Chapter 12 Taming the Cat

When Anthony saw

the blood flowing down from Danielle's arms, he was shock. He calmed himself and

the expression on his face changed.

“ Why are you so stupid? Come here! Let me see your arms.”

Danielle looked at her wounded arm but she didn't move

either.

Rushing towards her, Anthony's facial expression softened.

“ Bring me the first aid kit. Hurry!” Anthony glanced

at his bodyguards

as he sat down next to

Danielle.

When they heard the command from their boss, the two bodyguards

went to get the first aid kit and gave it to their boss.

Anthony took out a cotton ball and poured a small

amount of alcohol in it. He gently rubbed it on the wounded arm of Danielle.

Danielle ached when she felt the cotton ball gently being

rubbed on her wound. Then, Anthony applied an ointment to heal her wound before

wrapping her wound with bandage.

“ Can you please be careful next time?”

Anthony said full of concern on his voice but Danielle

was not focus on what he just said. But she gave him a nod as an answer.

Slowly, Anthony helped her stand up. He took out his wallet

and gave her a large amount of money.

“ Take this. I'm 

sure you can buy enough medicine from that.”

Is he insulting me? That's it! I'm through with this. Danielle

said to herself. Her face turned purple and her eyes were blazing with fire of anger.

She excused herself and went to her desk. She started typing

on her computer and printed the letter she had composed. Her anger didn't subside.

She was determined to resign from her work.

In a short moment, she went back to the CEO’s office carrying

a new files. She slid her resignation letter in it so that Anthony would not notice

it.

Anthony felt sorry for what just had happened. His face

was sad and full of concern towards her. He glanced at her wounded arms a lot of

times.

“ You can have under time today if you're feeling not well.

I won't deduct your salary.”

Anthony wanted to repent and correct his mistake. But It

was already too late. Danielle was already determined and she smirked when Anthony

didn't realized that he has already signed her resignation letter.

Whose the idiot now?! Danielle said in her mind as she

looked at the papers that Anthony had just signed.

Before their working hours were ending, Danielle packed

up all her belongings and put it all in a large box.

“ Danielle, why are you packing up your things?” Hannah

looked at her with curiosity.

“ I'm leaving the company. Sir Anthony had already signed

my resignation letter. “

“What!!!!” Hannah was shocked.

“ So, I guess this is it for me. I’m going to miss you.”

Danielle hugged her friend tightly.

“ Oh, Danielle! I'm going to miss you too.” Hannah embraced

her back.

“ Can you do me a favor?” Danielle looked at her.

Hannah nodded as a response because she was already crying.

” Can you bring with you my things outside? I need to settle

something with the our boss before leaving. “

Danielle held Hannah's hand firmly. Hannah was upset and

all she responded was a nod from her.

Then, Danielle left her friend and went to the CEO’s

office.

“ Sir, can I come 

in? Its me, Danielle Artates. “

Anthony was packing up his things when he heard a knock

on the door and Danielle's voice.

“ Come in!” He stopped what he was doing and he felt something

bad was about to happen.

Danielle opened the door and went in. She was carrying

her resignation letter with her and in her bag was the money that Anthony gave

a while ago. She looked serious but her eyes were blazing with fire.

“ What do you want, Miss Artates?” Anthony sat down on

his chair and gave a warning sign to his bodyguards.

His bodyguards alerted themselves when they saw Anthony's

signature look when he is in trouble.

Danielle went closer to Anthony's table and slammed

her resignation letter on the table. “ Here's my

resignation letter, Sir!”

“ So, you're finally giving up your work?”

Anthony smirked. But he wasn't aware of Danielle's next

move.

Seeing his arrogant face, Danielle got even madder She

took out the money on her bag and throw it on Anthony's face. “ Here's your money!

You jerk!”

The money scattered everywhere in his office but it was

an insult to Anthony's ego. This was the first time that someone dared to humiliate

him inside his own office.

Danielle felt great after what she did but there's more

to come.

Due to his pride, Anthony rushed to catch up with her.

He grabbed her hand forcefully and turned her to face him. When their eyes met,

Anthony could see clearly the anger on her eyes. His other hand was on around her

waist. They were so close to each other.

