Chapter 314: Life is Weird

My feet dangle over the side of the tall bed in the guest room Dominick showed me to after he dropped me off at his home and told me to stay away from the compound. I hadn't taken the time to grab my shoes at Elliot's home, and I wasn't in the habit of keeping a pair at my brother's considering it's my first time at his house.

Which is also weird.

Life in general has gotten weird.

A party rages below in the compound past the safety of my brother's private space. Where the wind whipped at Elliot's windows earlier in the night, it's dead now. My brother lives farther away from the water. The calm in the air allows the voices to seep up through the window as a bonfire rages on in the far corner of the compound.
