POV: AARON

I hadn’t realized my human form was just as fast as my Lupine on—perhaps it was due to my training in both. It took some time before we finally reached the city.

Yulli gestured for me to move ahead while she tried to catch her breath.

As I entered the hospital, I let out a deep growl, drawing the attention of the doctor, who appeared with a furrowed brow. His gaze flickered between the small, unconscious she-wolf in my arms and the blood dripping onto the floor.

“What happened?” He rushed toward us. “Bring a stretcher here, now!”

I carefully placed her on the stretcher brought by the nurses, brushing her dark hair away from her face. Even unconscious, Callie’s expression was twisted in pain.

“I unleashed too much power… I don’t know exactly what happened.” I sighed, defeated. “She’s&h

Every touch felt like a searing blade, my fingers nearly brushing against my own organs.“I will hunt them down—one by one—until the last drop of blood is spilled. That blind she-wolf… I’ll turn her into a puppet of agony, rip her pup from her womb, and make her feel the weight of her own misery. That arrogant Alpha… I’ll destroy him, devour his flesh while his soul crumbles into dust. I will descend into the depths of darkness to bring hell upon those who dared to challenge me.”“Oh? And how exactly do you plan on doing that… when you’re already dead?”A female voice echoed through the trees, her laughter ringing like a twisted, haunting melody as he

POV: AARONI woke up with dilated, fierce eyes, scanning the white room. I yanked out the IV with a sharp pull, feeling an acute discomfort in my arm. The nurse burst through the door, her eyes widening in horror when she saw me, rushing into the room.“King Lycan, please, you need to rest! You're still very injured,” she said, alarmed, as she prepared to treat the puncture site. When she realized it had already healed, her face twisted in confusion and shock.“Where is Callie?” I growled threateningly, my imposing figure casting a shadow over the small, trembling nurse.“She… she's in surgery,” the woman stammered nervously.“What happened? Why does she need surgery?” I narrowed my eyes, emanating a powerful aura of pressure.“Alpha, please control your power! We don’t want it spreading through the hospita

POV: CALLIEI woke up in my darkness, my body aching even more than before. The sterile hospital smell of alcohol and medicine churned my stomach as my head throbbed. What had happened? My mind was flooded with memories. I had been with the Alpha in my dreams—that fear, all that blood, my wolf—but I couldn’t find her anywhere. The pain dragged me back to consciousness, and the deep ache in my abdomen signaled that we were losing my baby.“Rigan!” I screamed, placing my hand on my belly, unable to lift my body properly.A hand gripped my shoulders, keeping me in place. I inhaled in its direction, recognizing the unmistakable woody scent that now filled the room even more, his presence expanding protectively.“Don’t move; you just had surgery, little wolf,” Aaron whispered, adjusting me in place. “You scared me… Not many wolves can do

The Lycan seemed irritated by my comment; his scent shifted, becoming more tense. “Alpha, are you alright?”“Yes!” he answered promptly. When the loud sound of my baby’s heartbeat filled the room through the ultrasound, it was a deeply emotional and unique experience. The rhythm was fast and steady, like the galloping of a horse—constant and strong. I could almost see tiny feet running joyfully through an open field. At least, that was what I wished to see when my little king Rigan was born!I sensed the subtle changes in the Alpha’s scent. There was a clear internal conflict, but something else… Was he moved? My wolf let out a faint growl in my mind, as if that moment had stirred something within her. The Lycan’s wolf responded i

POV: AARON“Yulli told me what happened. I agree with her and the Lycan King—your wolf needs time to recover. You’ve both been through a lot, and with Nocturnus’ mark, the process of her finding you again has become even more difficult,” Ryan said, pausing as if in deep thought. “Although…”“What are you thinking, doctor?” Yulli interrupted, curious.“In ancient texts, I read about cases where a wolf’s inner beast was lost or had trouble communicating. The passage mentioned that a mate’s connection could help with that,” Ryan noted.“And how does that work?” I arched an eyebrow, sniffing in his direction, when I sensed his nervous scent spreading through the room. “Doctor?”“Normally, mates stay naked, in direct skin-to-skin contact, so the wolf can feel the warmth of their partne

Now it’s your turn.”“I'm afraid of being hurt more than I already have been. And I don’t mean physically—those scars heal…” I murmured, running my hand over my belly, unsettled by the fact that Rigan wasn’t kicking or moving. “He’s so quiet.”“He’s a smart pup. He knows you need rest.” Yulli tapped the tip of my nose before sinking into the side of the bed, placing her hands over mine, warming them with her magic. “Just in case.”“Thank you.” I gave her a small

POV: AARONUpon being discharged, I carried her home despite her protests. Yulli found the scene amusing and stayed behind at the hospital to assist Dr. Ryan with the healing process. She cast a containment spell, uncertain if it would work, but we had to try to prevent anyone else from getting hurt.“Are we in your room?” Callie asked in surprise, sniffing around. “Why am I in your quarters?”“You need to be taken care of, and according to medical recommendations, we have to sleep together. It’s easier to do that here,” I purred softly. “Don’t worry, little one, it's just care and rest.”“Why are you doing this?” she asked, furrowing her brow. Even with the bandage over her beautiful green eyes, I could sense her suspicion.“I'm a stubborn wolf; I already told you,” I replied with amusement, walking with her in my arms before gently setting her down o

