10_DENYING HER BABY DADDY

DENYING HER BABY DADDY

Estaban sighed, looking at his little brother.

“Before we think of anything, I just want you to be mentally prepared. Sii forte. You know how it is back there, this is a whole different and new stage and trust me when I saw it won't be easy.”

Santos nodded.

“Mother needs to find out first and you have a perfect opportunity to tell her the truth when she arrives next week.” Estaban added.

Santos suddenly got up. “What? Mother is coming here? Why!?”

“You refused to go back to Greece, Santos. She's worried.” Estaban replied.

“More like she wants to control my life.” Santos scoffed. “I can't believe she is coming here.”

“Focus, Santos. Essere un uomo. When did you find out about the this?” He pointed at the envelope.

“Three days ago.”

“Did you talk about it?”

“No, she doesn't know I already found out.” Santos replied and Estaban waited with a frown. “I found the envelope, hoping to return it but I decided to open it last night.”

“How did you get the envelope?”

“I…I…she dropped it.” Santos shrugged.

“She came to you again after two months?”

“No, I..I..went to to look for her.” Santos looked away from his brother.

“So, let me get this straight.” Estaban walked around a bit. “So you met Kimberlee, a waitress and as usual, slept with her. Then for some reason, went back to find her when you've clearly never ever slept with any woman twice, you have a rule about that. By chance, you personally found out she was pregnant, she didn't tell you herself or try to rip you off. You immediately accepted it is your child and didn't even try to find out if the child is really yours”

“What is your point, Estaban?”

“Santos, there is a reason why she didn't care to tell you.” Estaban answered.

“Which is?” Santos waited.

“She doesn't want you.”

Santos walked to the french windows.

“And deep down, you know it.” Estaban continued. " But that's good for you because you have options. You can either act like you never found out and go back to Greece or you have to marry her and you don't have to worry about her being a gold digger because she obviously isn't.”

" How do you expect me to live with myself after knowing about the pregnancy and abandoning her?” Santos said. He can never do that.

" You can ask her for an abortion.” Estaban added.

" I do not have the right to ask her to do that. I will never allow her do that.” Santos sternly replied.

Estaban walked to his brother and threw his arm around his shoulder. " It is confirmed then.” He said with a smile. “You want the child."

Santos paused. “W..what?" He moved away. "No.”

" Fortunately, you do and I'm happy. Although, I don't know if you want the child because it's yours or because Kimberlee is carrying it.” Estaban teased him.

“You need to stop it. I know it's my baby so I feel the need to protect it, and have it." Santos sighed.

“What are you thinking?"

“Mother. Kimberly. Our child.”

“I can't believe my baby brother is going to be a father. Playboy turned papa.” Estaban laughed but Santos didn't find it funny. “What? Cheer up. Your only problem now is mother.”

“No, it's not mother.” They walked back to the table. “Kim, it's Kimberlee.”

“You mentioned she is stubborn?”

“Very. Like you said, she doesn't even want me.” Santos picked the empty bottle.

“No more alcohol. You need to stay sober. Since it's just a waitress and not blonde, I'm pretty sure it will be easier to handle her with no scandal. So, what are you gonna do?” Estaban asked.

“You know exactly what I'm gonna do. There's no other option. The only problem is convincing Kim.”

Kimberlee looked from Zita to Pamela.

“Well, say something.” She desperately said.

“What you're saying is, mister Santos is your baby daddy?” Zita happily sat beside her on the couch in the living room.

It was very hard to open up to her friends but she knew she had to tell them eventually.

She misplaced the test results a week ago and couldn't find it still.

“You are pregnant?” Pamela was still in shock.

“Yes and yes.” She sighed. “I'm keeping it.” She added.

“Of course.” They both nodded.

“I can't believe I'm gonna be an aunt.” Pamela finally smiled.

“You're already an auntie, Pam.” Zita chuckled and turned to Kim. “Why are you so quiet? Why aren't you happy?”

“I have mixed feelings. I'm not happy, neither am I sad but I definitely don't like the fact that Santos is the father.” Kim answered.

“Why?” Pamela frowned.

“He is a playboy. He is wealthy and a complete flirt. I don't think I want the father of my child to have any of those tags.” She continued. “Well, it doesn't matter anyways. He is never going to find out because I don't plan on telling him so he doesn't really have to be worried about being a father which he obviously isn't interested in.”

Zita and Pamela looked at each other.

“He deserves to know, Kim. Not only because it will be unfair to him but because he is the father and should take responsibility.” Pamela said to her.

“I don't need him.”

“How do you want to handle all these at once?” Zita asked. “Santos is capable..”

“That's my final decision.” Kimberlee got up. “And that's on period. Do not tell me how to live my life.”

The doorbell rang.

Kim went to get it but it was a letter.

“I just got my first investor.” Kimberlee excited jumped back to her friends.

Zita and Pamela screeched in joy.

“This is big news!” Pamela grinned. “I am so happy for you!” They both hugged her.

“They scheduled a meeting for tomorrow morning. Oh my God!" Kim jump again. “I can't wait to meet them. I have a very good feeling about this and I think this is going to be a very big investor. What should I wear? I need to make a perfect impression.”

" We got you.” Zita said as they matched to their room.

" You should wear something cooperate. Very serious but elegant. A suit!” Pamela suggested.

“No, she should wear a dress. She needs to look sexy.." Zita chirped in.

“You know the foundation is for orphans, right? She's not starting a strip club." Pamela cut her short.

“There's nothing wrong with looking sexy. It's my fault y’all think looking naked has to do with clubs." Zita replied.

" Okay Zee!” The other two chorused with the roll of their eyes.

" Y’all saying my name like I'm your grandaunt!”
