Listening to his subordinates' report, Shane could not help but pinch the bridge of his nose. "I handed the overseas business to you because I trusted you, not because I don't care. But what have you given me? This is the result of six months of work? I’m paying you top dollar, and yet what you’ve delivered isn’t even on par with fresh graduates!"

Shane was known for his stern demeanor, but it was rare for him to truly lose his temper. This time, however, it was clear that they had really crossed a line. The usually smooth and seductive tone of his deep voice, speaking fluent French, was now laced with frustration and anger.

His subordinates hung their heads low, not daring to make a sound.

Just then, the silence of the study was broken by a soft "click." The door creaked open slightly, and a small, fluffy head peeked in.
