? But she was unlucky to get admission to the school in which Marie was studying. Delilah had ope
