Nathan's POV:
As we emerged from the woods, the warm sunlight cast a golden glow on our faces. I turned to my brothers, my dark, brooding emerald eyes blazing with intensity. "We have made a very big mistake just now," I said, my voice low and urgent. "In fact, today has been filled with lots of mistakes and bad decisions."
Kyle's burning sapphire eyes narrowed, his chiseled features set in a skeptical expression. "What would you have us do? Kill our new teacher and a classmate, on our very first day at school?" he asked, his voice tinged with sarcasm.
I turned to face Eden, who was walking ahead of us, his piercing blue, crystal eyes fixed on the path ahead. "We shouldn't have been in school in the first place," I said, my voice firm. "And yes, that was the right thing to do." I glared at Eden, who stopped walking and turned to face me.
His eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, we just stared at each other. Then, he continued walking, his long strides eating up the distance.
"You know I am right, Eden," I called out after him. "You should have sided with me on this." I turned to Kyle, who was watching me with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
"The fewer people that know our real identity, the longer we can stay here," I explained, my voice low and urgent. "I'm tired of running, I'm tired of being chased about by those two lunatics, Drakco and Grecko. And if people start talking, and news about three pretty vampire brothers being in New Beacon Hill Town spreads, it won't take long before that news travels to Drakco and Grecko, and they will definitely figure out that it's the three of us, and then come after us."
Eden stopped walking and turned to face me, his eyes locked onto mine. "The girl doesn't know what we are," he said, his voice calm and measured.
: "I'm telling you, she was spying on us. Why will she be spying on us if she doesn't know what we are?" I said, my dark, brooding eyes blazing with intensity. My jaw was clenched, and my lips were pressed together in a thin line.Kyle's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Maybe she saw me entering into the woods and decided to follow," he said, his chiseled features set in a calm expression. "I heard that human teenagers can be so curious."
I scowled, my face twisted in frustration. "I really don't care about her reason for spying on us," I said, my voice low and menacing. "The fact is that she did spy on us, and she must have heard enough to figure out what we are. I hear that these human teenagers are really smart."
Eden's piercing, blue eyes locked onto mine, his expression calm and measured. "Come on, there's no way she could have heard anything we discussed from the distance she was," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "She was very far from us to hear a single thing we talked about."
I raised an eyebrow, my eyes narrowing in skepticism. "And how can you be so sure about that?" I asked, my voice tinged with annoyance.
Eden shook his head, looking frustrated, his eyes flashing with exasperation. Kyle stepped in, his expression calm and soothing. "Why are you so eager to kill, huh?" he asked, his voice gentle but firm.
My face twisted in outrage, my eyes blazing with fury. "Eager to kill? You think I am eager to kill?" I exclaimed, my voice rising in indignation. "You really think I just want to kill because of killing sake?! And I thought you were my brother, you two know why I'm saying this, don't you? How dare you try to make me the villain here? In case you have forgotten, I am not the reason why we are on the run," I said, my voice trembling with rage, my face pale with anger.:
Kyle's eyes were filled with regret as he tried to calm me down. "I am sorry... I shouldn't have said that," he said, his chiseled features softening into a gentle expression.
I shook my head, my dark, brooding eyes blazing with frustration. "No! No! No!! Let me speak, because I'm tired," I exclaimed, my voice rising in exasperation. "I'm really tired, I am doing my best to keep us safe. I am doing what I am doing for the three of us. I am trying my best to make sure we keep our heads, but it's like none of you are listening to anything I am saying."
Eden's expression was that of concern as he stepped forward, his long strides eating up the distance between us. "Come on! You know that's not true, no one is taking sides, we all are trying to survive," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "We just don't want to make mistakes."
I rolled my eyes, feeling a wave of frustration wash over me. The sunlight filtering through the trees above us cast dappled shadows on the ground, but I hardly noticed. I was too caught up in my own emotions.
Eden's face was set in a determined expression, his jaw clenched in conviction. "What do you think will happen if news of two dead people fills the morning newspaper and internet tomorrow?" he asked, his eyes locked onto mine. "It would draw attention to this small town, and that's not good for us either."
I stared at him for a while, my mind racing with the implications of his words. The trees surrounding us seemed to loom over us, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground.
"People die every day, Eden," I said finally, my voice low and measured. "We have made a very big mistake today. I just pray we don't regret the decisions we have taken today."
I turned and walked away, leaving my brothers standing behind me. The rustling leaves and snapping twigs beneath my feet echoed through the woods, the only sound breaking the silence.
