What would people in town consider the second-best place? There aren't many options. "The bakery?"Graham's steps falter, but just for a second as if he's an engine that missed a click. My nose crinkles at the odor floating up from the room vents and floor. It's a cross between a cigarette and a dead skunk, as if somebody found a piece of roadkill, rolled it up and decide to smoke it.
