Show my weakness

After calming myself down, I nod my head in agreement and smile weakly at him. Ezra continues to wipe my tears away with his thumb as we continue to ride our bikes.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, I break it, asking, "What happened between us? Why did you push me away?"

"I didn't mean to push you away," he replies quietly.

"Then why did you?" I question.

Ezra remains silent. Finally after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, he sighs deeply and answers my question, "It's because I realized that I have feelings for you."

My heart flutters at those words. They are the exact words that I wanted to hear. However, I can't help but be slightly nervous because deep down inside of me, I know that things will never work out between us.

Ezra deserves someone better. Someone who will treat him right and who will make sure he's happy. I'm nothing compared to that. But then again, I don't think that I would want anyone else either.

"Do you...do you still love me?" I ask cautiously