Eden's POV
I watched as Nathan walked away, his broad shoulders slumped in defeat, his dark, brooding emerald eyes cast down at the ground. His face was twisted in a scowl, his jaw clenched in frustration. He seemed really angry and disappointed at me and Kyle, and that kinda made me feel bad.
Kyle, noticing my concern, patted me on the shoulder, his piercing emerald eyes sparkling with reassurance. "Brighten up, he will come around," he said, his chiseled features set in a calm expression.
I sighed, feeling a pang of uncertainty. "What if he is right?" I asked, my deep, soulful brown eyes locked onto Kyle's.
Kyle glanced at me, his eyes searching mine, but there were no words on his lips, and I didn't ask any further questions.
We walked back to school, just me and Kyle, the warm sunlight casting a golden glow on our faces. I didn't know where Nathan had wandered to, but I was sure he would turn up eventually.
As we walked into the school building, the sounds of laughter and chatter filled the air, the hallways clustered with human teenagers. Most of their eyes were on us, their faces filled with curiosity and admiration. I'm getting used to their stares, but it still felt strange, like we were some kind of celebrities.
As we walked through the hallways, I sighted the girl Pearl checking something in her locker, a girl standing beside her, chatting away. Pearl hadn't seen me yet, and I don't think Kyle had seen her also. I needed to speak to her, to make sure she hadn't heard anything she wasn't supposed to hear.
"You know what? You can go without me, I'll be with you shortly," I said to Kyle, my eyes locked onto Pearl's.
Kyle stared at me briefly, his eyes narrowing slightly in curiosity. "Alright, hope you know the class we're having after the noon break?" he asked, his voice tinged with amusement.
"Yeah, History, right?" I replied, my face set in a calm expression.
"Yes, History," Kyle said, a small smile playing on his lips. I really didn't know why he smiled, but I smiled back at him, and he turned around, continuing walking.
I walked towards Pearl, my long strides eating up the distance between us....
Pearl's POV
Nelly's bright, brown eyes sparkled with excitement as she tried to show me her phone, her long, curly brown hair bouncing with each enthusiastic nod. Her full lips were curved into a wide, cheerful smile, and her smooth, caramel-colored skin glowed with a warm, radiant light.
"...you need to check out this new phone that just came out, it's really mad! Like it has crazy mad features..." Nelly's voice was filled with infectious enthusiasm, but I knew her all too well. She had a tendency to overexaggerate things more than they really were.
I smiled politely, my bright blue eyes glancing briefly at Nelly's phone before returning to my locker. I was busy arranging my books in neat, orderly rows, my long, straight blonde hair falling around my face like a golden curtain.
"Yes sure, it's crazy mad like you said," I replied, my voice distracted but friendly.
Nelly's face fell, her smile faltering for a moment. "But...but you're not even looking at the pictures I'm showing you," she said, her voice tinged with disappointment.
I glanced up at her, my eyes crinkling at the corners as I smiled. "That's because I know it's really great as far as you said it is," I lied, trying to placate her.
Nelly kept quiet for a while, her eyes fixed on me with a knowing glint. I smiled to myself, searching for the book I needed to take out. The locker room was quiet, the only sound the soft rustling of papers and the occasional clang of a locker door.
"My God! Pearl, Pearl, Pearl..." Nelly suddenly exclaimed, her voice rising in excitement as she tapped my shoulder to get my attention. Her eyes were wide with surprise, and her face was alight with a mischievous grin.:
"I already said the phone is cool, Nelly," I said, my bright blue eyes fixed on the books in my locker. "What else do you want me to say? I don't have money to get a new phone, okay? I just bought this one I've been using recently, so I can't change my phone if that's what you want me to do." I spoke without turning to face her, my voice firm but slightly irritated.
But Nelly still kept tapping my shoulder and calling my name, her bright, brown eyes sparkling with excitement. "Pearl, Pearl, Pearl..." she chimed, her full lips curved into a wide, cheerful smile.
I turned, my face set in a patient expression, but my eyes flashing with a hint of annoyance. "What is it__" I started to say, my voice rising in exasperation, but I had to bite my tongue as I saw Eden standing right in front of me.
Eden's deep, soulful blue eyes like the sky locked onto mine, his chiseled features set in a charming, disarming smile. His dark hair was perfectly messy, and his broad shoulders seemed to fill the entire space in front of me. I felt a flutter in my chest as our eyes met, and I had to look away, my face growing hot with embarrassment.
