Davis's POV

The minute I got home, I didn't even bother to park the car properly, I rushed in only to be greeted by Helen. I froze.

Not because I was stinky, covered in blood, and looking all messy, but because I had come without her mother. It was late at night already, and I wondered why she wasn't sleeping already.
