A hot moment

OLIVIA'S POV

The day after the contract, I was still trying to wrap my head around everything when my phone buzzed, a message lighting up the screen. I opened it, and my heart Skipped a beat as I read the words:

"Come to my office. We need the discuss something.”

the message was from Dawson, and despite its formal tone, it made my stomach flutter, I quickly grabbed my things and headed to his office, my mind racing with questions.

why did he want to see me? What was so Important?

When I reached his office door; I paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and knocked.

"Come in" Dawson's deep voice called from inside.

I stepped in, finding him Sitting behind his sleek mahogany desk, his eyes locked on his Computer screen. As soon as he saw me, he leaned back in his chair, his gaze shifting to meet mine.

"Sit down, Olivia," he said motioning to the chair across from him.

I Sat, feeling the weight of his gaze as he watched me.

“Mr. Chen, the Investor, is hosting a Charity gala this weekend," Dawson said. said, his tone all business. "He's requested that I bring my wife."

My pulse quickened at the word "wife." It Wasn't like I hadn't expected this, but hearing him Say it out loud made it all the more real.

“I know it's a short notice," he continued, his voice softening slightly. "but it's Important. Mr. Chen's Support is Crucial to the company. He values family appearances, and this is the perfect opportunity for us to solidify the Image of a committed couple.”

I nodded, processing his words. "So, What do I need to do?”

"Be Yourself," he said with a faint smile, though there was Something Calculating behind it. "But remember, this will also be our first public appearance as a Married couple; we need to convince everyone that our marriage is real. You'll need to look comfortable with me like we're deeply in love."

His Words hit me like a Jolt, convincing. people we were in love? The idea seemed surreal, but I had agreed to this, knowing I would have to Play the part.

“I'll have someone take care of the dress and everything you'll need," Dawson added, his voice cool and composed. "And I think We should spend more time together before the gala.”

"more time together?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "it would help sell the story," Dawson replied, folding his hands on the desk. "If we know each other better, it will feel more natural at the event."

He wasn't wrong. The last need I wanted was for people to see through our charade. I nodded in agreement.

"Alright, when do we start?”

"Tonight," Dawson said, his eyes darkening slightly as he leaned forward. "I'll pick you up at eight.”

The way he said it left no room for argument, and despite the professional tone of our Conversation, there was a tension between us that I Could not shake.

"Okay," I replied Standing up to leave. But Just before I could turn around, Dawson's voice stopped me.

“Olivia” His voice was softer, almost gentle. “Thank You. I know this isn't easy”

I paused, looking back at him. There was something in his expression, something that almost resembled sincerity. It threw me off the quarter.

"You're welcome," I said quietly, before leaving his office, my mind buzzing with thoughts about the evening to come.

Later that night, I stood in front of the mirror, Smoothing down the elegant black dress that was sent over. The dress hugged my figure perfectly, its sleek design making me Feel Sophisticated yet vulnerable at the same time. The heels, the clutch, the Jewelry, it was all coordinated in a way that made me look the part of a billionaire's wife. Butt as I stared at my reflection, I couldn't help but Feel like I was playing dress-up in Someone else's life.

The doorbell rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. I opened it to find Dawson Standing there looking enigmatic as always in a tailored suit. His gaze flicked over me, his eyes lingering a moment longer than usual.

“You look Stunning," he said, his voice low.

“Thank You," I replied, Feeling my cheeks warm under his gaze.

The night unfolded smoothly after that. Dawson took me to an upscale restaurant where the Wind flowed freely, and the conversation was surprisingly light. Despite the Formality of our Situation, Dawson was easy to talk to; He asked me questions about my life, my likes and dislikes, and for the first time, I saw a side of him that wasn't all business. There was something deeper beneath the cold exterior, Something human.

After dinner, we moved to the bar for a drink. The wine had left me feeling warm and a little bolder than usual. We laughed as Dawson shared Stories about his early Career and some embarrassing mishaps he'd had along the way. He wasn't the distant, Intimidating man I had first met; tonight, he Felt approachable, almost charming.

As the night wore on, I couldn't deny the growing Feelings between us, Every glance, every Casual touch, Seemed to stoke the fire. There was something electric in the air, Something neither of us could ignore.

By the time we returned to my apartment, the air was thick with unspoken tension. Dawson Walked me to my door, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

“Tonight was nice," I said, Fumbling with my keys as I tried to ignore the heat rising inside me.

"Yes, it was,” Dawson replied, his voice unusually soft.

I Finally managed to unlock the door, but before I could step inside, I hesitated; something in me, maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was the way Dawson was looking at me, Pushed me to act.

without thinking, I turned around, closed the distance between us, and kissed him.

The kiss was Impulsive, driven by a mix of emotions I couldn't fully understand. For a second, I thought I'd made a terrible mistake. But then Dawson responded, his lips moving against mine with an urgency that took my breath away.

The kiss was electric and intense. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me closer to him. It wasn't supposed to happen like this, none of this was supposed to happen, but in that moment, nothing else mattered. There was no Contrast, no business deal, Just us Caught in the heat of the moment.

When we finally pulled apart, I was breathless, My heart racing in my chest. Dawson's eyes were filled with something I couldn't quite Place.

"Olivia," he whispered, his voice rough.

But before he could say anything more, I kissed him again, cutting off every word he was about to speak. This time, the kiss was deeper, more desperate as if we were both giving in to something we had been trying to resist all night.

And Just as quickly as it began, I pulled away, the realization of what I had done Sinking in.

The air between us was thick, and the look in Dawson's eyes made it clear that this kiss had just changed everything.