Mr. Daniel, their English teacher, appeared out of nowhere, his eyes blazing with a fierce, otherworldly energy. He raised his hand, and a blast of magical energy shot forth, striking Gracko with incredible force and sending him tumbling through the air.Pearl's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Mr. Daniel. She had no idea he was a witch, let alone a powerful one.Mr. Daniel's gaze flicked to the brothers, and for a moment, Pearl thought she saw a glimmer of disdain in his eyes. But then his expression softened, and he nodded. "Take them away to safety," he said to Eden.Eden didn't hesitate. He scooped up Pearl and Carolina in his arms and took off at superhuman speed, leaving the chaos behind. But Gracko was far from defeated. Enraged, he took off after Eden, determined to finish what he had started.Nathan, seeing his brother in danger, sprinted after them, his eyes fixed on Gracko's retreating back. "I've got your back, Eden!" he shouted. As the two groups disappeared into th
As the twin hunters emerged from the shadows, Eden's expression transformed in an instant. His eyes darkened, and his jaw clenched, as he swiftly positioned himself between Pearl and the hunters."What do we have here?" Eden growled, his voice low and menacing.Gracko sneered, his eyes flicking to Pearl. "Eden, and it seems he has a little snack with him."Dracko's smile was pure evil, sending a shiver down Pearl's spine.Eden's gaze never wavered from the hunters. "I'm sorry, Pearl, that I brought you here. I didn't mean for you to be harmed."Pearl's confusion was evident, but before she could ask any questions, Dracko's voice cut through the air."We're going to kill her, and then you'll lead us to your brothers."Pearl's eyes dilated in terror as she realized the hunters' intentions. Eden's reaction was instantaneous."Over my dead body will I allow that," he snarled, his fangs bursting forth from his gums.Pearl's gasp was audible, but to her surprise, she didn't feel fear. Inste
Pearl's POV As I stepped into the musty darkness of the old house, a shiver ran down my spine. We used to call it the Ghost House when we were kids, and the memories of our childhood fears came flooding back. Kaleb, however, seemed undeterred, his flashlight casting eerie shadows on the walls as he searched for the mysterious package sent by his uncle."Why would your uncle send a package here, of all places?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. The house seemed to swallow sound, making me feel like I was speaking into a void.Kaleb shrugged, his eyes scanning the dusty floorboards. "I have no idea. But I'm going to find out."As he continued his search, memories of our childhood adventures came flooding back. We used to dare each other to knock on the door, to see if the "ghosts" would answer. Now, as I looked around at the cobweb-covered chandeliers and the faded wallpaper, it all seemed kinda silly. There were no ghosts, just a creepy old house that seemed to have been left
Author's POV As the twin hunters, Gracko and Dracko, stood over Maxwell, their eyes blazing with an unnerving intensity, they asked again, "Where can we find the brothers?"Maxwell's eyes widened in incredulity. "You're still asking me that? After all these years? I don't know any brothers! I swear, I don't know what you're talking about!"Gracko sneered, his face twisted in a cruel smile. "Save it, Maxwell. We know you're hiding something. You're just not remembering yet."Maxwell's frustration boiled over. "I'm telling you, I don't know any brothers! You have to believe me! I'm not lying!"Dracko chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "We'll see about that. Gracko, why don't you help refresh Maxwell's memory?"Gracko's eyes lit up with sadistic glee as he began to inflict pain on Maxwell. Maxwell's screams echoed through the car pack, but Gracko just laughed, his eyes gleaming with excitement. Finally, unable to bear the pain any longer, Maxwell begged, "Please, stop! Just tell me what
Pearl's POVKaleb killed the engine of his car with the vehicle keys as we arrived at our destination.A large, old abandoned mansion or as it is popularly known. The ghost house...“What are we doing here?" I asked and Kaleb just smiled.“To get the package my uncle sent to me, remember?"He answered in a smooth manner then came down off the vehicle.I also came out of the vehicle, slamming the door shut in a civil manner.“Yeah, I know that but why will your uncle have a package delivered to an unoccupied and abandoned building?" I was really trying to figure that out.Kaleb laughed softly, “Guess you don't know my uncle that much. He lives for the crazy things but he always has a reason for doing anything he does."“Really?"“Yeah, come with me." Kaleb said then started walking towards the building and I walked to meet up with him...I can't actually believe I am here again. It's been so long since I came here, since when I and Kaleb were kids, that's probably 9 or 10 years ago I t