“ Let go of me! You, bastard!”

Danielle struggled from his grip. She punched his broad

chest but she also felt some electricity flowing on her body as they touched.

Slowly, Anthony was tempted to  kiss her thin pink lips. He savoured the sweetness

of her kiss.

Surprised by his sudden action, Danielle was dumbfounded.

This is her first kiss. Her face turned red as she started blushing. Her anger subsided

because of their kiss. The bodyguards looked away but they were smiling at their

backs.

Since it's her first

time, Danielle followed how Anthony savoured her lips. They started kissing passionately.

Danielle pushed Anthony away to gasped some air. Anthony was not contented but seeing

her breathing heavily and gasping for air, he felt satisfied and smiled. He wanted

more. After their lips separated, Anthony traced her lips gently with his finger.

“ From now on, your mine.” He said in a ragged voice.

Shaking her head in disbelief, Danielle pushed him hard.

Anthony got out of balance and fell down on the floor in a sitting position. Danielle

took her chance and ran away from the office. She didn't bother looking back. She

wanted to escape as fast as she could.

When she was outside 

the building, Hannah was waiting for her.

“ Let's go!”

Danielle opened the car door on the other side of the driver's

seat.

Though Hannah was curious why Danielle was running, she

just followed her and opened the car door on the driver's seat. She drove her car

and sent Danielle to her boarding house.

When they arrived at the boarding house, Danielle took

out her things from the car.

“ Thanks, Hannah!”

“ You're welcome. Please keep in touch with me.”

“ Sure!”

Then they hugged each other before Hannah went back inside

her car and left.

Meanwhile, Danielle walked towards her boarding house and

went inside. She felt good even if she was wounded. When she got inside their room,

she started packing up her other belongings. She planned to stay on her grandmother's

house for the funeral.

She changed her clothes and laid down on her bed before

taking dinner.

“ What happened to your arm?” Stella noticed the bandage

on Danielle's arm.

“ Oh! Just an accident. I'm fine. So, don't worry. I really

mean it, Stella.”

“ She always says she's okay but we know her. She's not

doing okay.” Ivy whispered to Annalise's ears.

“ By the way...Starting tomorrow, I'll be staying at my

grandmother's place.”

Danielle spoke while resting her body.

“ That reminds me...Your grandmother’s funeral will be

tomorrow. We'll come with you.” Annalise remembered.

“ Okay.” Danielle agreed.

After resting for a few minutes, Danielle ate dinner and

pondered for a while.

The kiss that Anthony and her had shared kept on rolling

on her mind. The night made her restless because of the memories of their shared

kiss.

Early morning, everyone was ready to go on the funeral.  But they never expected that Anthony would also

appear on the event.

Why is he here? How did know that we are here? Danielle

can't believe her eyes. She doesn't want to disrespect her grandmother's funeral.

Therefore she behaved civilized towards Anthony.

“ Condolence, Miss Artates. “ Anthony faced her with

sympathy.

“ Thank you, Sir!” Danielle glared but she still had a

hand shake with him.

After the burial, Danielle was left alone in the cemetery.

But not far away from her, Anthony was standing and looking after her. Danielle

felt that someone was with her in the cemetery. She can feel it and she can smell

a familiar scent.

Of course, she was referring to Anthony's scent. A mixed

of mint and meadow grass scent.

“ Go away, Mister Gregor! I don't want to be rude to you.

I'm not in the mood to speak to anyone. “ Danielle's voice was full of sorrow.

Instead of following her request, Anthony went closer to

her and gave her a warm embrace. “ I know how you feel. But please let me stay by

your side.”

Anthony felt sad to see her mourning and he doesn't want

to argue with her either.

Danielle didn't object when she was held by him in his

arms. She felt weak and doesn't want to argue with him too. She let herself immersed

in his warm embrace. They stayed that way for a long time before they left the cemetery

together.

The burial ended and Danielle started making herself drunk

in a bar. She wasn't aware that Anthony kept on following her every move. He thinks

he’s now responsible in taking care of her. But how can she tame a wild cat.

She can be sometimes be meek. But now, he knew that she

can also become wild like a cat.
