Chapter 0002

After seven long years, the "poverty training assessment" orchestrated by his family had finally... concluded!

For seven years, Logan had endured hardship due to his imposed poverty. Now, memories of his true identity flickered through his mind like a film reel. Logan would have almost forgotten his true identity as the heir to a vast fortune if it weren't for the message. All the past sufferings he had endured didn't matter anymore. Everything that was rightfully his had now returned!

At daybreak, Logan hailed a cab to Goldguard Bank in the heart of the city as soon as he woke up.

Nestled within Ridgeview City's central business district, the bank was surrounded by the area's wealthiest enterprises.

Luxury vehicles lined the streets, and the well-dressed, affluent crowd bustled about the square, their demeanor betraying their wealth.

Approaching Goldguard Bank's entrance, Logan thrust the door open.

"Ouch!"

The door swung both ways, and his haste caused him to collide with a long-haired girl.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you," he quickly apologized.

"Am I invisible? Didn't you see me?" the long-haired girl retorted, clutching her forehead and glaring at him.

Chloe Adams, the lobby manager, hurried over in high heels to check on the girl. The long-haired girl eyed Logan with displeasure, her suspicion piqued by his modest attire.

Goldguard Bank was different from other banks. They catered to high-end clientele and businessmen, and she, like her father, was no exception. So what business did this poor-looking young man have here?

"Sir, may I ask you for the reason of your visit..." Chloe inquired politely, her smile restrained. Logan's appearance and youth clearly did not fit the profile of the standard Goldguard Bank customer.

Logan nonchalantly declared his intention, "I'm here to withdraw money."

This statement elicited an incredulous outburst from the girl standing next to him, who swiftly transformed her expression into one of disdain and sneered at Logan. "Withdraw money?"

She questioned, "You do know you need a card to withdraw money, right?"

Acquiring a Goldguard Bank card was no easy feat, as one had to deposit at least $1,000,000 in advance to even qualify for an application.

Given Logan's appearance, it was obvious he wasn't qualified for the application.

"Do you have a card?" Chloe, the lobby manager, asked with a faint smile, assuming that Logan was inexperienced and unaware of their bank's protocols. Or perhaps, he might have assumed that cards from other banks would suffice.

Logan shook his head and said, "No."

The long-haired girl could not contain her laughter at Logan's honest response. Her disdain for him only intensified, and she avoided looking at him altogether.

"Daughter, let's go," her father intervened, entering the scene with a receipt in his hand.

"My father and I will be leaving now, Ms. Adams." After saying that, the long-haired girl bid farewell to Chloe with a couple of handshakes, and then her eyes darted over to Logan. "Ms. Adams, this kind of person affects your bank's image and the customers' mood! I hope this situation won't happen again in the future."

Having said her final words, she held her father's arm and pushed open the door to exit.

"Take care, Mr. Harrison." Chloe followed them to the door and watched the father and daughter drive away. Then, she turned around and returned to the lobby, filled with resentment. She was determined to "escort" that poor-looking young man out as soon as possible!

'Eh, strange… Where did he go?'

The spot where Logan had been standing was vacant. Chloe felt suspicious. Could it be that he felt inferior and left in secret?

As she pondered this, Chloe felt relieved. Just as she was about to get back to work, she caught a glimpse of a figure from the corner of her eye.

It was that young man!

No wonder she did not see him just now. He had already made his way to the VIP room's entrance, and the hall's columns had obscured his silhouette.

The VIP room was reserved for high-status clients with a minimum balance of $30,000,000!

Given that Logan didn't even have a card, letting him in would only result in the account manager's reprimanding.

In a moment of desperation, Chloe shouted at the top of her lungs, "Stop right there!"

The other clients looked at her, clearly displeased by the noise. Chloe could only smile and apologize while she quickly walked toward Logan.

In the meantime, Logan had already opened the door of the VIP room and entered.