I told you, it's better if we don’t get involved.” I kept my voice firm, despite the pulse of desire deep within me. Being this close to him was dangerous, and I knew it. “We can't…”I repeated in a whisper as his lips brushed against mine, barely touching. I closed my eyes at the intoxicating sensation, hearing my wolf purr in response.“Your wolf…” He smiled against my lips. “Come on, let me help you out of the bath. The water is getting cold.”I pulled away slightly, trying to understand how the water was cooling when my body felt so warm. I bit my lip, conf

It felt like a thousand blades were stabbing into my back and ribs. But I knew—I had to survive.I started running, darting beneath Hunter’s legs as he roared in fury, reaching out to grab me. I chased after the torn ribbon as if my life depended on it—because it did.Hunter was relentless, bloodthirsty, whistling coldly as he pursued me.“I’m going to catch you, prey!” he laughed through his fangs.I leaped, grasping the broken ribbon and merging it with the other just as Hunter seized my leg, trying to drag me back. The memories fused together, freezing the world around me. Can you see?”There was surprise in his tone.I looked again at the wounded she-wolf on the ground, feeling the ferocity of my beast stir at the sight of her—injured, cowering, trembling, and threatened.Hunter grabbed my hair roughly, yanking me toward him with a sharp breath.“How are you doing this?” he snarled through his fangs.“Don’t touch me!” I growled, my claws extending as I slashed at him the moment he let go. POV: AARON“No bond?” I clenched my hands nervously. Would that mean no Alpha in my dreams?“I'm afraid we don't have time for training and tests. It's only a matter of time before Nocturnus enters the city,” Lyra said.“But the wolves stopped, afraid to follow us here.” I commented, still in shock.“Even werewolves fear ghosts, especially powerful ones,” Yulli laughed, amused. “But that doesn’t apply to creatures controlled by Nocturnus.”“I…” I bit my lip, nervous. “I don’t want to lose my wolf. She’s part of who I am.”I didn’t want to admit out loud that I wasn’t just afraid of losing my wolf—I also feared never having him in my dreams again. Who the hell are you calling a rat?” Jaxon lunged toward him but stopped when Keenan lifted his head, meeting his gaze with icy indifference.“Forget it. If this is what the council wants and the Supreme Alpha’s decision, then take my place, and I’ll take yours.”“You will not!” The Supreme Beta’s threatening roar startled everyone—except me. Watching this power struggle was a pleasure; it allowed me to gauge the strength of my warriors within the pack.“If you can’t even handle simple management tasks and the protection of the Lycan King, what makes you think you’re capable of leading a central city?”

POV: AARONAfter the full moon, the city finally settled. The wolf howls faded, and the stillness of the night took over. Callie fell asleep in my arms, her body completely relaxing. Carefully, I carried her inside, laying her gently on the bed. I sank down beside her, running my fingers tenderly through her hair. I was exhausted, but a crooked smile formed on my lips as I looked at her. Furthermore, I truly wanted to care for and protect this wolf and her child.“Ours…” I corrected myself automatically, furrowing my brow at my own reaction. The word echoed in my mind.I stretched out my hand, hesitating for a moment before placing it on her belly. Leaning in, I tried to listen for the tiny, strong heartbeat inside her. A sudden kick met my touch, and I couldn’t help but smile—a genuine, admiring smile.“You’re already strong, little one. Are you trying to protect your mo

Out of curiosity, I reached out to feel its shape, yawning despite my efforts to resist exhaustion, afraid that the dark god would be waiting for me there.“You know you'll have to sleep at some point,” the Alpha murmured, his voice slightly drowsy. “You don’t have to worry. I’ll be there with you.”“Even so, I’m not ready to face him,” I admitted, tracing my fingers idly across his bare chest, the tips tingling against his warm, smooth skin.“You don’t have to face him, little wolf. Leave the battles to me,” Aaron pressed a lingering kiss to the top of my head.“You’re exhausted too. And I don’t want to depend on anyone when it comes to battle…” I sighed, sitting up in bed. “I need to get stronger for Rigan.”

POV: AARONI asked the cook to make a homemade pizza. Honestly, it had been a while since I had eaten something like that too. It seemed like a great excuse and opportunity for a moment with Callie. I pulled her into my arms, wrinkling my nose at the TV screen, where the movie title stood out: “A Love Beyond Life.”I had never watched romantic movies, not even when past girlfriends asked me to go to the movies. Furthermore, I always preferred horror films… Maybe because I was used to a harsh life filled with battles.“You seem hesitant.” Callie whispered, settling her back against my chest, giving me a tempting view of her bare body. I bit my lips and pulled the sheet over her, knowing that otherwise I wouldn't be able to focus on any movie.“If you want, I can get dressed,” she offered.“And miss the chance to admire you from time to time? POV: CALLIEI felt strange, a latent voracity burning inside my chest. I entered the bathroom, panting, letting out occasional growls, and smirked, feeling oddly pleased.“Wolf, you’re back?” I murmured to my inner beast, who grunted in response. “Did you really have to return like this? We’re trying to avoid the Alpha, not become his.”My wolf protested in my mind, her presence laced with lust, restless within my chest. I felt a significant improvement below my belly, as if she were working to protect our pup with her healing power. The sensation stirred the baby awake, making him kick excitedly, as if he recognized my beast’s return.“Thank you for coming back.” I placed my hand over my chest, clenching it into a fist. “I was afraid without you… Nocturnus reached us in a dream. I fear sleeping.”In my mind, my wolf appr
