Herry felt a bit overwhelmed by all the compliments. Inside the haunted house, he hadn't spoken much and had been tightly holding Emily's hand.

Whenever a "ghost" appeared, Emily would shield him from view; when there were puzzles to solve, she would venture ahead on her own to figure them out before guiding him forward.
