Chapter 78

Ronald went to the kitchen to get a snack. While I turned on the television, my cell phone, which I placed on the table before me, rang, showing a foreign number. When I was about to answer, the ringing stopped; I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly and then put the thing back in its original place. Ronald brought me a potato chip snack with barbecue seasoning, a cola drink, and canned orange juice. We watched a replay of Roger Federer's match at Wimbledon, which had just ended in England. Caroline came with Andrew an hour later, the couple joining us in the living room.
